I'm not a hardcore action hero like Doomforge, so I said it after about two months but that really shouldn't have any impact whatsoever on when you'll tell it.
Besides, it wasn't really a usual declaration of love. We were walking down the street and some street vendor was selling some retarded plastic crocodiles which grow and swell when you put them in water - and I happen to adore crocodiles and childish stuff - so I couldn't resist the urge to just go ahead and buy one  She looked at me in confusion and I subconsciously said what I tell every person I love whenever I'm doing something I feel they don't approve of.
"You do know I love you, don't you?"
I admit I realized what I said only when she replied that she loves me too, and I was like whoops there for a sec, but now - ten months later - I can't remember ever regretting for saying that. Quite the contrary, I'm pretty glad I did.
Either way, the crocodile never did grow too much, but I kept it as a sort of emotional catalyst till it started smelling funny and I had to throw it away. Now he's chilling in wherever it is that good plastic crocodiles go when they die, and I'm more in love than ever.
Happy ending, eh?

I made a personal vow to myself to never say "I love you" unless I actually meant it. I told Jasmine that as well when we first started dating and she remembered it because the first time we...you know...in my car she kept saying "I love you wait wait no I don't.
After we had been together for about a month we both kind of knew. I told her in a bit of a joking manor but it's something neither of us have forgotten. We had went to a movie rental place to pick up some videos to watch. We also had got some ingredients to make cookies.
We got in my car and were just sitting there in the parking lot for a minute. She looked at me and said, "I have something to tell you. Something that I've been thinking about for awhile now and I just have to tell you. You don't have to say anything or answer back but here it is. I love you."
I was kind of stunned for a minute but I responded back. "I love...cookies. Let's get going so we can make these. I can't wait! Oh and I love you too."
She punched me in the arm and just stared out the window until we got back to my place. When we got there I looked at her and said, "You know I meant that right? I never say it unless I mean it and I do love you"
That's my story although I have to say I like Bak's best so far.

So let me tell you how I feel
When I am with her, I feel like saying it, when I go to bed and write a goodbye messege I want to write it and just whenever I say goodbye I feel like saying it. When ever I glance into her eyes I feel like saying it, when ever she smiles I feel like saying it.
I feel like saying it. But I am affraid! Affraid of the response or if it is to soon! .. You know. And now that we have had sex I want to wait with saying it because I don't want her to get the impression that my love came out of the psysical act!..

Oh come on, grow some stones.
Lookit, here's three facts.
(1) If she's afraid of a three word phrase, she needs to grow up. You don't want to be with someone like that. End result: you win.
(2) If you tell her and she runs in horror or says she doesn't love you, it's better you find out now than later. End result: you win.
(3) If you tell her and she says she loves you back, you win.
Any way you slice it, you win. If you mean it, say it. What possibly bad could happen?

Seriously, I don't get it.
You aren't afraid of the consequences of having sex with someone, but you're afraid of the consequences of telling them you care about them? WTF? If that's not a backwards way of looking at relationships, I don't know what is.

When deadman phrases the word: "cyberhedonists", we all laugh, but when we get two comments on a relationship, we get a long sigh, an understanding look at eachother, followed by the words: "kids these days." and everyone will have the unspoken agreement. Whenever I read your replies I can't help but think of the guys reaction after the goal. It you through and through .
Don't argue the freakin basics of reality... just admit you're wrong. It's funny how if one says "You're wrong" or "I disagree" you explain how its impossible for him to say "you're wrong" because he is making his judgement based on a faulty view which defines error in a transymetical system with yorkshire pudding etc. it's just... no dude... sometimes on could just be wrong. Yeah, scientists are machos, that's very obvious. Wonder if Corribus carries a crowbar everywhere he goes, too. 
As for sex before saying I love you... I don't want to be a hypocrite, that's what I did all that time But it would be good to have sex with a woman I actually care for, not just desire... for a change. I'm looking forward to it.

Before you can truely love another, you must love yourself. (Get your mind out of the gutters please). However, I agree with Corribus 100% on this. Don't be afraid to express your emotions, in fact more then a few women I know eat that up. Now not to be bleak or anything but think about it like this. If something happened to either of you tomorrow and you never got the nerve to say it?
Corribus is right on his other points also. If she doesn't feel the same, now is the time to learn that.
Edit : If you have never had the chance to tell somebody you love them, I honestly feel sad for you. Even if you get your heart shattered into a million peices, it is a feeling like no other.
