Poll Question:
Dragons... how much we want from them???
The great question.
You want very few Dragons, like Homm 3 and 5 had (only the original game, without expansions)???
You want Dragon only for one Faction, like in Homm 1-2??
I personaly like the idea of putting more Mythology Dragons... for example, the Welsh Dragon, and the Hungarian Dragon! The hungarian "Dragon Snake" and the Hnugarian "Sárkány". Currently, in modern hungarian laugne, "sárkány" can refer to ANY kind of Dragons (Hnugarian meaning of Dragon), but in the Hungarian Mythology, "Sárkány" is a Dragon's Spirit, who posessed a human body, and transformed the human to a two-headed giant... Why not? And the Hungarian Thunder Dragon (remember those dragons in Harry Potter?)
Oh, and I miss the Dragon Golem from Homm 4! It was amazing!
And let's not forge about Wyrms, Wywerns, and Dragon Snakes (also from Hnugarian Mythology)...
And I alo loved the Dragons from Wake of The Gods and Armageddon' Blade...
But maybe most of you don't want too many dragons, so... let's discuss about here!!!

Interesting question, I like dragons and H5 satisfied me on that part. many dragons please, but only for as long as they are diverse and don't look too much like each other.
Oh, and Welsh dragon would make a horrible name for a creature...

I know, the Welsh Dragon, Slavic Dragon, and the Hungarian Dragon are awfull names 
I thinked, to put them to Homm 6, but rename them, at least...
And what do you think about Sárkány? 
Though I would prefer to make the Titans the strongest creatures in the game, I think there shoud be MANY kinds of Dragons...

Not MANY as in 60 or something, or whole factions based on Dragon creatures... The amount that was in H5 was enough (Though I would have really liked to see Water and Air dragons... It doesn't feel complete without them)
EDIT: Sarkany? Sounds nice enough

Well, I think that Gorynyches from H3 are a solid example of a Slavic dragon.
I like dragons, I really do, for some reason I see them as the heart of HoMM... But most of them should be neutral IMO.
Mythology dragons are a nice idea, and I like the H3 colour system.
But I don't know, a lot of people are against more dragons. And maybe they're right. Meh. I still like them. (dragons, not people )

I like different groups of Dragons to be represented:
Chromatic Dragons (Red, Black, Blue, Green, White)
Metallic Dragons (Gold, Silver, Bronze)
Chrystallic Dragons (Emerald Dragon, Sapphire Dragon, Ruby Dragon)
Elemental Dragons (Fire Dragon and Magma Dragons, possibly Water Dragons also)
Undead Dragons (Bone Dragon, Ghost Dragon)
Didn't mind the Dragon Golem, although it in fact has nothing to do with a Dragon at all. In the same vain, the Wyverns, Gorynoch etc. are Dragon-derived creatures, but aren't actually Dragons.

Wingless, or even Aquatic, Dragons might be an option also, although I think the Wingless Dragons are currently covered within the group Elemental Dragons in that the Fire Dragon is wingless.
On the other hand, I don't like the concept of "Chinese" or "Hungarian" or "Welsh" dragons to translate too strictly into the game. While I think different types of dragons can have different styles based on this, these are concepts that relate stricly to our world, and hence does not carry well into the world of mythology. Thus, you could make a wingless speciae of water dragons subordinate to Shalassa that could look in style like an Asian Dragon - no problem with that - but one should not make an "Asian Dragon" or "Chinese Dragon" as a creature in the game.

I agree, doesn't fit with the mythology of the game. I do like the blue water dragon idea however. Wouldn't have wings because they wouldn't need them...maybe an emerge and submerge attack..ooo that one has possibilities.. *scribbles some notes*.

While dragons certainly are great, I don't want the whole goddam universe to revolve around them.
I loved Heroes II and its Warlock-only Dragons, there was no ridiculous overabundance. I mean, you'd think giant flying lizards would be rarer than, say, Treants. Not in Heroes III / V though.

Dragon Types:
Uhm let me count...
If I would count all the Dragons of my ideal H6...
Black Dragon (no upgs) for the Drow/Dark-Elves/Warlocks
Fairy Dragon (with 2 upgrades) for the Elves
Christalline Dragon (with 2 upgs) for the Half-Elves
Possible Celestial Dragons (Chinese Design) for the Dragon Knights (possible Expansion pack)
Elemental Dragons as Neutrals.
That will be: 11 Dragons.
(I'm not counting Wyrms, Basilisks, Dragon Golems, Rift Worms, Diplodoci and other Draconic or Dragon-inspired Creatures here...)

Hmm.. Ok:
Green dragons, Shadow Dragons, Wind Dragons, Water Dragons, Fire Dragons... Red dragons aren't really necessary since they aren't mentioned as the descendants from any of the dragon gods. (And yes, I'd like H6 to follow H5's lore)
Oh, and possibly a neutral ÜBER-Dragon which is the servant of Asha.

I still love H3 and WoG Dragons. They were not only Faerie Dragon with bizarre design, Crystal Rust or Azure, but also nice Dracolich or three- headed Gorynch. Now HoF introduces walking, Godzilla-like Lava Dragons, very interesting as well.
We should get used to wide diversity of dragons in fantasy worlds and I don't find anything bad it at all.
...As llong as there is enough of other tier7 creatures as well

I like dragons and Ashan used them based on lore and religion, though you didn't really feel that. The way they used them was great and instead of putting 1 dragon in each factions, they should be like neutrals and more special. Make the dragons really mean something lore wise and gameplay wise.

I like how the Ashan mythology is based around Dragon gods etc.
Dragons in HoMM 6 should be:
Palace (Naga) would have Sea Wyrms/Leviathan (they are 100% proven to exist in Ashan btw, both Wyrms and Naga).
Stronghold (Dwarves) would have Jormungandr.
Sanctuary (Dragon Knights) would have Lunar Dragons.
Grove (Wood Elves) would have Green Dragons.
Dungeon (Faceless) would have Black Dragons.
Necropolis (Undead) would have Bone Dragons.
Finally Ramparts (Orcs) would have Wyverns which I belive are Sylaths dragons.
