Because that's how it is.  You don't just throw commas into sentences like that.

Quote:
"The time always flies when you are having fun"

I can't see any problem with that sentence.

If you can please answer if my thoughts are correct:

In first sentence, I'd throw in that comma. I learned this at school when we were defining relative clauses.

In the second one, I'd rather wrote 'The time always flies when you have fun' (similar to the Zero Conditional mechanics)

I think I agree with cepth there is no need for a comma - I dont know why, but there is no need for it.

And I am not sure on that: Have fun thing, because all you do is changing the sentences..

Still thank you guys.

Also what I heard from a chinese guy is that it has a separate gender for "God" or something...

...that would be helpful in discussions so off-topic posters won't post crap like "Why He? Why not a she? Or it?"

EDIT: ok i know this is off-topic, not a thread about chinese... but anyway

But do you know the rule for not having the comma in that sentences?

Oh and do anyone know the rule for writing: Catholic with a capital C?

I don't know that there is a rule (there may be one, but as a native speaker I've never had to study English the same way as you guys have).  It's just an obvious problem, at least to me.

Sort of the same as asking "what's the rule for not putting in a comma after every word"?

"Hello, I, Am, The, H, C, Chicken,"

I don't know any rule about this... a comma applies a small "pause" there, and I write how it "sounds" better (without comma in that example)

The english word for good is non-gender tecnicaly(Christians), but in the orginal way you really say god/godess.

For japanes, its kind of complicated. A certain way of saying "i love you", also means "i am in pain". Another note is names. A name is "kimi", and "kimi" also means cousins, and its nice to use in puns. And its ALOT that is that way. That is really why i watch properly subtitles anime with side notes, because on the usual(official) translations its poorly done and they do not add in the notes so the audienmce understands the puns(they are usually critical, otherwise its tends to get boring).
Besides japanes is very non-gender spesific, the only thing ireally can remember implying genders is generally "onna"(and the male counterpart, i think it means female after the useage and translations i have seem) and the respective titles in the familie(brother, sister, dad, mom).
Besides there is no common useage of "you", i do not remember if it exists. In Anime and manga they tend to make big puns out of this like "stalker-san", etc. Besides most names can be used on both genders, but some tend to be allmost completely populated by one gender(such as Sakura).
There is also a male and female way of saying I, not complete unto 1 gender but more of a pointer.
And the honorifics........ it can get very messy.

I thought the only error here is the first word of the sentence, which is not necessary:

Of course you are right about the comma, my bad. I won't teach you something that I actually haven't learned myself correctly lol. It's not a non-relative clause because the sentence doesn't make sense without the part after the man knew. Sorry.

Let's return to the sentence, which Angelito quoted above. (<- now that's a non-relative clause )

Time always flies when you're having fun

a word about Zero conditional first: it's a structure which tells you what always happens under a certain condition. It looks like this:

If/When + Present Simple + Present Simple

If you heat up ice, it melts.

If it rains, the ground gets wet.

etc.

Although the sentence above (Time...) is not a "pure" Zero Conditional example , it meets the criteria that 'time flies (always) when you have fun (each time you do)'.

The question is: why is it in Present Continuous then? (you are having fun)

Or maybe it has a different meaning in continuous form [like I feel (inside me) and I'm feeling (= touching with my hand)] and is always used this way?

Yet I know it is correct with continuous form (a native stated it so no doubt) it confronts with my knowledge so please answer.

The error is: The time - time is uncountable and can therefor not have the infront, so the sentences will be: Time always flies when you are having fun

"Having fun" is a gerund, so this isn't actually continuous form.

Probably a dumb question, but when do you use "drunk" and when do you use "drunken"?

Or does "drunken" not exist at all?

EDIT: alright! my nick at MSN is grammatically correct

I found this tip from the online dictionary:

As an adjective the form drunk is used after a verb while the form drunken is now used only in front of a noun: They were drunk last night. A drunken patron at the restaurant ruined our evening. Using drunk in front of a noun is usually considered unacceptable in formal style, but the phrases drunk driver and drunk driving, which have become fixed expressions, present an exception to this. Drunk and drunken are sometimes used to make a legal distinction, whereby a drunk driver is a driver whose alcohol level exceeds the legal limit, and a drunken driver is a driver who is inebriated.
