Xarfax, don't you know when to stop? Your trolling really isn't amusing. 
HoMM III with HoMM V graphics will not work. HoMM III has realistic-style graphics and HoMM V has cartoony Warcraft style ones. Add that to the fact that the DS isn't really good at portraying realistic environments, and you have one ugly-looking game.
IMO, HoMM V would be best suited to the DS because of its 3-Dness and Nintendo-style graphics.

I've seen Metroid games play, and IMO they are not exactly what I would call "realistic". I've also seen Hunters played, and I remember that as being cartoony also.
Heroes 3 would be better suited, IMO, to something like the PSP that does more realistic graphics. Heroes V is already Nintendo-style graphics, so that's a small transition there. Add that to the fact that people who started playing with HoMM V will have no desire to play III, and it makes it almost certain that V would be the one on the DS, if any.
Also, I had an idea regarding the smallness of things on the adventure map. Make the top screen a Kingdom View window, where you can pinpoint the location of everything, and make the bottom screen a zoomable 3-D window where your hero moves around.
Or the screens could be reversed, depending on how easy it is to use one or the other, I really don't know.

Perhaps the name of this thread should be changed, if we're adding in new towns it's not exactly HoMM III.
IMO new towns should be avoided, as they can upset balance somewhat dramatically, as we saw with Conflux. They're still fun, but not having any will make for a smoother transition.

I mean to "HoMM" rather than "H3", as this is obviously no longer H3. I would also submit that "Grove" sounds horribly unfitting for Dark Elves, who normally don't sit around in trees like happy little elves.

If we change the name of this thread, it won't belong in the Library anymore. Don't know where it'll go really. Anyway, Grove suits the forest elves a lot better than it does the dark elves.

Dark Elves need to live in some bleak, ominous place such as the underground, or Naggaroth in WHFB. (HoMM V DE are basically copy-pasted from WHFB). Forests just don't feel right for them.
We should find somewhere else where it would fit, because this really isn't H3 on DS anymore.

to be fair even if we get heroes III onto DS there's still the little matter of game improvement because there are so many things that could be improved on, like a greater range of spells, or specialising in one sort of magic, different creatures, artifacts etc, *flying pigs* etc. but we need to send a sort of petition around with the proposal, a basic outline of the game and signitures of the HOMM 3 fans, to be fair we won't do all the work, just specify the things that need to be. We're not doing Ubisoft's job for them.
