you speak about creatures, I will simply speak about mapobjects

The editor or game accept than more of one objects can have same location...

ex: it's possible to put 10 chests in the same x,y ...so the first time when you will pick up the chest...9 others will be there yet..

Pick up all 10 chests before to see empty space on the location.

For some objects, Editor can block putting of a superposed object on other one, but you can force the location by editing map.xdb file.

What's the utility? nothing or just funny.

Two questions ;p
1. Is  there a way to make unactivated ability active? (Like Liquid Flame Breath)
2. Is this overpowered for tier 6? :

1 - I don't know but I really think no

2 - really not overpowered...maybe even a little bit weak.

hey all, only recently stumbled across all this, and think it's great! am having issues trying to use the creatures though. When i download a file I get a .pak file and a "complete" folder. Could someone tell me where these go please?

.pak goes in {your Heroes 5 game path}\data

.h5u goes in {your Heroes 5 game path}\UserMODs

stuff from Complete folder goes in {your Heroes 5 game path}\Complete if doesn't exist, create it.

and don't forget also to have these 3 files:

NCF__Core.pak
H5_Game.NCF.exe
H5_MapEditor.NCF.exe


.exe of course goes in {your Heroes 5 game path}\bin


if you want to see NCF in the editor, rename it .pak if it named .h5u and put it in data folder if not already done.

Take care if you run the game at first with all NCFs,

Some of them are bugged. (just a little few) but, begin softly.

thanks, do you know which ones are bugged? i'm trying to install the dendroids and arcane weps. When I load my NCF map editor it says it's not working though.

In my data folder I have -

NCF_core
NCF_MapEditor_core
NCF_Arcane_Blades
NCF_DefaultStats
NCF_Dendroids-EN_210109

In my bin folder I have -

H5_Game.NCF
H5_Mapeditor.NCF

Any ideas why it's no working?

ok...let's go on to debug you...

now, I need of your version of Heroes...

3.0 or 3.1

others of that = forget using NCF

if you have 3.0, install patch 3.1

so, the version you must have is TotE 3.1

I have TotE 3.1 !!!

then go on here:


1 - some of your files must be killed

In my data folder I have -

NCF__Core.pak
NCF_MapEditor_core  --- kill it
NCF_Arcane_Blades.pak
NCF_DefaultStats --- kill it
NCF_Dendroids-EN_210109.pak

In my bin folder I have -

H5_Game.NCF.exe
H5_Mapeditor.NCF.exe


2 - be sure you're using good version of NCF Framework (3.1):

don't take chance and download the 3 files from this link...
and put them in good folders for.

3 - then, since you decide to use NCF__Core.pak,
you cannot use anymore the real Editor...it will crash, so open the H5_MapEditor.NCF.exe and just it.

4 - with the game, you cannot run the real game if you wish to see NCF....you must run H5_Game.NCF.exe

5 - You cannot see NCF in Random maps  ( not yet)

6 - You can download a mod allowing to see NCF in random stacks

Thanks, had some success... map maker will now load. arcane weps appeared as available. dendroids didn't...also when trying to attack the arcane weps during the game it crashes. Am using the NCF map editor and game loader. wondering if the creature files are corrupt, could u give me links to these files from where you downloaded them from please

so for this problem, I want of you all these files of:

the map
and both NCF you're speaking (arcane weps,dendroids...)

compress all of it in one .zip or .rar file and give me a download link for.

Note: you talk about ArcaneBlade but you must know that this creature needs of others NCF, its upgrades....
a NCF in the game having upgrades which don't exist is a perfect crash risk

Dendroid, it's the same thing, they have upgrades as well.

so you can also try to begin with NCFs without upgrade,
or take care to pick up too the upgrades when there are that.

ok....

I have completly re-installed Heroes 3.1 (in a isolated zone for test)

and just put all of your files in folders.....and all 3 fights in the map never crash anyway...

you start the map in multiplayer? I try in multiplayer and single scenario and never I crash when I'm starting fights.

So, after all these tests, it's complety a mystery...I simply disunderstand what happens...

Put on the side, these NCFs and go on with other ones to know if your problem always returns.



For the editor....

you cannot see the dendroids because their mods have not the link for the editor...
but it exists update for them with the link for...

you would do up to date these ncf....

the only thing i can think of is that ive bungled where im supposed to put the complete folder, is this right?
