as i understand the original replay is gone, could someone please make "an eventual replay"? Week 3 forces (any race) taking out nerfed garrison without heavy losses?

Come on, guys! If you think about it there was nothing spectacular. I got really annoyed as I lost 2 thanes in the most stupid way. I presume that in offline (saving/loading) one might take that garrison much faster...

Yeah, we played 3.0.

Here is the part I dont understand....

Lose Most of army Week#1
Disease Week#2
Fever Week#3

Fight Water Garrison and 2 FULL Sunken Temples Week 4 Day 1

What army could you have? It would be damn hard to do that week 4 day 1 with normal full growth all 3 weeks and no losses... and you did it with less then 1 weeks army?????

You should beable to remmeber exactly what you had and how you did.. I would like a detailed Ceasar like breakdown of the battle..

As FORMER #1 last season... you need to set an example and share your amazing feat details.

But hold on guys.

That replay maybe a secret, but why dont we gather all info, and try to imagine how that battle went:

Here is what we know:

Karli had following skills:

Expert war machines - tripple ballista
Advanced attack - flaming ballista
Advanced log - warpath
Luck - (soldier's luck, dwarfen luck?)
Light magic

Light magic is presumption, I think Strider had it, thats why he was looking for resurrection in the town.

We know that Karli had book of light, so regeneration and resurrection is available.

With boots of swift journey and early warpath Karli must visited all the map by end of week 3. At lvl 24, he had 29 stat, so his basic stats could be:

Attack 3,
Defence 6,
Sp 10,
Kn 10

+ Artifacts and map boosters (dragon eye ring, armor of forgotten hero...) We also know that Karli went down for 6 piece of dragon set, so mybe at that time he had 3 of it.

We also know that Strider took thanes to that battle. Surely no dragons, since they might die, and 13 cant be at the final battle. Probably no bears, since week diease and fever, they are few. Taking dwelling 6 and good hero-chaining in week 4 there might be 11-12 thanes. So attacking army I would guess: skirmishers (around 200), shieldguards and Thanes.

And runes.

If Karli had storm wind, air elementals could not reach dwarfen army in round 1.

I guess later - after havin res or reg - runic warmachines are better option than first aid, so maybe flaming tripple ballista was the fist to move from dwarfen side. It might take out 2-3 water cyclops before they move.

Technique theorethically is simple: Leave small amount of air elementals live, and then resurrect all the army.

Still look fantastic, tough very high chance that the spells of water cyclops and water elementals are resisted.

Sharing of the replays, tactics etc leads to evolution of players play level, community, game itself... But i can imagine how hard it's to share so precious knowledge

It's not secret, I just don't have. Maybe Val has? Anyway, I never save replays (and creeping at all) where I screw up... Kisp explained the main concept quite closely, though I had a bit different setup.

I suggest you try it yourselves as there was nothing extraordinary. In that game there were several much more dangerous battles...

Match # 2 is now over!

Jinxer = Winner of Match #2

Sorry there is no replay to show... Jorko conceeded and left before end of battle.

Was very lopsided... I was Necro he was Orcs..

I had Staff to negate all magic resistance and the full dwarven set.  So my Puppet landed every time. Not much else to say.  Was thankful that he kept his Spell power soo low tho.. was afraid the might over magic perk would render my FireBird and Puppet turn length useless.

Anyways.. I will post details of game 3, when Jorko responds.

I think orc need to get from secondary Dark shaters new skill--> imun to pupet. Now game is very unbalanced for him. Zero chance for orc vs pupet.

Why so? Sure it's not easy to pull off but while you control one unit the rest can kill the necro forces with morale/luck pretty fast. And cyclopes with expert shatter are immune so.. Then there are those artifacts that give blind/frenzy immunity. Of course you know these things better than me which is why I ask.

From what I've seen with some spellpower and shatter the puppet decreases the target's initiative quite a bit so it won't get many attacks in those 5 or so turns.

Elvin... you are sooo right!

When I entered this battle.. I was not so confident.. Then I get into battle and find out that He had Frenzy and Slow immunity artifacts.  And he had 7 Luck!!! And his initiative was so high... I can only imagine that he had both ring and staff...

Dwarven Set neutralized his balista and his Centaurs...  But the key to the Whole game was the Staff that negated magic resistance.. If puppet didnt land... Then Zero chance to win..

Cause puppet is ONLY way to beat Orcs... without it.. Orcs cannot be beat. They are far to silly

Actualy Elvin is not right

Orc is very unbalanced and now alot more weak on 3.1 All races have way for conter pupet but orc cant. Arts for imun blind/frenzy cant be find every game. Pupet totaly killing orc and nevermind how well you did your game noting to do vs it. Dont forget orc dont have spels. Missing resurect/regeneration/vamp/imunmagic is big hurt for him. He is stick to get every game WM for First Aid and this is BAD skill for long games.
In short orc realy need secondary skill from dark sahter--> imun pupet or geting secondary skill from light magick with spel--> Magic imunity. Its emergency important for balance orc in final battles vs Dark spels.
Dont tell me orc cant be beat if no dark because its not true. I have few wons vs Orc and no dark.

So it would probably be more balanced if luck gave dwarven instead of barbarian's luck? Lack of resurrection has often troubled me since some garrisons are impossible to take without casualties or tent/flaming which is annoying.

That is total BS... they have the Horde of Avenger Spell... that does damage similar to Implosion.  Jorkos avengar did something like 1400 damage!!! So dont say they have no spells

And with Barbarians luck... chances for Puppet to Land are pretty slim...

Strider told me I posted this in wrong thread... so I copied it here.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Jinxer vs. Jorko

Ceasar Finals Match #3

20% Magic resistance actually = 100% resistance on 3 stacks at same time.  Classic case of outrageous roll of the dice odds decides game.

No Replay needed... Wasnt a serious battle.

Here are some highlights.

460 Haggash Centaurs.. move first...

Cheiftans boost Centuars next...

460 Haggash Centuars get to go immediately Again...

18 Emerald Dragons can't even kill 1 Clop -- BS that Rage was nerfed.. if it was...it was not near enough.

Rain/Frenzy -- ALL resisted on 3 Stacks.

As I said.. just a silly battle....  Good luck in next round Jorko!

You will do well I am sure!

Hence you losing all the time.

The difference between being good at poker and lucky is that the luck will eventually run out (there's a soft balance everywhere) whereas the skill remains.

And especially in hold'em the luck factor is very diminished.

Well except that when the other guys good luck runs out.. then there is always the chance that YOUR run of BAD luck can begin.. which really means that the luck factor in the game didnt really change.

In poker and in Heroes 5... since neither are like chess... and since Luck is allowed to play a Major part...  SKILL can only take you so far. IN the end.. alot of the outcome is outta your hands.

Jinxer, you always cry being unlucky.

Let's remember a bit the old days, when Anal/Flamingo/Frank were at the top; We can argue that first two were cheating, although we never had valuable proof; I played them a lot and I was amazed how they were lucky. Always. Until I understood that when you know the game as they did, luck factor can be provoked thus it will eventually join and follow you.

If you think loosing too much to bad luck, then try changing strategies, be more aggressive, more creative. Have always lot of things to do and don't rely on the luck too much. Heroes is like a girl: you fear it, it goes with another. If when you lose you had bad luck, then when you win you had good luck. Where is the skill?

I know you will not agree. It is always painless to lose a game after so many hours. But bringing ALWAYS the lack of luck as being decisive is just not constructive.

Remember the old Sun Tzu saying:

The talented archer is the one who reach a target that others can not reach.
The genius archer is the one who reach a target the others can not see.

You have a very good ratio win/loss. But one day we have to accept that excepting a very FEW players, we can not always win.
