2. expert confusion,
blocking it,
frenzy,
blind,
waiting until it runs out of shots,
battle dive if there are no other units to shoot at,
also bad morale = no action at all

Just to give a summary. Only questions 2 and 6 remains. So far, answers given are these:
2. How can an enemy shooter's ranged attack be disabled?
By: expert confusion spell, blocking it, frenzy spell(frenzied unit never shoots), blind spell(no actions no shooting ), destroying ammo cart and waiting till they run out of shots, puppet master spell(this I am not sure) (and Battle Diving with Griffins if they are the only unit present).
A couple of things remaining - however, these relate not to the "target" ranged unit, but requires other units are present on the battlefield.
6. What does the fire resistance ability protect against?
Fire spells (Eldritch Arrow, Fireball, Armageddon, Firewall); Hellfire; Fiery wrath; Flaming Arrows; Fire Shield; Magma Shield.
A couple of things are still missing.

Well, I think I've still got two tries so let's use one of them:
6. If the lacking were sering fires and hellwrath, I counted them as additions to hellfire.

2. maybe we can add Firewall: if the shooter does not move, he takes damage. However, I agree that shooting is not really "disabled".

Yes, Searing Fires and Hellwrath was indeed what was listed on my note.

What about soulfire, corrupted soil and mana burst? They all deal fire damage - there's this fire splash when units are hit with those.

Yes, but they do not DEAL fire damage as far as I know, although their animation suggests something else.

I'm not sure about Soulfire and Corrupted Soil, but I know that Elvin tested Mana Burst and found that it was NOT affected. If you think this is wrong, you'll have to wait 'til he is back, sorry.

Eh, that was an addition on my account - I might be mistaken, I just know that the spell has the Fire descriptor since 2.1, so I thought it applied. Might be mistaken - either way, that was just to specify the "Fire spells".

About number 2 ... The remaining answers on the list are kind of included in the already given answers, so I'll just look through the answers for this one, and then see whether I think there's one who deserves a point for that. Maybe the remaining ones can be left for a bonus, then.
EDIT > I will give the point for #2 to Sfidanza, who first came up with the general solutions to this question: Blocking it, Confusion, Blind and Frenzy. Puppet Master indirectly gives the same result, because you can just choose not to shoot. The Griffin suggestion is not a generally applicable solution, and you cannot presently affect enemy morale unless you are Necromancer and/or have Nightmares. There are a couple of other things you can do, but all of them require specific combat situations. I might give bonus to the one who comes up with the remaining ones.

None of these deals fire damage even if the animation shows so. I was confused myself a short time ago. Also eldritch arrow although not a fire spell it acts as it is for fire resistance.

Actually it doesn't really matter because the amount of damage depends on the damage of the fire spell you cast. If the enemy is immune to fire it won't deal any damage either way.
