Obama's Blueprint for Change
In response to frequent charges that Obama lacks substance or has not made his policies and positions clear (a few such charges on this website but mainly elsewhere):

I Voted
For Hillary. I am afraid because I don't know what is going to happen now. She is not going to quit. It's a little frightening considering we might lose to McCain for splitting our party down the middle.

I would puke if I see Colin Powell as his running mate. That would completely nullify the ideals that Obama represents (to me)

It would indeed be an interesting ticket. The only problem: they're both black. I think that Obama/Hagel would work much better.

Nope
Obama has made a habit out of taking from Clinton associations. His Vice President candidate is Gore. Mark my words, it'll be Gore. There is no more public or political steal of symbolic Clintonian reputation than to use Gore in a V.P. ticket. It would be the ultimate slap in the face for her and her husband.

I don't think that Gore would want to be the VP again. But if he did, it'd be a decent ticket. Not the most effective vote-getting ticket, but certainly far from the worst.

Where is everybody?
Jeeze, one of the most momentous episodes in this campaign so far goes down yesterday and nobody has anything to say about it?
Does anybody around here get the impression that Harold Ickes on the Democractic Party right now is kinda like a flame-thrower on gasoline? I mean, he was totally over the top yesterday. The militant Clintonites have finally crawled out from under their log and reared their ugly little heads. The Clinton supporters I know were completely embarassed by their behavior during the Rules hearing yesterday. As they should have been. I was embarassed to be a Democrat, until I realized that these folks aren't really Democrats anymore. Just like the Moral Majority was never moral, nor was it ever a majority. Nor was it ever truly representative of the Republican Party at large.
I'm beginning to get the impression that if the Clintonite militants ever got access to tanks and AK 47's they'd take the White House by force. This is just absolutely turning into scorched-Earth, man.
And not only is Clinton not discouraging it, she appears to be right in the middle of it. Ickes has been her personal mouth-piece attack dog for a long time. I heard a rumor that Clinton had those Yay-Hoos bussed into the hearing and instructed them to be disruptive. I was wondering if anyone could look into it and either verify or refute that rumor. Nothing surprises me anymore about these people though.

Yeah, I actually watched part of that... thing. They went on a half-hour "lunch" that lasted 3 hours. Nice to see that backroom deals are not dead yet.
In other news, Clinton won Puerto Rico.

And after all of the campaigning Obama did in the local channels over here (yes, I'm an Obama supporter. ).

Ok if my source is correct so far it seems that here are the totals I was looking for.
DELEGATES Pledged Super Total
Obama 1738 333 2071
Clinton 1625 290 1915
Edwards 14 0 14
No luck with upto date popular vote, but now it looks like Clinton will get the popular vote and obama win via delegates. Which would be just as much a travisty if it was the other way around. Though I am an Obama supporter, I would not be happy if he wins via Delegates and not popular vote.

Popular Vote Total
Obama 17,389,116 48.1%
Clinton 17,364,592 48.0%
Obama has also the popular vote still at his pocket, although not by much.
The difference in votes is +24,524 or +0.1%

No, Consis. The Republicans are even worse. Remember, it's the party of George W. Bush, Karl Rove, and Tom Coburn, who famously said that abortionists should get the death penalty. And it's also the party that produced the swift-boat veterans campaign.
As regards the popular vote, I'm not sure if it's counting the caucus states at all. If it is, it's still not indicative of the actual vote, because caucuses have a lower turnout than primaries.

The popular vote figure that Clinton is using is very carefully parsed to give her every possible advantage and she STILL barely wins using her methods. For the record, states that she doesn't think should count :
Alaska
Colorado
Hawaii
Idaho
Iowa
Kansas
Maine
Minnesota
Nebraska
Nevada
North Dakota
Texas (Caucus only)
Washington
Wyoming
It also requires that you declare that absolutely nobody in Michigan wanted Obama (whose name was not on the ballot).
There's a good breakdown of the math at www.dailykos.com. If you count the Caucus states, Obama has received more votes.
Either way, the simple fact of the matter is it's a very close race but Obama has more delegates. Period. Clinton's arguments (won big states, or "won" the popular vote, or "someone might shoot him!") are roughly the equivalent of a team that lost a football game 15-14 trying to claim that they should get the victory because they scored more touchdowns.
She's been a good senator and will, hopefully, continue to be a good senator and I certainly hope that she sponsors lots of bills that will ultimately be signed into law by President Obama. But jeez, she's got to stop fanning the flames the way she is.
Consis, before you go Republican, remember that the Republicans also gave Florida and MIchigan only half a vote per delegate. It just didn't matter there since McCain has been running unopposed (except Ron Paul) for the last couple months.
Also, remember the Republican policies. Such as war, debt and a craptacular economy!
