DoW??I hear about DoW for the first time Till now I've heard only about WoW.Anyway what kind of game it is-is it like WoW?

DoW is short for Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War. Its a gothic sci-fi style RTS. DoW is based on Warhammer 40k miniature game created by Games Workshop around 1982. Fun fact: Blizzard used this games races as a prototype to create Starcraft races and Warcraft orcs.

DoW is a Wh40k based Sci-Fi RTS... and it's awesome.
In DoW, there are only two resources: Requisition and Power.
Requisition is gained by controlling certain points on the map, this forces the player to expand his territory, which means that the battle will be pretty much constant as players strive to control as much area as possible.
The other resource is power, this is simply gained by building Plasma Generators...
The resources system is simple because the game is all about battles... BATTLES! Big Orks ripping puny humans apart while Chaos summons Daemons that flames them and... anyway, it's extremly intense 
You don't need the full game + all expansions, you can simply buy the latest one, Soulstorm and you'll get to play as all nine factions in single player, online however, you'll only have the Dark Eldar and Sisters of Battle. To gain acess to the other 7 online, you'll have to get the other games too and enter their CD-key.
The 9 factions are:
Space Marines: Genetically enhanced humans that serve as the Emperor's elite force. Hates everything that isn't human.
This faction is versatile but pretty general, they have counters for everything but they do not excel in any particular area, their vehicles kick ass though.
Chaos: Corrupted Humans, but not really evil. There really isn't anyone evil in WH40K, Chaos promotes free will... which is good... but they also have demons and stuff... eternal suffering bla bla...
Chaos excels at Assaults, they are experts at quickly getting their troops to the battle by summoning etc.
Orks: Orks are a bit special... they need to build Waaagh! Banners to increase their special resource, the Waaagh! resource. The bigger and more banners a team has, the more Orks will be tempted to join their cause, Orks are often the most numerous on the battlefield.
Eldar: The mysterious Eldar are the most specialized faction in the game, for example, their Howling Banshees excel in close combat, but completely sucks in ranged. They also use Webway gates to transport their units around the map, and even their whole base! Their leader, the Farseer, also excels at spells, and may be the best hero in the whole game.
Dark Eldar: The Dark Eldar have no Webway gates, but they completely rock at assaulting. They are good at raiding bases, making quick assaults and retreat if things turn out bad, while they share the assault aspect of Chaos, they're pretty fragile. They also have their own special resource, the souls of the fallen. As a Dark Eldar player collects souls, he/she gains access to special spells and abilities.
Necrons: The WH40K's undead... they're a mechanical race whose sole goal is the extermination of all life in the universe. They are a slow advancing race who's leader helps the other units by boosting them with invisiblity etc, he can also revive the dead and transform into one out of 2 Gods. They're special in that they don't use the Requistion resource, they only need Power. The points that produce Requistion are instead used to boost the pace at which your buldings produce units. The Necrons ultimate goal in a match is to awaken their Monolith, which turns their HQ building into a moving, extremly powerful super-tank which can still produce units.
Tau: The Tau is my favourite faction. They are in many ways a specialized faction. They have the best ranged infantry in the game, and powerful Battlesuits that help them in combat. The Tau itself sucks at melee, but fortunately, they have other Alien races to help them. Such as the Kroot and Vespid.
The Sisters of Battle: The battle nuns of the emperor. Their favourite tool is fire, which heavily damages the enemy's morale. Thus they are experts at taking down infantry, they're pretty fragile however, since they don't have the genetical enchantments of the Space Marines. To compensate for this, the Sisters of Battle have a special resource, Faith. This resource is gained by building special buldings and units, this energy can then be used to activate units' special abilities.
Imperial Guard: This faction represents the normal human in the universe, their base unit is the Guardsmen squad, a low-morale... low on everything unit... But they're numerous! This faction relies on numbers and commanders to win. Commanders give their units morale and makes sure that they don't run away, while their extremly powerful vehicles crushes the enemy. Once you get the Baneblade, the Imperial Guards' most powerful vehicle, you'll have fun... trust me.
Overall, the best RTS I've ever played, go buy it, now.
EDIT: Or wait for the second game, which will rock too. It'll be very different though.

For the value, Dawn of War Platinum is the way to go. You get: Dawn of War, Winter Assault, and Dark Crusade for $30 or so. You don't get Soulstorm but that's not a huge loss. Until Soulstorm is patched, I wouldn't bother playing it. You'll lose out on the Sisters of Battle and Dark Eldar but that's not a major loss at the moment.

One of the best RTS game ever. I like new factions in SS.
But still Eldars are one and only.

Yeah, but they're pretty inbalanced right now... people often kick players who use them...
You know, 3 warlock-Guardian squads with Farseer support can take out almost anything in early game.

Well, most people complains about Eldars. They are "little" imba but they're not only. Winner of imba award - Dark Eldars
Only faction that are hard to play with(balanced)is Imperial Guard.
And theres alwost no IG players. Only pro IG player was DAS.
Anyway Im still waiting for that patch. It should be done much earlier but...........its Relic.

The Necrons used to be one of the strongest races in the games. After Soulstorm, they are at the bottom of the barrel. They just didn't get hit with a nerf stick. An airplane carrying nerf sticks crashed into them.

@Soho: Hmm... yeah I guess you're right 
but just so ya know, I never kick any players... that is, if they're not using the SoB glitch or something 
Oh, and Relic is probably just thorough, which is good, considering the amount of bugs we have right now...

Like there's any excuse for the patch status anymore. Hell, I'll probably get my bar results before the patch is released.
Oh wait, I already used that one. Ok... America will have a new President before Soulstorm is patched. That's better.

After many months Relic finally released the patch today. Go online and it should automatically download it. Alternatively, you can use the link at the top of the page.
Personally, I'll wait until they balance out the Necrons before I play Soulstorm again. It's way too little too late for me to even bother. There's little point in wasting more time on games I've already beaten.
