William,
As you told me all about this on MSN, this post didn't come as a surprise. However, I hoped you wouldn't execute your plan, vainly as it seems now.
I'm completely with Doomforge. Let is rest, wander around, become "serene" and "zen" with yuorself( Okay, now I'm getting way too much like a hippie )
Anyway, in your case I would enjoy the company of those you care about most: Family, Friends, Parents, etc. This isn't a time for Self pity and Depression, (actuially there is NO time for Depression and Self-pity) What is, is and not much can be altered. Like DoomForge said, do some things out doors. Go out with Friends (I know you aren't that tupe of person but Gadi would kill me if I didn't mention it), do adventurous stuff, stuff you didn't do before. Wasting your time in things you doubt yourself, is pure waste. Though you have oceans of spare time, that supply isn't ifinite. Enjoy it and live your life, that's all I can say
As for leaving HC, I was really unconfortalbe about that, since you are one of the person I like the most at HC. However we're friends, nothing gives me the right to force you do things you don't like doing. (even if they are for your own good)
All I can say is: If you leave HC, have a good time, and Come back in a few months when you are fully recharged.
Best of Wishes,
Lexxan.

To all those having a rough time, remember it could be a Hell of a lot worse. You could be 26, unemployed, and living with your parents; Hell, that really isn't so bad compared to how truly awful it could be.
For you William, I wouldn't look at school as an ending but a beginning. True you won't see some of your college buddies anymore but you'll make new friends if you want to. I don't think leaving the community would make you feel any better. While we can't be there physically for you, we can still offer support. Just look at all the responses you received just from mentioning you may leave. If we didn't care about you, we wouldn't have bothered...
We are Venom. (Sorry. Couldn't resist.)

Thank you everyone for your kind words. It means a lot when you hear kind words from people at a low point in your life at the time.
I'm glad I can post here and know that I do have people that are willing to help. I will try to break this computer addiction though since it is ruining my real life communication skills.

well the statistical % of the depressed people is quite big so it's quite possible for a lot of our members to be depressed.. I am not depressed, I was clueless for a long time what to do with my life, pretty much like William is currently. The short relationship I had and basically a carefree summer spent on cycling, computer games and other joy-bringers cleared up my mind. Did some thinking.. Now I have a path I want to follow myself.. Took a lot of time tho
I am surprised by the amount of people at the age of 18-2x that feel that way, though. A lot of us feels completely clueless at that part of life..

I read what you wrote William and I would like to say some words:
Depression reduces your activity. It brings you very deep thoughts and makes you stop living.
The best way to break it is to do things. That's the best cure for depression.
Think about it.

Classic, everyone feels like that around that time. They realize that their friends were not as close as they though, relationships turn out wrong or keep longer than they should, people you knew leave to another place, uncertainly on what to do yada yada. What they fail to realize is that they have a new beginning, that they are merely waking up. There are endless possibilities and yet they cling to the past like it's scary. It's a temporary feeling don't worry, once you establish yourself in the new situations you'll be feeling better than ever

All of you are such downers. I've never been depressed. I guess I'm lucky.
William, I'm sorry to hear about your problems - and thank you for telling us about them, because I will be graduating from high school in May, and I will have a similar problem. Many of my friends will scatter to different universities. Some will go to one relatively close university, some will go to another, and others will go somewhere out of state. And I don't know what to do. I'd like to go to a good university like Harvard or the University of Chicago, but I have two concerns: that there'll be impossible amounts of work, and I don't really want that, and that I won't be around my friends any more. I realize that I have the internet and a cell phone, but it's really not the same as seeing them every day. What should I do? Should I try to go to a good university and be far from my friends? (Keep in mind that I'm not that good at making friends.) Or should I go to the nearby university, which is above average, but hardly top-tier?

Why Oxford? What's so special about Oxford in regards to the English language? And since when do I have an obsession with the English language? This is really something new to me.

Lol, I get it now. I forgot about the Oxford dictionary - probably because we don't use it that much here in America.
As for me correcting my friends' grammar, that was back in 5th grade - a while back. And I posted this fact in a long post. I'm surprised that anyone here bothered remembering that little tidbit.
