WCL: Welcome to new Homm3 version - T.E.!

Today I proudly present Heroes of Might and Magic III Tournament Edition (TE) 1.03q! It's much better and balanced than Shadow of Death or other versions. Why? Click here for details!

Please post here your feedback about TE and any future ideas/needs.

SAG's feedback:
- Installation took: 40 minutes
- Games played on TE: 25+
- Overall satisfaction: 10
- What i like best: army exchange buttons and army split hot keys, towns more balanced, enhanced creature specialists
- What I like less: gems in nagabank
- Creature experience: tested both
- Tax on army: disabled
dimi's feedback:
- Installation took: less than 20 minutes [Of course reading the manual is another issue]
- Games played on TE: 1
- Overall satisfaction: 10
- What i like best: Army Exchange/Split/Combine hot keys. New properties for Scouting. Harpies can stay were they hit. Witch hut question. New heroes have 3 stacks always. Non-native heroes are not flooded with fodders. Always start with level2 building. Pixies require Resource Silo.
- What I like less: Removing good abilities from magic heroes. Slow and Haste must be on the same level.
- Creature experience: enabled (curiosity I guess)
- Tax on army: enabled (I slipped that option when I started the game)
XSI's feedback:
- Installation took: about 5 mins (i had WOG preinstaled)
- Number of games played on TE: 20+
- Overall satisfaction: between 9-10
- What i like best: seriously improved game interface, a lot of operation with just 1 click, like:army split, buy all, army exchange,
less pop up windows, thats all just perfect; i like crere experience, i think it makes some sense, and i agre creature who killed 20 units should be better then creature killed 2 units. I found naga bank change to gems reasonable to tower and too painfull for fortress and dungeon. I like almost all spels system changing, found very nice to have weakness, air shield, quicksand lvl 1, and some other as well. slow lvl 2 i agree with that too.
Not important but fun change: renaming hero or town
- What I like less: its heroes clases, i would have no problem with that on wog, pretty interesting feature, but it changes a standart sod, so this should be dissabled ;
tax on army, i found it ridiculous, u already paid 4 exple for army building and upgrade, and for army itself, why the hell charge even more? its painfull especially on poorer maps (i like them more)

Hi,

Some questions:

- Is it possible to switch between WoG and TE w/o reinstall? Same way as  SoD/TE?

- On the link above I can see only 4 lines at one time. Scrolling ok, but could You make it bigger?

Yes possible same way as SOD/TE. Copy \DATA\ after WOG installation.

Some interesting changings as far as I can see.
But the logistic changing seems to be a joke in my eyes. 5% bonus to log skill in general...means 5% of 30% (log expert) which would be 1.5%, or additional 5% to 30%, which would be around 1 more tile movement a day...wow....then u can delete that speciality at all...no sense.

My suggestion: Let the log skill be as it is...but give basic navigation or basic eagle eye to all those log special heroes as second starting skill...

he he...no, it's additional 5% to total 35%. Log itself is a great bonus, many ppl play no log born as you know

Regarding other skills - they were enhanced to be more valuable.

I have just downloaded & extracted the TE install file, and seen lots of new maps with special scripts for those maps only.
Could You tell a few words about these maps? I am lazy to read over all ERMs today.

BTW, if I see correctly, then TE installer will not overwrite *.lod, so You only have to move Data/s and TXT files, to be able to play SoD/WoG/TE. This trick saves a lot of disk space.

Yet another question: I would see my Neutral spells script in TE, but it's not yet multiplayer ready. Am not familiar with multiplayer compatible programing. Who should I contact?

i don't play fix maps so i can't help you here.

I know for sure that LOD files are overwritten during the game - host's settings are written into LOD's on both PCs. So, your "trick" will damage original SOD. Best of all - just make \DATA\ copy for each version.

The change to 1.5 weekly growth for Phoenix means they only get three instead of four, right? That seems much better, although with rebirth it's still a little iffy.

2 with citadel and 3 with castle. Conflux has more changes (e.g. in heroes stats, skills) so it's a playable town now. Each town has more good starting heroes now.

Seem great, especially exchange troop button.
But it's not compatible with SoD, so will get time for ppl adapt and agree to download play this patch.
Trying to download now, but it seem i cant download with IDM, always 200KB then complete

Try to download by Internet Explorer or something like this. Try to delete temporary internet files. Try to "Save AS" with same name and select "overwrite existing file". Hope it will help

Many units were slightly adjusted (for example their price, weekly growth, phoenixes speed is 19 now). No big changes however. Read in manual for more details

@ SAG: Neutral spells gives the "ability" to all heroes to convert mana points into temporary movement points, and vice versa. /temporary means: movement points for actual day/

This way magic heroes are much more useful. They don't have to go home for mana, but they pay a lot of movement/time for that.
At high level they can use up tons of mana to speed up their journey.
No spellbook required. Actual conversion factor depends on sum of base primary skills, handled by function call. (base: w/o arties)
This spell gives You only movement/mana, so You still have to fight guards.
Conversion factor needs to be rebalanced. I got almost no feedback, but it seems, that with my current settings magic heroes are overpowered.
/ I am not sure. 'cause I'm also using Masters of Magic options 2 &4/
Right now I use the same conversion factor for both direction,

, but it can be improved very easily.

Side effects:
If You convert movement to mana before boarding/unboarding, and mana to movement after, then You will not loose movement.
So it may be used to emulate the See Captain's hat.
Since most of the online players like the 'NO water' rule, it is ok.

AI is supported. However, I'm using some random numbers in AI part, and never tested the human part online, so I guess that it would desync the game in multiplayer.. here I need help to make it multiplayer ready.

proposal about mana/movement conversion is really strange...i personally don't like this idea, however i will talk to developers anyway. lol hero with combo well will never stop?

Side effect. Can be corrected. Or that +1,2,3 mana stuff could be the ultimate artifact.
Thanks for feedback. I will correct this bug.

On the other hand, if You disable all adventure spells, the game will be slow. Neutral spells would speed up things. And it would be an ERM option, not hard-coded change.
