2. By: expert confusion spell, blocking it, frenzy spell(frenzied unit never shoots), blind spell(no actions no shooting  ), destroying ammo cart and waiting till they run out of shots, puppet master spell(this I am not sure)
And btw, destroying the shooter stack .

Actually it still shoots with puppet master. A little hint: You can approach this indirectly, the remaining way(s) may not be tied to the shooter unit itself

When you Battle Dive with your Griffins and there are no more creatures left on the battlefield, the shooters can't shoot

I think it doesn't shoot with Puppet unless you want it.
You control the creature. You can put it to defend, wait or move or attack in melee
