i just tryed hourglass and found them garrison guards way to tuff.  with lvl 23 silvan hero and 7 lvl 7's allong with the rest of my full army i got slaughtered in the guard fight.  managed to kill firebirds and maybe 50 of the elementals before they killed off my army.   i think the garriosn has to have about half the troops it has now.  otherwise in that game me and my oppent would be forced to sit arround another 2 or 3 weeks however he didn't try the garison yet and had dungeon.

haha yeah.. I've been working a little on tweaking that. Actually I wanted the map setup to where u can easily build 2 towns and grab some extra troops from the 3rd.. and easily bust through week 5.. week 4 if you are more skilled. Be on the look out for the next map update coming soon

with hourglass, the trick is to level up high enough, and instant travel past the tough guardians.  Because on hard difficulty, they pretty much wipe out most of your force when you break through one side.  Using instant travel, you can bypass the guardians.

Hey that's cheating! haha.. actually I removed instant travel and have made several adjustments for the map.

Here are the most updated versions of the maps

Battle for Honor Version 1.4

-Most notable change in BFH 1.4 is I lessened the middle guards slightly

Hourglass Version 1.3

-Some changes in Hourglass 1.3 are No instant travel, made it slightly easier to build up towns, left the middle guards how they were, but you get more to work with including a level 7 dwelling underground. (fixed the dwelling to match with the right color)

thx for work jb.

hourglass rocked and rocks more now

As for sxshopper "fatal controversy" map, as soon as i load map i instantly win

think u should check that... thx for effort anyways, hope the problem gets solved soon.

Btw any1 else noticed that if u play "too big for you" map with lets say 6-7 comp players, time for computers to end turn is insane?!?!

sorry for the bug, i just tested the map on hotseat and everything was ok, i didn't test it on single player....anyway i fixed it and you can now test it on single player too
+ i made some little changes so the distances between objects aren't that big, and you move through the map quite smoothly because i added new roads, please try it and enjoy

@jb: It's strange, taht most complain about the tough border guards. One of our players mentioned the map was too easy and he broke through after 4 weeks (on hard difficulty).

He suggested to remove or guard the refugge camps, because otherwise the battles are way too easy, and he mentioned that the mines should be guarded by level 3 creatures.

Just my 2 cents. I think it was ok the way it was, but will test 1.2 as well soon. We are going to have a LAN this weekend, so there should be enough feedback gathered (som eexperienced TOH players there as well).

If he/she did it after 4 weeks i would hate to see what was left of their army.  Either had to be incredibly lucky or left with an army vastly depleted.  Very good map jb lots of fun to play just make sure you have the time and the patience to get an army sizable enough to break through.

Thanks for the comments back regarding the maps.

As for Hourglass.. oops there is a bug with the level 7 dwelling underground. I fixed that. I reposted the fixed version and just called it 1.3

As for guarding refugee camps, etc.. I leave it as it is to keep the integrity of the original map. Sure you can get lucky with it, but it was kind of setup to where you can get the camps with a scout and clear stuff at the same time your main hero is off clearing stuff.

He told me, he didn't lose any creatures expect some gargoyles. He explained taht ressurection was the key for winning. He built up only one town (except golems in all three of them), graded up all creatures except radshas and genies and went through the border guard on d1w5. Mass haste and mass divine strength on 600 gemlisn killed death knights in round 2, he protected them with the radshas, so phoenixes couldn't harm them. In the end there werr only some fire elementals left who kept shooting and then he started resurrecting his troops. He is a very trustworthy player, and I believe him.

hi!

What about Dead Mans Lake, will that be made available for TOH-Games? Just played it once against Fiur, and it was great fun. A brilliant map if you ask me

Indeed, I want to see more maps on the ToH maps page but for maps like Dead Mans Lake I need more people to confirm it as a satisfactory map.

No offense intended NeverMind.... But Jb has been the Master map maker for last several years. He is a proven map maker with excellent proven skill at making maps. So he has earned the right to have that kinda leway.

Just my 2 cents.

If you want my HONEST opinion... right now all the maps posted sort of suck, inlcuding Jb's... I'm looking at the complexity and aesthetics however.  The muli maps from UBI have character.  Right now we only have mirror image maps being posted... but that is what tourney players want.  Perfect mirror images so nobody has an advantage, boring looking terrain with terrain sprites that repeat too much.  I get bored with them quickly and move back to the UBI maps.

So nevermind... I have bias on nobody.  It is a simple fact that JB is RELIABLE, with a HISTORY of DEDICATION to his maps -- and I have real communication with him with regards to his maps, and updating them.
