version 0.79b

I downloaded from your latest link and reinstalled the rmg but it still hangs on the smallest of maps...does it matter where the dll (driver?)file goes? I really hope I can get it going... saving that is there a location where people have done random maps and made then available?

Niagaran,

creating the smallest map (72x72) works just fine for me (using both v0.79b and the experimental 0.90b)

The DLL is not a driver, it is used for creating zip files (the maps are just a zip with a different name), and should be in the same folder as the executable. Hope this help.

EDIT: I have updated the experimental RMG to also support various team settings. Since the expansion has been Unleashed onto the world a few hours ago, it might be worth mentioning that my RMGs do not support the expansion (yet). But, well, there is an official RMG that does..

Once again : Good job
A few sugesstions if I may:
1)At some of the passes between the regions to place garrisons
2) There are to many Sanctuaries on some maps(there are 61 on the map from were the picture is taken) – may be you can introduce a condition for some objects to allow only one object of that type for each zone

Genkaku,

that Sanctuary problem you point out is a symptom of a more fundamental problem with the game - there are not many different objects to place!
The only remedy I can think of is having less objects, and disabling the "filthy rich" setting - those maps are just silly.

On your screenshot there are 9 sanctuaries.
But there are also 10 tavernas, 6 war machine factories, 10 marletto towers,  6 mercenary camps, 7 mage vaults, ... what should I have instead?

I have thought about preventing duplicate objects on areas, but that would result in many areas having one of every object. :-/ My hopes are that the expansion has some new interesting map objects I can fill in with.

Does your RMG supports placing ,on the maps it creates, custom objects?
What I would suggest is that we create a  mode with buildings for your RMG to place on the  maps.
Do you think is possible ?!

Genkaku,

there is nothing (as far as I know) to prevent custom content on the maps. I can add any data files into the map files.

My concern would be: how is the effect of activating objects controlled (like what guards are to be defeated inside, rewards, can something be bought inside the object...)? I thought some of this were controlled by the game .exe, but on the other hand, you probably know more about modding than I do ;-)

Oh, and adding garrisons between zones has been on my TODO list for some time :-)

Yep i noticed this thing long time ago when first seen homm too little objects overall in the game ,hopefully they noticed that too when developing the rmg for expansion and added tons of objects but ofcourse the chances for that are VERY LOW (stupid game makers! )

it seems like there are only ten new objects in the expansion.

As a sidenote: people on ubisoft forums seem quite negative toward the official RMG. If those reports are true, I guess there will be a continued interest in my RMG...

First Building.
Nothing fancy. Is an old blacksmith that for 10.000 gold will improve the weapons of your army.(+3 attack)

Interesting.. the effect is really good, but expensive. It is not a no-brainer, and I think I like that :-)
I took a quick peek on the file you sent, but it seems you forgot to include the 3d model - it looks like an ordinary blacksmith for me?

Adding custom objects into the RMG raises a lot of new issues:
- there might be people who do not appricieate these objects? I do not want to turn this RMG project into WoG II.
- quality of submitted objects: we all have opinions what objects are good, and at some point those opinions will conflict. Guess I want to say that I might reject objects I don't think fits in..

 This object is a more of a test object(if it works or not with the RMG).
  I didn't create a new 3d model , is the model used by the game for the War machine factory + the special effect of the obelisk(I used these because they are compatible both with the add-on and the standard version).
  About adding new objects to the game:
  - you can place a button that enables/disables the use of the custom  objects on the creation of the map
  - I think is okay for you to decide what objects will be chosen to be introduced or if you want we can make a poll from time to time with ecah objects to be introduced.

I ask because I played a custom map Master something and lost my seer hut! it shows in the editor but not in game!

- We all know what that meant I will try to compare over the weekend, but as of yet, I'll stick with Tapanis RMG ( when the team play option has been looked into ) - Since it's not ( to my knowledge ) is in the HoF.

Ok, my RMG can add Old Blacksmiths :-)

(Genkaku, if you want the RMG that generates these maps, I can send it to you, but I rather not make it public since it is a development version)

Also, the old blacksmiths does not work properly:

but I guess that was just a test version anyway?

I *should* be able to get my hands on HoF tomorrow, and with some luck you will see a HoF version of this RMG soon thereafter.

 For this object i used only parts that are already in datapak so that it would be compatible with any version of the game.
 The object is in fact a seer hut(that is the standard interface for the seer hut .)
 Sorry about the text (it looked fine when i tested it ). I'll modify it as soon as possible.
 

 Last night I played a map made with your RMG.
 256x256, resources very poor , monsters omfg, heroic difficulty
 It took me 2 moths to obtain the wood and ore mines
  It was insane ,but totally cool
   I loved it ! haven't had this much fun from heroes 3!
