Hmmm, I've never thought about Famillars, This is a strong point there, but Sacrificing Defense Vs Inferno is not a good Idea i think....

Swift Mind is probably my favourite Perk in this game^^. The game can often enough either severely cripple your oponent before he starts or actually win you the game. I'm not even exagerating. The thing about "catching up" with Sorcery isn't exactly something you can compare since it's a huge difference wether you frenzy an enemy while he's still on his side of the field or wether you do it while he's on your side.
Not to talk about a destructive spell right before things get started. It's simply supreme boardering on broken (like mass RMing all you stacks before they charge lol)xD.

Which hero do you find best?

Zoltan is number one
- he has fast creeping, you can quickly level him up and get nice stats soon
Naadir is number two
- ghosts helps, but it's not so fast as with Zoltan

I have seen, many of you prefer Naadir, do I miss something here?

How do you build castle?

Right, Zoltan and Naadir are best Necropolis heroes. But Zoltan has fast creeping? I would say exact opposite - his ability wonīt help you against neutrals, Arcane Intuition wonīt save you and Enlightenment is ofc useful from the very beginning, but not ensures fast creeping.

If I play Necropolis, I usually pick Naadir, because:
1) Starts with Dark > Easy access to Master of Mind/effective Slow + Confusion early
2) Starts with Summoning > Better Raise Dead + open road to Fire Trap usage
3) Ghost special is very useful in both hero and neutral battles > blocking shooters (and while stack is blocked, you can Raise your fallen Skelly Archers and deliver the final blow), stealing retals (good for Vampire Princes unless Mass Confusion is available) and protecting your Archers in the corner (they are usually protected by single ghost stacks - enemy stack approaches, kills your ghost, you will focus your fire on the close unit and summoned ghost will replace your fallen stack - especially useful in battles with large creatures like Bears/Lizards).

I agree, that ghosts helps you in the creeping. But Zoltan has on the other hand better stats sooner, higher knowledge, higher spellpower, better defence and he is able to acquire some spells, that are not in the mage guild thx. to arcane intuition. I would say, that he can be better in some aspects than Naadir.

Naadir is decent, but starts with 2 fixed skills, which narrows your skill development, and makes you more predictable. Zoltan is very good as well if you can pick up a magic school early, which is kinda easy. I think Lucretia is one of the best, since mana regen helps you at the beginning and giving vamps the bonus att/def is quite significant. Deirdre is a solid hero if there's no one better.

I find Lucretia weak, sorcery is not so usefull and occupie slot for the better skills.

I find as a best to have dark + summoning for the Neromancers... I would not substitute it for the other skills...

I think that Sorcery is a very good skill for a Necromancer. Accelerated Dark/Summoning can be a life-saver. You clearly Underrate it.

I usually take Dark, Summoning/destructive, Enlightement, Sorcery and Logistics as my skills, though I sometimes skip Logistics or Sorcery for Luck (depending whether I got for Warlock's Luck or not)

One thing about Zoltan. The reason why he is one of the best Necromancers is his special and Enlightment/Arcane Intuition which allows him to :

special - at higher levels Zoltan will be able to block some dangerous spells (it really helped me when I played Vangelis and he started to spam DV<though we made a rule to not using it...> )

Enlightment/Arcane Intuition - Zoltan is just crafted for Swift Mind, Swift Mind being a great, life saving perk is Zoltan's destiny

edit: Sorry Lex, didnt notice that you've made an identical post :x

Actually, Lexxan is 100% right, theLucas. Only thing I'd like to add is that sorcery is a MUST for necro (but ofc, is not so good as a starting skill, thats why I think mana regen on Lucretia makes up for it). Also, if the creeps aren't too strong on the map you can leave summoning out, since raise dead with high sp will be enough even w/o mastery to creep low-lvl troops and vs tier 6-7 you'll have dark.

@TheluCas: Yes, Zoltan is ofc better in some aspects than Naadir - his usage depends mainly your opponent. While Zoltan can be devastating against factions like Necro (and block Raise Dead after first cast), his usefulness against for example Stronghold is rather low. Zoltan is more powerful when used properly, Naadir is more dependable, matter of taste I would say.
@ClayMan: Deidre is good hero for small maps (considering your enemy isnīt Necro). Lucretia isnīt that good - Mana Regeneration becomes waste after you hit MotN or if the map is full of wells, and Sorcery is pretty bad starting skill for Necromancer. Her special is good, but not really that gamebreaking (Vampires are fine, but Empowered Implo or melee focus and they are history anyway).
@Lexxan: My build is usually Dark, Summoning, Enlightenment, Logistics + Defense/Sorcery. Sorcery is good while using CotN or Frenzy/Puppet, but waste if you intend to use Mass Spells + Phoenix. Defense, combined with naturally high Necro def stats, works usually better.

Too bad that link doesnīt work for me (it routes me to some Free Games and Online Casino - I had this problem many times, maybe that server doesnīt work for central Europe?), but I guess I can make a picture. I havenīt said that her special is bad or anything, she is just fine for bigger maps - its just her special is classical creature specialization ala "Vampirez now roxxorz" - I prefer Naadirs, because it leaves open possibilities to block shooters/block attackers, which isnīt so easily readable.

Well, maybe I should try Defence. I hardly ever take it though, since I usually aim on the aforementionned skills. And Luck is simply too good to ignore.

I find defence as a better skill than luck for necromancer. Usually you get hitted as a first, low init and so on...

I am still thinking, if I should exchange sorcery with defence in my build, I still find defence as a better option.

Yeah, my luck opinion is quite biased, tbh, because I'm quite a Luck abuser ^^ Soldier's luck + Vampire Princes and Skele Warriors is just too good, too good. Luck really helps them to enhance their rather high damage, excellent.

But I'll Luck a go next time I play Necro. (maybe with Lucretia or Raven, hmm? )

Coincidence? I think not!!!!
