From within the Center Pellana’s underling says something in a warning tone, only to be drowned out by the fighting outside. Then a second voice interrupts him, more clearly:
“I’d do what the boss says, kiddies, or the nurse here gets it.”
Those of the defenders within sight of the doorway or windows can make out a pair of Bandra Grunts entering the main lobby from the back, a Wispaferyn floating behind them. One of them has Nurse Joy’s arms behind her back and a knife at her throat.

"I could use haze or smog, it's a chance but it might work?" Brona hissed, low enough to avoid the grunts to hear it but making sure those close enough heard. "Any ideas? It'd be a pity giving up."

"I see..." Christian sighed as he sat down on the ground "Well then, I guess that's one nurse less here in Helnith." Christian snapped his fingers as he shouted "Wispaferyn, helix flame the nurse!"
Christian then turned to the gravler still remaining "If you would honor us with your fireworks, Gravler. SELF-DESTRUCT!"
The other grunts gives Christian a horrofied look as they recall their pokémon and make a run for it.
Christian smiles and shoutes to the two grunts in the center "While your at it, take as any supplies you see inside the center!"
"Scyther, use pursuit on any pokémon that attempts to return to their pokéballs before the self-destruct blows. If none of them tries, use wing attack on anyone who attempts to attack Gravler!"

Draloed’s attempt to commune with Salerdia yields a strange vision…
He is high above an unfamiliar city. Below, combat has broken out between Team Bandra and the town’s defenders. The battle is obscured by a sandstorm, humans and Pokemon on both sides discolored by dust and sand, but two figures stand out among the rest as though highlighted.
One he recognizes as Selene, battling with her Tyranitar amidst a swirl of Bandra Grunts and Pokemon.
The other is a man in his forties, someone Draloed has never seen before. The people he battles beside are using a wider mix of Pokemon species than the Bandra Grunts, some familiar, some not, and yet Draloed has the sense that he knows all of them in spite of this. He also notes that they are losing.
He utters a piercing, oddly feminine cry and dives down to join the fray. The rest is lost as the scene fades to white.
Draloed shakes out of his vision just in time to hear the Bandra Officer order a Helix Flame on the nurse.

After asking for help draloed came to the realization that his comrades had a plan. he had to help too... but how?
Astonish may force a pokemon to flinch. perhaps if he got lucky that may help.
"Zucruu, use astonish on wispafyren. Skorupi return. Pylus get behind Aron. Aron just try to protect Pylus from any attacks."

Mina was just about to tell Brona, ‘worth a shot!’ when everything fell apart at once.
It started when her Pokedex breee’d.
Mina read the text as unobtrusively as she could and nodded very slightly, thinking furiously for a way to get the Electric type inside the Center without tipping the goons off or forcing their hand.

Oh drat. Misty! There goes our element of surprise!

Oh he did NOT, she thought disbelievingly, the beginnings of amusement creeping into the thought.
“Forgetting something?” Mina asked the Officer, grinning ferally.
“Misty, use Growlithe!” she called to her friend. “Pidgey, come out here and Twister! Pikachu, Thundershock any of them left afterwards! Sandshrew, help protect Gastly!” She raised her voice to carry into the Center. “Oodramer, Vortex! Hold those goons here!”

"Growlithe! Intercept that Helix Flame!" Called Misty. "Dang it would have WORKED TOO, she thought. "Evan Tackle the Scyther, Stripes Headbutt that Graveler! Hedge Rapid Spin the goon holding the Nurse!" Drat, he called her bluff. No help for it now.

Outside the Center the battle has become much more chaotic, as the goons scramble towards the houses in town and the defenders wipe out the Bandra Pokemon left behind. Mina’s Sandshrew and Brona’s Rhyhorn watch Scyther zoom past, having been deflected from his course by the light of recall from Draloed.
Draloed attempts to recall Sting!
Scyther uses Pursuit! ((Roll = 84 – miss!))
Unfortunately for Scyther, four volleys of sand have blurred his vision badly, and he whiffs harmlessly past. Rhyhorn turns and charges after the Bug type, but is beaten to the punch.
Pidgey uses Twister!
Graveler is hit for 8 damage!
Graveler faints!
Scyther is hit for 8 damage!
Pikachu uses Thundershock!
Rhyhorn’s Lightningrod redirected the attack!
No effect!
Mina glances over at Rhyhorn. Drat. Forgot about that…
Stripes and Gastly make to gang up on the unconscious Graveler until it is recalled, Scyther is not so lucky as Evan and Brona’s Rhyhorn both slam into him, ensuring he does not get up again.
Pylus peers out from behind Ironsides just in time to see Magby waddle up to the Bandra Officer and give him a face full of Smog. ((Roll = 23 – hit!)) Christian’s eyes and throat burn from the attack, and even though Wobbuffet’s Safeguard is protecting him from being poisoned directly it still does (minor) damage.
Pellana and Adrina take the visitors’ pounding of the Bandra Pokemon still by the Center as their cue to take off with their Pokemon after the fleeing goons; the latter are approaching the nearest houses ((number 1 and 3 on the map)) at a run and calling out their Pokemon again, obviously intent on mischief.
Inside the Center, the goon restraining Nurse Joy throws her at his Pokemon and turns to run. His partner grabs the remaining supplies off the front desk and follows—only to have negative energy erupt from the ground and wrap around his legs, trapping him in place. ((Quick Claw Roll = 11!))
Growlithe races against the Wispaferyn. His speed boost makes him a good bit faster, but the Bug type is much, much closer…he leaps, and at the last moment he interposes himself between the Wispaferyn and the nurse. The floating bug’s attack collides with the fire pup and he falls to the ground with a yelp, then gets back up again— unharmed, much to the surprise of the Grunts who missed his earlier interception. Zucruu flutters in the door after him, followed by Rattata, and both Pokemon peg the bug with their attacks.
Zucruu uses Astonish!
Wispaferyn is hit for 5 damage!
Rattata uses Hyper Fang! ((Roll = 28 – hit!))
Wispaferyn is hit for 13 damage!
Hedge slams into the other goon, driving the air from his lungs and knocking him to the ground.
Snorlax uses Amnesia!
Snorlax’s Special Defense rises sharply!
Snorlax used held leftovers to restore 5 HP!

Brushing off the pain caused by the smog attack and recalls Scyther. He then turned to Brona, gives him a cold stare before falling asleep, for no apperant reason...and he was still standing.

Well Misty isn't about to take any chances with the last bug. "Growlithe, intercept ANY attacks by that Wispaferyn!"
"Stripes, Evan..try to intercept the goons headed to the houses. Hedge focus on the Wispaferyn!" too many targets, not enough time. "Hedge rapid spin on the Wispaferyn! Stripes headbutt any you can reach. Evan, tackle any one that Stripes can't!"
Misty calls out "Growlithe and the other three have this bug. Everybody else STOP THOSE GOONS!"

No. It can’t be.
The Bandra Officer was…snoring faintly. And there was only one trainer Mina knew who could fall asleep in the middle of combat.
Doubt and denial warred with the beginnings of rage and betrayal; she didn’t want to believe, but…
She suppressed the feelings with effort. Worry about it later. Gotta deal with the goons first.
Mina took the Great Ball off her belt and threw it into the air so it opened at her feet, the light within forming rather anticlimactically into her little green Natu.
“Natu! Teleport those goons back here! Pidgey, Pikachu, use Quick Attack to knock them over—if they don’t want to play with us we’ll make them!” Mina raised her voice to reach inside the Center. “Oodramer, keep holding those goons with Vortex! Sandshrew, help out however you can!”

The Grunts inside the Center are looking to cut and run. The goon with the desk supplies struggles to free his legs from the weird energy (to no avail) while the other is looking increasingly nervous…
Wispaferyn D uses Smokescreen!
Accuracy of all foes falls!
Misty’s Growlithe looks a little confused at how to intercept this, and settles for barking irritably at the bug.
Rattata uses Hyper Fang! ((Roll = 38 – hit!))
Wispaferyn D is hit for 14 damage!
About then the goon with the Wispaferyn seems to realize just how deep he’s in—half-a-dozen opposing Pokemon against his one, his fellow goon trapped in place by negative energy, his Officer standing outside motionless while the rest of his comrades scatter—and tries to back inconspicuously out the door. Unfortunately for him Sandshrew slipped behind him while he was reflecting on being doomed and he trips, falling flat on his back. Oodramer traps him in turn before he can make another attempt.
Snorlax uses Curse!
Snorlax’s Attack rises!
Snorlax’s Defense rises!
Snorlax’s Speed falls!
Hedge uses Rapid Spin! ((Roll = 88 – hit!))
Hedge spins into the floating bug, after hitting the front desk at an angle to launch himself into the air. The smoke makes him miscalculate a bit, and he just barely grazes the Fire type.
Wispaferyn is hit for 4 damage!
Snorlax used held leftovers to restore 5 HP!
The first Grunt manages to free himself at last as the first Vortex dissipates, and staggers toward the back door. He is now barefoot, and his uniform ends in tattered remnants just below the knees, the negative energy having eaten away the fabric and discolored the skin beneath.
Outside, several Pokemon race after the fleeing Grunts. Two have run west ((Grunt 1 and 2)), two south ((Grunt 3 and 4)).
Pellana and Adrina are chasing after the first pair. The two women falter as the faster of the two Grunts throws his arm up with a cry—a tiny blur of blue and purple has swooped in front of him. Zucruu glows faintly, and in spite of the fact that the Poison type has no eyes the Grunt is overcome with the same sensation as his Officer—the thought of fleeing can no longer even cross his mind.
Pidgey and Pikachu impact the other in the chest and stomach, sending him to the ground. Pellana and Adrina are able to catch up, and their Pokemon rush forward. Both Grunts send out their Pokemon in an attempt to defend themselves; two Machop and a Wispaferyn materialize.
Evan and Stripes head south, chasing after the other two goons. They are scant yards away from the Bandra trainers when a little green ball flutters atop one Grunt’s head, chirps “Natu!”, and then both bird and Bandra Grunt vanish.
The goon reappears in front of the Pokemon Center, looking befuddled. Natu hops back to Mina while the Grunt recovers from his abrupt change of position.
“Guess you can only Teleport one person at a time?” Mina queries. Natu trills something back at her in Pokespeak, but as it doesn’t sound either negative or positive, she’s just as much in the dark as she’d been before she asked.
Misty’s Pokemon manage to overcome the brief interruption to run the other Grunt down and knock him over; he sends out his Wobbuffet to protect himself.
And then, a short distance away, the tower door opens…
((Dun dun dun!
Lucky Chant has now ended, though most of the NPCs are outside of its range anyway. >.>
