i have this wonderful image of the wraith charging and attacking with a death blow with that WICKED scythe. it looks so cool!!!!!!!!!
and why are you guys so critical? the boot is probobaly because they don't need that much clothing, being just bones.
the bone dragon is cool.
the lich? the "Dress" is old style wizard robes. nothing at all wrong with that, it's better than those metal kilts they were wearing in heroes 3.
zombies......
Vampires: AWSOME!!! this is what vampires should look like. (please note, i just watched van helsing, so i am biased.
ghosts: okay, and the moving in three is alright, just not the best.

Huh? What were you saying 'bout them boots? It's ridiculous 'cous it's only ONE snowing boot, not becouse the skeleton's wearing clothes or something. As a matter of fact he doesn't need any clothes, not just "not much".
By the way did anyone of you noticed how ridiculous Van Helsing was? That's easy one of the dumbest movies I've ever seen. Worst two hours of my life either. The guy who made it should be raped and his family butchered. And everyone saying the move was "awesome", "magical" (I've wrote those in reviews of the movie, boy you sure got to know nothing about whatever may be to write such bullsnow for such movie) and otherwise good should be shot at sight. Period. I just hate it so much I have to state it every chance I get. Don't sue me. I just can't get how anyone beyond the age of 8, maybe 10, 12 worse can like that mockery of a movie. DOUCHE!

In H3, normal skeletons were bare-tailbone nekkid. The upgraded version got TWO, count 'em, TWO boots. And a helmet. In H4, they were dressed, sort of, but barefoot. All of those combinations were fine. It's not the amount of clothes that's the problem. It's that the entire Necropolis army apparently got a bulk buy discount on right-foot boots and hasn't bothered to get left-foot boots to match.
Having seen the lich in the movie, I'm softening my opinion on that skirt. It's less reminicient of Scarlett O'Hara in motion, and it makes the lich look like it's gliding.
For the record, I like those spectres/ghosts. It would be nice to see them in-game, along with the wight/wraiths.
If they've given the Necropolis the color green, what colors are they going to give the elves/nature?

Ahh the Necropolis, my favorite town to choose in Heroes III Complete. I do love all the photos that they've made, they all look good to me. But there was one small problem with the army of the Necropolis (as well as the Death Alignment in Heroes VI) there is no Black/Dread Knights. That unit put the bone/ghost dragon to shame in Heroes III, but why get rid of it... Did it too closely resemble a Necropolis Hero?
One thing I'll never forget about the Dread Knight...

I certainly felt them missing from H4.
Maybe the creators thought it looked to much like a Hero, yes.
It's a shame to see it gone tho.

I thought it was about time dreadknights and mummies return to necropolis; apparently the creators thought otherwise. Hopefully the add-ons will bring them at least as neutrals.
To have ghost AND wraiths in the army seems redundant to me. I would have replaced the ghosts anytime with the mummies.

My thoughts exactly, Vlad.
The dread knights are an essensial part of the necropolis,
and the mummies were great in every game I've seen them in.
If the creators read these forums,
I hope they will make a few changes.

Wait a second if they have things like the Cavalier/Paladin which is also on a horse. Why in the world do you have to drop the Dread Knights? Sure they don't have a lance... they just have that huge metallic sword with "Death Blow" written all over it... Sorry, I was day dreaming guys.

in the original heroes IV there were not dreadknights also... just in the expasion and as neutral unit... so I think this was based on heroes 4 alignments... I just hope the wraiths will be great as sixth level unit

Well, my guess is this:
The Spectres/Ghosts should be called Wights/Wraith.
Why?
Because I think Nival was afraid to call the Wraith like I hoped,Grim Reaper. But they didn't.
I think they didn't because they were afraid that it wouldn't live up to expactations considering a Grim Reaper.
Therefore, they gave the name Wraith to it because it fairly looks like it,
and gave the level three creature the name Spectre.
It's a shame if this is the reason,
so I hope for the best, but'it's simple:
You can't have a Necropolis without a creature that,
unlike the Wights, deserve to be a level 6 creature.
They look improved, but switching from 3 to 2 to 6 is to much in a 2-game period.
I know I can be hard at these kind of things,
but at this point, I am not to confident with the Necropolis.

I've seen you people talking about the apearace of the vampire and what clotes it has.The outfit is hungarian and from what I've heard the hair is mongol(I believe VladPopescu has heard of "tatari") as for the art ,well this what I think:
1.Archer/S Archer- first one looks fine but the upgrade...
2.Zombie/P Zombie- kind of strong for an undead,I believe that without a weapon first and the upgrade with a spiked club(like a piece of a broken coffin)
3.Ghost/Specters- the guy was right that they look like in Lord of... or could they be taken from Warcraf3, who knows how it came up whith the idea but is fairly good
4.Lich/Archlich-don't like them, I mean look at their heads(bat wings),and the staff(why a skull?)
5.Vampire/Vampire Lord-it looks to me more of a barbarian than an undead, and that HUGE sword..., I don't know how he will fly(or maybe he won't)
6.Wight -I really missed the MGorgons so they'r welcome
-there kind of kreepy tough
7.BoneDragon/SpectralDragon- woooaaaa, some nice **** and have also seen them in a trailer, the best **** around

Hihi, well, I hope before posting on page 3 you've read the posts on page 2: mine is somewhere at the middle of the page, look for keyword "tartar" associated with "mongol".
But I agree with you, I don't know if that sword will turn into a straw carried by the bat. maybe we'll have a running vampire....

Bastich, this is not the place to flame van helsing. if you did not like it, just say, "I did not like Van Helsing" and move on.
the necropolis apears to live in the swamp now, so perhaps they lost a boot wading through the muck.

I miss a few things in the Necropolis:
Dread Knights
Werewolfs(they belong in this game)
Mummies
Anyone who also feels this is missing?

I believe that DKnights would have been better if not for the Wight. I would definettly want to see Wights in 3d action floating whit that rugged robe....

i still say werewolf belongs in the woods. i mean, wolves live in woods, and werewolves are not dead! they seem to be the only movie monsters (other than oversised bugs) that are not Dead/undead.

Anyone who also feels this is missing?
Dread Knights - Yes
Werewolves - No, I strongly disagree
Mummies - Yes
The reason I say no to the werewolves is due to the fact that I don't want my army to have a living creature, if I were to play as a Necropolis. Big mistake in Heroes IV was due to the "Death" alignment having living creatures among undead creatures. The spell "Plague" would be so useful if it weren't for those imps. That's why I would transform the imps into skeletons, but that's beside the point. Why would I want to transform something living, such as werewolf into an undead creature when it doesn't even belong in the Necropolis in the first place.
Quote: No, but they are part of the hole ''horror'' thing.
Really? What are devils part of "little kiddy shows", like the Care Bears ? The Necropolis is based on being undead, not on the "whole horror thing". Again, that was one of the mistakes in Heroes IV, mixing undead with living creatures.

Which is why I don't say to put devils in.
They are part of the ''Hell'' thing.
Anyway, a werewolf even as a neutral creature WOULD be nice.

My mistake DragonMaster, I only disagreed with the fact that it would be in the Necropolis. However, if it is a neutral creature I would simply love that. Drop the wolves from Heroes IV, they were mediocre, in my opinion a crusader with fur.
