I'm considering going to the Alara Reborn prerelease. Opinions on whether or not I should? Last I've been to was Shadowmoor, which I enjoyed and did well at. I drafted SoA/SoA/CON once and overdid the fixing and am afraid I'd mess up on that account this time as well. The format is sealed.
EDIT: I'll probably go anyway, I'm just wondering if I should send an email to try and secure a spot, since there's usually limited product.

I thought it was Drowner deck, but i can't find any drowner deck.. The only thing i can find is "Drowner of Secrets deck" But is that it?
Last year it would have been called Extended. But yeah, crap.deck sounds about right.

After Alara Reborn comes out, Mill will hafe a lot more goodies to choose from. I personally love milling decks, and my main deck that I like is Standard Legal Lockdown Mill, which is an evil combination.
I'm trying to think of how a Jaya Ballard deck with a blue spin of it would work. But every variation just doens't have enough going for it. Obviously, Jaya will be the win con,. but I don't know what else would work. I also thoughtabout making it a Martial Coup deck, like Coup d'tat (the name) with Mark of Asylum sparing the red-ritualized Coup-lings from Jaya's Uber.

After reading tons of mill, burn and Alt-win decks through, i can see your point! Mill dekcs is cool.. Unfortunatly the mill decks with twincast and glimpse is not very popular :S
I bought a Burn deck yesterday! (Not from the site i was studying on, but inspiret by some of the pro's..
I hope it's good...
----
But tell me, what is it about that Arc Slogger? I think he sucks? But why do so many high rated burn decks have them?

Why do you dislike Arc-Slogger? It costs a lot, yes, but it comes with three or four built-in Shocks. What's not to like?

The prerelease was much more fun than I had at anything from Planar Chaos to Morningtide. That being said, I ended up one victory short of the top eight, so no prizes for me.
My sealed pool had the following rares:
Realm Razer
Master of Etherium
Salvage Titan
Identity Crisis
Mycoid Shepherd
Filigree Angel

Wow... the Master and Golem plus Filligree Angel? I've got a feeling I know what you did. With the Master followed up by the Angel (providing you've got a lot of artifacts) you've gotta a nice little shield of life and living right there.
Identity Crisis would be your win con against Counter wars and reanimation, that would just be terrible. Overbeing decks would suffer too. My guess is you didn't use very much of that.
Mycoid Shepherd would be too much of a liabilty than a nice source of life.
I'm assuming these are the rares you picked, right? Having never been to a sealed function, I'm going by knowledge and not experience.

What do you mean, picked? They were in my sealed pool. I had no choice in the matter.
Also, I went with Naya + minor black splash. Second turn Cerodon Yearling into third turn foil Woolly Thoctar followed up by a 3/3 Wild Nacatl and second Yearling Cerodon on fourth turn was too good to trade for three on-theme rares in another deck.
And Mycoid Shepherd actually did me really well. The extra white mana in the cost was a bit of a bummer, but the life gain did help.

I dislike the cost for the extra shocks.. Top 10 library..
It could be usefull against everything else than mill decks.. But i'd rather use Goblin Charbelchner..

To any competitive mill deck, your use of Arc-Slogger doesn't mean much.
Probably because mill only ever worked competitively in combo decks.

Woock is right in that.
Mill decks usually fall short in the defense department, often devoting to many resources to the target of the library without leaving too much home to keep your life total healthy. Combo Mill really was the only way a deck could quickly get the game over with, quickly meaning before you die.
However, I find Mill and Lockdown have a lot of friends with each other. Most mills are Blue Black, and splashing white for some lockdown or life would make a good way to survive. Platinum Angel with some indestructibility also makes a fine shield. Back when Time Spiral was in Standard, the three consecutive Chronomantic Escapes were how a lot of Mill decks stayed afloat.
@Woock - Oh, I've just never been exposed to the vernacular of the Sealed Draft. I'll have to read up on it.
Well, in Naya Beatdown, the Mycoid Shepherds probably did like you a lot. Too bad you didn't get Mayael's Aria (that would just be cruel)

I just noticed that I forgot to mention the Akrasan Squire, which is a great one-drop and suited my deck pretty well. Making that Thoctar smash face for 6 instead of 5 on that fourth turn was pretty grand

The best mill decks are either combo decks or things lockdown type decks like Turbofog or Stasis.
