just because they have dragons there is not a bad thing. let's look at it:
Dragons at level 7: 4
Other at level 7: 3
It's not that many dragons. and besides, that's the mythology of the game. I've never heard anyone complain about how many archers there are.

Hmm... Those dragons... If they make a Swamp town! ! I don't see any dragons in it, because a very smily dragon, seems weird.. and it cannot be green because Sylvan has the green dragon... Dragons dont fit in a swamp... But what that matters i dont even think either the orcs or nagas would have a swamp typed town... If nagas obey the water dragon, they would have more clear water i think... and if you look on the map (in Collectors edition) The base we don't have yet is out on the coast! and by the coast there shouldn't be a HUGE BIG SWAMP!!!
So has we've heard, Raelag is to go East which will bring him away from the coast (still looking at the map) And since ORcs are not born swimmers i think he is going for them, because there is a town called Stonehelm on the map! which look rather Orc like! So if raelag travels east he will meet orcs and not nagas! and he was suppose to find orcs... Then the nagas will have to wait...
This was all based on the map and on my mind
PS: there are no swamp looking places on the map of Ashan!

Quote: I've been walking in a lot of swamps, but haven't met any Hydras yet.
I've been sentenced to many dungeons, but haven't met any Hydras down there yet either.
Good point. I just wanted to point out that how these creatures relate to environment isn't factual, but only a matter of custom and/or mythology, and therefore a certain room for creativity should be allowed.
Quote: But imo hydra as 2 levels down from last level is a blasphemy. as lvl 7 id actually see it unique. but then again, we wouldnt want nival to be imaginative enough to actually make 1 unit that is not an ordinary dragon as lvl 7, now would we. but actually, hydra is a reptilian like dragon so i see no problem why did the damn people make him just a dungeon meatshield. they could have at least made him level 6.
I know that people feel very differently about the Hydras. Personally, the Hydra was never a very good level 7 creature for me - it was too slow, and did too small damage. Also, it's specials weren't that interesting. I hold the Hydra to the major part of the blame for the fact that H3 Fortress was one of the weakest towns in the game (that, and the L3 Mage Guild issue). [And this is not mend as an offence to a certain moderator of this forum! ]
I actually think that the properties of the Hydra - high HP, good deffensive abilities - makes for a good pick as high-level tank unit. One might have swapped the Treant and the Hydra at levels 5 and 6 (a promotion of the Unicorn to level 6 wouldn't hurt), but actually I think the current solution makes good sense (also because a level 5 Shadow Witch would have been to much like the Lich and the Inquisitor). To have both Hydra and Treant at level 6 would have made them too similar - especially because Sylvan and Dungeon are opposites of each other, and also have the Dragons.
As for the Dragons - well, andbody who can recall the Rust Dragons would know that they actually dwelled in the Swamp. That is not a call to resurrect the Rust Dragon, but simply to point out that in Heroes mythology, there *are* actually swamp-dwelling Dragons.

These rust dragons? are that those from HoMM3?? Because there was like tons of dragons in that game, or the expansions there were... ?
And hmm... if so Rust dragons , Rust dont sound like a swamp like name... but who cares... I do think they should dump the idea if they get it... No more dragons... not funny anymore!

Here's what I'd like to see in a swamp town (level not indicated here):
1) Giant Dragonflies - Chance to paralyze enemy struck (similar to blind).
2) Gorgons - Death gaze.
3) Shambling Mounds (like in Dungeons & Dragons). This would be the level 7 creature probably. VERY tough and lots of damage.
4) Medusa - Ranged attacker and caster, chance to turn to stone any melee attacker who attacks them. Not sure which spells, probably damage spells or death spells.
5) Crocodiles - Multi-attack with bite and whip with tail anything behind.
6) Tanglevine - Can entangle like Treants. Also can cast spells (not sure which ones).
7) Venomous Snake - Can spit poison (ranged) and will do poison dmg like assassins.
Just a few ideas... Basically, a well rounded "special ability" town. Lacking a little on the ranged and caster side, but many special attacks. Soldier's luck is a huge bonus for this town.
I know it would never happen, but I can dream.

Quote: just finished the expansion. raelag will find orc and demon queen wanna catch Andrei?
by the way who is Andrei? where is agrael?
Listen: Andrei = a kid with royal blood who can get "Evil Queen Isabell"(biara) of the throne
Agrael! Didnt you play the first game? Agrael = Raelag
And what 11 towns?!?! Are you sick... no way ! ! that would be wicked and sick! The max in the whole HoMM history is 8 and i back that up.. 8 was plenty for me... 2 neutrals, 3 Evil, 3 good. Thats how it should be.

Quote: Apart from new towns in the 2nd expansion, I can almost guarantee (good authority source) that there will be actual new spells in it as well (not like the cheap "new spells" which turned out to be runes). Lets hope they advertise it in a way which can't guarantee let-downs (Remember patch 1.1 where everyone expected 10 maps and only got 2 and the supposed 21 new creatures in the expansion, where they class the fortress creatures as 14). Perhaps the new spells I've heard about are just more of the same, although I have a good feeling about this (Even after all the torture or expectations, i am continuing to believe this)
That's interesting, although unnamed "reliable" sources always bugs me. And the new spells seem very likely, since we actually have a range of new spells in HoF, they just aren't activated yet.
And about those 11 towns - I seem to remember that the talk about those 11 towns went something like 'they had 11 towns on the drawing board, but not all of them intended for Heroes 5'. I think it's very unlikely that we will see more than a total of 9 towns in Heroes 5 - but that's just my personal belief.

The logic says that the final number of towns will be 9.
6 regular towns+Fortress+Orcs town+Naga town.
But, look at this map of Ashan:
http://enoriel.free.fr/divers/heroes5/ashan.jpg
If you look well, you can see few more strange towns.
Some of them are wrote like capitols...

I thought the Orcs and barbs had to show up the next add-on.
So back to Orcs and Goblins. Wonder if they put in Rocs and Behemoths, and Cyclopses as well, not to mention old creatures like centaurs and nomads for neutral creatures.
Loooking forward to this

HAH Naga town that is ridiculous. There will be 2 town Stronghold and Conflix. There are 5 elemental units already and the orc race is simply the next race after the dwarfs, because we have diffensive faction and will get attack orientated faction too - orcs(or barbs). And just look at the Rakshasa and the Naga => they are the same.Nobody need nagas. And the Naga race described somewhere here is ablosutely different from the homm3,4 naga creature so why all you titled this race - Naga race - just this of some different name of it.
