i thought we started the race on a saturday, or am i just going crazy, thats been happening a bit lately... im still on level 6 as well.

I checked my computer calendar and if I recall correctly, we started real close to when Friday changes to Saturday (in Hawaii) I dunno what time that is for you guys, but I remember starting this thing around midnight or something. What do you guys think?
For your information, I'm on Level 6 as well.

Grrr... these time zones are so hard to figure out in my head. 
How about one full day from now at 8:00 AM (according to HC)? I dunno about mr_niceguy, but maybe we can end there. If we can let him know before it's too late tomorrow, he can get ready.
Maybe when we've all stopped, we can post our pop counts and ratings on the current level we're on at the time.

no im having trouble on it, and i probably wont finish any soon with all my assignment and stupid school.

The food takes way too long to cross the map in my city. Also, those landslides happen sooo often that I was left without any wood to make furniture for around six game months. I almost killed my PC when the parade of brown-shirted homeless dudes flooded the streets.
Fortunately, strategically-placed Gatehouses seem to work well at restricting those annoying Market walkers from wandering too far in the wrong direction. I still miss my Zeus/Emperor road blocks. (sniff)
I hate it when Mercury blesses Granaries that are already full to begin with.
Damn, Roman pottery and furnature must have really been really fragile back then because frequent replacements are depleting my supply.
Hmmm, rant mode completed.

i think mercury fills up the most empty granary, unless your talking about when he fills up the granaries when they're all full, then yeah thats annoying...

Worse, Mercury chooses to fill the full Granary mere seconds before two chubby market ladies come and take the food. What. A. Bloody. Waste.
Grrrrr! I'm getting sick of this dead-end level. Timber isn't coming in fast enough to supply the demand for Furniture, and at the same time Food takes way too long to reach one map side to the other. I might still be able to complete this level, but I might burst some blood vessels in the process. This is unhealthier than I thought!

i put graineries everywhere i start a new residential area as to supply them with food. when i open one of these i set it to getting food. i never have a food problem

Of course I do. Let me show you what's happening.
1. The housing close to the farmland in the west have good access to food and goods. Housing to the east need food and goods as well, but they must send carts over to the west to get everything that's needed. It takes a while for the carts to bring the goods over; higher level housing devolve during this time.
2. Because multiple far-away Granaries are feeding off of the supply close to the main population center, the western Granaries are emptied quickly. Market buyers can't buy as much food to support their houses, so the restocking of markets tend to slow down.
3. Farm carts will attempt to journey and supply the newer empty Granaries if the old ones cannot take any more food. Once these carts depart, they take a long time coming back; enough time for the old Granary's stocks to be depleted.
4. Markets will not buy non-food goods unless there is already food stored in the Market. If any of the markets cannot find food in nearby Granaries, they surely won't get any pottery or furniture to hold up those ailing Insulae houses. Alternately, a Market buyer could go for a looooong walk to a far off food source and return in several months' time. During this stretch, however, the housings' goods have exhausted already and devolve the whole block.
5. The frequent landslides prevent traders from showing up as often as they should. This is a painful delay, because I need their 25 timber per year to make furniture for my housing. That is reduced drastically if the traders don't show; the Markets won't have anything to maintain the Medium Insulae housing.
6. Those new far off housing blocks are a pain to give food to. Just a few Casa level houses will absorb a full Market's worth of food, so I'm often staring at a Market buyer making a God-awful four-month-long trek to town. By the time she comes back, all the houses that had food have eaten it all already and are back to tent level.

the only help i can offer is to build a warehouse next to the grainery and set it to getting wheat and meat and nothing else

It's been going like that the past two RL days.
At this point, I figure I'll still be on Level 6. I think I'll get the pop count eventually, but as you and mr_niceguy said earlier, the prosperity will be a major problem. I'm counting all of the tent housing and I know it's gonna be a while...
