Never heard of Fizban. Does he have any supernatural resistance, endurance or anything similar? Normally I'd vote Elminster but but I'd want some more info before I can decide.

Both of these powerful contestants would send Gandalf home with his tail between his legs.  Maybe even Merlin would tremble in their wake.  Paladine is by no means a push over, even in a purely magical duel.  Though he pretends to be innept and bumbling, he has spells unheard of by mortal man.

Elminster is powerful, but he has been beaten before.  He is no pushover, however, and has spells long forgotten by anybody but him.  Now if only we could add Raistlin and Kelben Blackstaff to the frey.  Since I sponsored this I am not voting .

Fizban never seems to unleash much in the Chronicles besides tossing some fireballs around, which in DnD terms, isn't that amazing. Dragonlance magic is weird. If Fizban truly could do everything that his deity aspect can, I don't think even Elminister could take him down, but Fizban seems to be a much more limited incarnation.

Elminster is a level 30+ mage, so my vote goes to him.

I give it to old Terminsel hands down.  God or no god, I don't see Fizban going to hell and back.

Just magic? so no fists, swords or anything?
Thats unfair, seeing as Fizban is the god of something other than magic
BUT if he is the god of luck(and from mythicals summary it can be supposed as so) Elmerthingy will have terrible luck and trip over roots, have a spider fall on him while hes casting a spell and scare the sheog out of him, or just plain misplace his spell book and not be able to remember spells. Fizban however will be able to find cover from Elmerthingys fireballs, have a nice clear ground free of treebranches etc.

What is fizban the god of?

Fizban is an incarnation of Paladine, who is the head deity of the good pantheon. So I'd assume if Fizban had full access to Paladine's powers, he could wipe out Elminster. But Fizban never seems to do anything spectacular, so I don't know. The Dragonlance authors leave it vague.

lol, well the Chronicles were made back in the 80s, while DnD was still a cult game, so the word "Paladin" as the lawful good class wasn't well known. It was just an obscure word for a knight back in the crusades.

Paladine fizban's true form, of course we are assuming he can not just 'smite' Elminster.  He is the God of Good Dragons, but for this fight no dragon form/immunities.   Fizban only pretends to be innept, and is anything but (he always pulls out just the spell needed at the last possible time).

Elminster has indeed been through things that would have killed normal men.  Some even think he himself is a god.  I think this is closer then people think, but doesn't matter what I think.  (I would go with Eleminster in this case also but just barely).

If Fizban don't forget the Fireball spell, I say Fizban!

*Yuhu! Gandalf wins! Dumbledore can cast mortal spells very fastly, but gandalf is more powerful (he isn't human) and also can win the fight in melle with his sword!

**what do u think about a Saphira (from the Inheritance Cycle) VS Smaug (from The Hobbit)?

WHO WOULD WIN?

Sharpshooter

The best unit in Homm3, extremely rare, extremely powerfull, in the hands of Gelu they could have enslaved the whole of Erathia(if it had not exploded)

Arcane Archer

Not so rare, can be recruited at your local sylvan town. Have knockback, and no ranged penalty.

You're wrong. Gnolls are the best creatures in the HoMM 3.

But my answer: Sharpshooter would win. (because it's the best shooting creature in the whole HoMM world)
