Asian faction?
I was thinking of an asian type faction called the Palace faction.
Hero type= Khan
special hero class ability:
Troops
tier 1: Spearman-> Jiman/ Guandao= anti-cavalry infantry
tier 2: Longbowman-> Fire Archer/ Cho-ko-nu= long range shooters
tier 3: Kitsune-> Nine-tailed Kitsune/ Devil Fox= fast melee casters
tier 4: Nomad-> Keshik/ Horse Archer= fast shooters
tier 5: Swordsman-> Samurai/ Blademaster= extreme offensive infantry
tier 6: Monk-> Shaolin Monk/ Seer= ranged casters
tier 7: Silver Dragon-> Imperial Dragon/ Thunder Dragon= fast offensive casters
any feedback would be great

Couple of things I would consider.
There's a pretty stark difference between Samurai and Ninjas, so you'd probably want to make that a seperate tier if their even in together at all.
The Blue/Silver dragon sounds cool.
Also, change the name to something besides Citadel. That's the name of an upgrade in all the towns  , maybe "Dojo" or even "Palace" or something.

Most of them are in other towns and Khan is a Mongolian.Everything else looks pretty good.

Asia was really mixed with mongolians from the Mongol conquests, so why can't Khan be a hero?

Hmm... nah, if Naga were in H6 (Which is a must, imo), there would be two asian inspired factions...
Still, a really good story might save this. Where do they hail from? Are we still in Ashan?
I've always played with the idea of having some other kind of humans than caucasian ones, a faction with some LOTR inspired Haradrim like desert people would be awesome

Names are too generic, Spearman might work, but the other two you might want to consider replacing eg. Halberdier to Jiman (they're basically the same meaning) and maybe replace the Pikeman with some sort of polegun unit (ie, a guy with a small shrapnel gun on the end of the pole), or Guandao (basically a sword on the end of a pole, can swing widely to hit multiple targets

Swordsman is more generic than I'd like, but I'll admit it's going to be difficult finding something to replace it. Samurai and Ninja are good upgrades, the former gravitates towards defence, the latter towards offence.

Gah, generic names where they most certainly be avoided, we have more descriptions available than merely prismatic and mineral names, try Imperial Dragon -> Azure dragon / Thunder Dragon (or Serpent Dragon).
Overall a solid faction, though it suffered from overly generic names and a slight lack of imagination. Keep up the good work though.

Well, you could use them for Free Cities of the East, who are Humanoids
but keep it a bit different from haven. Instad of a monk as a Casters, use a Geisha for example, Ninja and Samurai MUST be sparate levels, more Myth Creatures are a must too. You can Add a Lóng (Chinses Dragon), a Ryu (Japanese Dragon) or a Qilin (Chinese Dragon-Horse-Squirrle hybrid). Kappas (Water Devils) Work fine as well. Maybe an introduction to Fireworks?

Wow, a mixed Asian faction. You have got Japanese tier 5 and 6, Mongolian hero and Chinese tier 2... Where are the Koreans ?
About tier 5, it is wierd that a Swordsman can be upgraded into a Ninja: Samurai makes sense, but Ninja... I think it is better to replace Ninja with Blademaster (or called Daishi in Chinese).
And the dragons, the names are wierd, the upgrades can be called Dragon Kings of the Seas (or Shen, which is a dragon people believed to create mirage in the desert).

thanks, actually i was thinking of replacing haven with the palace
and then doing loads of mod stuff
problem is, i can't mod at all, and my computer doesn't run homm5

I would love to see an oriental faction in HOMM.
Some of you may remember that creating a far-east faction was the most successful round of the Weekly Faction Contest. The winning faction (16th post) was made by Evil_Lord, but there are so many good ideas there... You can try to build the perfect Asian faction, but it has already been done by a several people. Check out the entries there.

Okey I will answer why the Naga cant be one single creature, because...
1). Nagas was already planned as a town, but was scrapped because it took to long time and became to many towns.
Nagas were then decided to be developed more and used in the next game in the series (H6).
2). The Naga are a huge demand from the fans, 90% of everybody wants them.
3). Nagas are one of the blessed "dragon races" which were empowered. Almost all of these have their own towns (except the Angels, human are Sylath).
They worship Shalassa.
But sure, its cool idea but not likely at all to be in-game because Nagas will be the far east town (with Samurai, Shinto, Chiense Water Dragons etc).
But sure, you could easly make them be the Free City faction - its an idea I really like
