Though most likely Obama will win the Nomination, I am not sure about the presidency.  Though his opponit would be 'the same old, same old' (or worse) people tend to fear change.  It's irrational and silly, but true.

I am beginning to feel the same way too. I remember everyone thinking that surely Bush just CAN'T get a second turn, it is impossible that people would vote for him etc. But what happened?

I worry that the hype over Obama will turn out a disaster, as you said, people fear the change. McCain is a comfortable old man, and Obama is a radical black man. And what more is the voting of the president about for the masses than "who is a good guy"-contest?

Personally I would like to see fresh, new faces in all the government.  From a city's treasurer to President.  Not going to happen, but would be nice.  A shake up couldn't be worse .

Omg did I call it or what?!  Obama took N.C. by 14 (only 2 off...percentages count) and I was right on the money with Indiana.

Man, if he picks Durbin like I think he's going to, Binabik, man, I will make us stinking rich.

Honestly,

I really have no idea how you're able to predict these things. But who am I to argue with the truth?

Hillary wins West Virginia

I have gone back to Hillary. She will be releasing her income tax returns. Turns out she was witholding the information because Obama was doing it too....

I guess Oregon gets to vote after all! Woohoo! This is gonna be awesome! I'm so excited!

I guess if you follow some of this ridiculous logic floating about, maintaining that black people will vote for Obama.....then my state won't vote for him eh? LoL What a bunch of nonsense.

Now let me give you a small piece of Oregon truth: We have some of the most politically active young persons in the country and in the world. Any questions?

Got A Phone Call

They asked whom I would vote for. My answer:

Don't care anymore. Both are good people and both have said our soldiers will come home.

But I secretly wish Hillary wins. She is not winning and we must have a winner. What else to say? Oregon will likely vote Obama because of our young people.

Agree to that, And that is one reason Mccain should not be president, he will keep the soldiers in Iraq for another 5 years.

But I'd say that McCain is considerably better than either Obama or Clinton on the economy.

But you'd be wrong

You know he evades the subject like the plague... When he doesn't he makes horrible blunders. In a recent interview in The Wall Street Journal, he was unaware that his Web site endorsed a different plan regarding Social Security than the one he was touting to the interviewer. It's hard to imagine a discrepancy like that regarding the war.

I guess one must pray that he ends up with good advisors, lol

He's even admitted that he has little economic knowledge. Well, for someone with little knowledge, he sure has the best economic plan out of anyone running.

He now wants to make the Bush tax cuts permanent. Price tag: more than $2 trillion over 10 years. He wants to repeal the alternative minimum tax. Price tag: "up to $2 trillion" according to the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities (CBPP). He wants to keep the war going ad infinitum, at a cost of between $100 billion and $150 billion per year. Oh, and did I mention he wants to cut the corporate tax rate too, from 35 percent to 25 percent

Bob Greenstein, the director of the CBPP, called McCain's program "one of the most fiscally irresponsible plans we've seen by a presidential candidate in a long time."

It is hard not to agree. He is going to have to cut somewhere. Where do you think it will come... It won't be from Holy Military, he allows the war to last forever. Might it not be that the Heath Care and Social Security will have to undergo deep cuts?

This so remains me of the George Carlin clip Moonlight posted some time ago. "and now they are coming for your social security"

Yeah, his economic view aren't perfect. But they're leaps and bounds better than Obama's or Clinton's. And you have to remember that he voted against the Bush tax cuts.

Except for the war, of course, where he absolutely fails.

The ideal candidate would have Obama's social and foreign policy views, and most of McCain's economic policy views. But such a candidate does not exist.

So what if he initially voted againt them, now he is in favour of making them permanent.

Perhaps he's just pandering to the right wing of his party. Remember that in 2000, he ran much more honestly. Now I think he's going to move back to the center.

I think that it's more likely that he's pandering to the conservatives.

And at least Gorbachov ended the opressiveness of the USSR.
