Yes, I don't appreciate when Tyraxor kills some hoplites from a distance like a cow... and then is crushed like a bug . So I restart until he doesn't see anymore clear . As for the numbers, I use the old method : a sheet of paper with all my numbers and formulas lol.

Just a short feedback of my current game.

Didn't have much time lately to procede much further, but currently it looks quite ok (as far as I can value it...).

It is start/middle of month 4.
Maximus is currently sailing in the seas of the Dracolichs (behind dark blue boarder). He only has hoplits, praetorians centurions and hell barons with him.
The way to the dark blue tent was quite challenging (no spellpoints ), but I managed it without losses. The 12 spellpoints came by coincidence, lol. I thought this small non cursed ground on the shore could be a place to summon a boat, and then realized I recieved 12 points
But this conflux town IGNE is not meant to be fought that time, is it? I don't see any chance to beat those guards (legions of Azures, Phoenixes etc...) with my current army.

My 2 other generals are doing resource fights and conservatory fights.
One has 3 surpremes, tons of griffins and wyvern monarchs, while the other has mainly Tower troops (Titans, queens, genies, archmagi) and a handfull of praetorians.

I noticed 3 interesting things in my last fights:

- When fighting locations like stores, stockpiles, conservatories etc..., those enemy creatures always tend to attack my tent instead of my army. I always lose at least 1 tent when fighting the clops for example...
- AI hero uses "hypnotize" vs my clones Not a bad tactic I have to say. I can't get rid of it without casting dispel, which would make the blind tactic quite worthless.
- The special ability "immun to all spells except benefical" has TWO sides. Even the ability "immun to fire magic" is quite bad for the hoplits.
Why?
Because when the top creature of a stack has full hitpoints, first aid tent doesn't resurrect the fallen ones. But the only area damage spell I have is Inferno. So I can't damage those hoplits to be able to use the tent properly again. Currently it isn't a big problem, because I have enough spellpoints and my praetorians can resurrect too. But on those passages like the way to the dark blue tent, where you do not have any spellpoints, this can be pretty annyoing.

Maximus killed already 1 stack of dracolichs and recieved the arms of legion. I just saved at the point where he stands (in a boat) in front of the next stack of dracolichs (south of Tirith). The block ability of these dracos makes the fight quite hard. But it's still working without losses. I am eager to see how the fight vs the legions of faeries will go...

You forgot to mention or you don't use dragonflies? I'm currently replaying the map and only using for the generals ragonflies, griffins, 3 supremes, wyvern monarchs pretorians and cyclops (later), few archmagi (lv10) if needed. No tower troops this time, i'll finish selling them anyway so I lose ressources on the titans . The genies are very strong for their cost too.

For the Dracos, I found the easiest for me was to cast mass slow and block with 3 stacks of pretorians the slowed ones and kill the others with shooters. That way the war machines are preserved and no other spell needed in the fight. As for the tent, yes the zones where no magic can be cast are a problem with troops that have low range of hp like hoplites and centurions...unless you face no retal creatures . In the castle fights (except tower) it's easy with the moat. I find complete immunity to magic to be extremely powerfull, the oponent hero most of the times is helpless and of course faeries too . Protect tent or ammno cart with antimagic if needed. The amno cart allows more movement on the map (the cursor dosent't show it immediately but you can easily notice it on roads for example) but sometimes you don't want to have an amno cart when using force field. You cannot get rid of ammno cart without another hero but you can put the force field on the right side of battlefield anyway .

You don't have frost of ring in any guild? Or other destructive spells from other elementary schools? Anyway, I don't know what powers you choose for all troops but you seem to be doing very well for the moment.

No, I do not use dragonflies, because I took those fortress towns short time ago. My throng Monarchs mostly came from the hives south of Gateway town.

The only area damage spell I have is inferno (and chainlighting ).
No frostring or meteorshower.

It would have been cool if the option "leave an army stack on the map" option would have been enabled. Would make many fights much easier

Yes, it would have been cool to be able to do it. Maybe some WoG expert can do a script allowing to select troops (and war machines) that enter a battle, that would be even better and doesn't allow the day 7 growth cheat of troops left on the map.

That option has always to be disabled. Some "smart and skilled" players found a way to cheat with it, they leave the stack day 7 and take it again next day, with growth enabled. In this way, they finished ToP having 1 bilion sorcs, and that opened my eyes for other maps. A nice option, but with a huge flaw.

My sea travel is over, coz I haven't found the black nor the brown tent as of yet. But with the visit of the purple tent, I am able to continue in the northern fortress region, where I can see a purple boarder guard.

I have to give "prayer" to my praetorians pretty soon, to be able to handle the Azure dragons. Ic couldn't fight any of these 2 stacks guarding a library in the sea. I guess against these, the best chance is to give away all other army and warmachines, get the harpy hag speciality to my praetorians and then do the forcefield trick.

The easier stack of azures can be beaten right now (with or without force field). The big stack can be beaten easily after visiting the towers and also force field is not strictly necessary. Well depends what powers have your units. Crucial observation is that the azures summon ice elementals....so you can resurrect at will in the end . It can be very different from one set of skills to another .

The problem is, they start first and kill all my 40 tents with 1 blow. I need to give away all my army and warmachines to a hero near Tirith first, and then I will fight then. I am sure I can beat them with my praetorians only. I got 235 of them, should be ok.

Maybe I am misleaded, but doesn't the amount of hitpoints resurrected by the tents depoends on number of the present tents?

Yes you lose all war machines but for +8 primary skills it's a good bargain . Clone pretorians is enough to resurrect all in the end so the tents are not really needed here. They will be there again next fight anyway. Only if you buy a tent will you lose it, the others depend on level of hero and you are right , the amount of hp resurrected depends from number of tents (still the gap from lower to higher values can be very high). In my game my hoplites had prayer and haste so they acted first, don't remember if my pretorians had prayer too at this stage.

Did you beat the Azures guarding the infinite gems? There you can train to fight azures (I had a bug when I attacked them with Maximus so I let them alone now, could be interesting to see if you have same problem or not).

Uh? So if I have 40 tents in that fight, all get destroyed, I will have AGAIN 40 tents in my next fight????
If so, many reloads have been unnecessary during that game

Yes, a few times now. They appear again after you walk over that trigger and become more each time.
First time there were only 2, then 3, 5 and now they are a pack. What was your bug?

Well it depends if you keep the same level or gain 1 or more levels . I've tried to max Maximus in a game and he jumped from lv78 to 88 or something like that (well know SoD bug) and later above lv100, he reached eventually negative XP and he has -1 tent . You can check how many tents he has and compare to the level it should be the same normally. If you add a "true" tent you will have of course one more tent and you lose it only if all tents are destroyed.

The guardian azures multiply +- by 2 each fight until they reach +- 2000 and then they disapear (I would have liked they reach 4000 ). They are still there but fight is won automatically like the werewolves quest. In my game the secondary skills of Maximus were broken after that (lost the sorcery skill, tactics skills, etc). So I decided to not interact with them now even though I need desperatly the gems. Also when you free Gunnar later he will try to visit the gems of course and his movement points make it that he ends in the same place as are the azures now. You cannot fight him there then (you will face a knight hero that will join you later instead). Maybe it's just a problem I have since I abuse the right click of the mouse with the sorcery skill and game memory is overloaded. I should change my pseudo maybe and call me righclicker .

What I wanted to know is this:

I get into a fight and lose all my tents, let's say 40.
I start a next fight on same turn. How many tents do I have then?

And what if I lose 21 of my tents, so I have 19 left before the second fight. Do I still have 19 when 2nd fight starts, or do I have 40 again?

You have 40 tents again each new fight, same day or not. The number of tents destroyed is irrelevant for the next fights. It's only taken into account for the current battle.

If you buy a tent you will have 41 tents in next fight (40 + 1) and if all tents are destroyed you will have 40 tents next fight. If only some tents are destroyed you will have 41 tents again next fight.

Lol...and I stopped the fight vs the Azures only coz they destroyed all my tents....

The tents will be the principal target of the AI, so you can't rely always on them. Clone is more powerful. But usually azure dragons and others will block your pretorians from all squares adjacent prohibiting the clone. You will have to find the right position to be able to clone each turn (wait and attack from an empty location at the end of turn). Then simply cast haste so the clones act first, and ressurect the dead units.

If you try to manually clone an unit while it is surrounded from all sides, there are chances that the game will crash or clone will not appear (at this stade reload, as your units are dead, even if you see them alive = bug).

I loaded some days back when I was near the smaller stack of Azures (379) and killed them quite easily now, after I knew I get my tents back after the fight

But the other stack is a bit too hard to fight right now (4000 )

I am in snow area of green now and saved right in front of 2nd town (Neela).

Will continue the next days....

Wizards were no real threat. Only really tough fight was vs Thane (Legion of naga queens), because it was outside of town.
All others were quite easy.

But now it seems I am stuck. I have currently no idea how to beat Tyraxor (Dessa) and his 10,500 cyclop kings

I tried 10 times now, but failed.

Casting forgetfullness first turn seems obvious to me, otherwise I am dead round 1

2 stacks of his resist this spell, ok...not too bad.

I have to kill his tents first round, or they cast mass cure end of round and forgetfullness is gone.

But anywere between round 4 and 7 he casts mass dispel, and this is my end. 1500 cyclop kings kill 1 whole stack (195) of my praetorians with 1 shot. And my boths stacks of hoplits (720 each) die the same round.
Most of the time after he casted mass dispel, the only unit I have left are my legionaires (250).

It seems there is no other way for me to go, because I do not have seen Gunnar as of yet to be able to visit the red tent.

Did I miss anything here?

Seems you missed a zone after beating Solmyr (there are also some rewards to receive in seer huts after beating some wizards). Before going to the barbarian lands you can take another multi-portal (click space to see where it leads : 2 directions). There is an extremely useful artifact there (you don't need view air to see artifacts or view earth to see hidden mines, view world is enough and free of magic when you have visited the zone ). I think it's just that , you need to visit this zone before (there is a library too and another very useful building). Good luck .
