Fine! I'll start giving my opinion. (apologies to those of you who already know about this) Honestly, I can say there's one lesson everyone needs to know. Don't go to the internet for comfort 
Now, I made light of this unfortunate event. I do not want to talk about the boy himself who did this (sadly enough). But the people who gleefully cheered on abut this. we are quite desensitised aren't we? I mean, for example, poor ole Gabi. (bad example, but he'll do) Let's say he hypothetically had nowhere to go to and he looked for support on the internet.
Yes, this may sound unbelievable. Would it be equally unbelievable for the fellows from the other forum? and even if, would it still be okay to shout gleefully: "just get over it, already lol, pwned!"? I mean, it's not /b/ or anything
Anyways, are we completely desensitised by emo-culture that we stopped caring at all? Of course, it's still the internet and all, so we have a certain percentage of being anonymous and distance, but it still doesn't completely justify this.
Anyways, any thoughts on this?

Well if someone would post something like that here I'd probably post something akward and sarcastic about it. Or ignore it completely
I wouldn't say do it in a serious manner since it'd serve no purpose.
Also I'd be jailed if the guy was finish.
But I for one wouldn't care a **** about some random guy going to do a suicide.

Same argumentation: if I die, I'll never feel pain and have to deal with life.

I don't think Abraham what's-his-name Biggs endured a lot of pain on his drug overdose. Pain can easily be avoided, while doing it.

Yeah, if life gets totally stinking, you can always say byebye to everything and get the hell out of your place. Idk, join the army or something. Get a total life-change. Works better than suicide, I guess. Never had to try it though, but if I were really down about my life, that's what I would do.

Who knows?
Now, the boy who did this was sick, some disorder, so it doesn't really count as a free and voluntary decision.
Fact is, though, that we are all going to die sooner or later anyway, so suicide is shortening the time of living, but not doing something which wouldn't happen otherwise.
I think that a terminal illness making it necessary to take the strongest available pain killers while still feeling pain makes suicide a pretty valid option.

But I don't think there's any reasonable argument for killing yourself if you don't believe in afterlife.

Not saying it is valid, but some people do not want to deal with life anymore. They think their life is over, perhaps or they'll never see someone again who they love or something utterly contrived like that.

What do they think will happen to them when they die? A miraculous time of happiness?

Even if you don't believe in afterlife, I don't get it what's so much of a 'torture' for you to not exist. Like TA said in I gave up on believing in God:Quote:

In theory your death doesn't mean anything to you after your dead.
So dieing is not anything to be afraid off.
But people think they are better off it they do suicide. That's just stupid. They can't be better off since they are not.
EDIT: What torture btw? I never said anything about torture.

I agree with JJ.
I am in no position to say to anyone what they should do with their lives. I don't even pretend to understand what it could be like to live in continuous agony, misery and suffering.

Agony is the only thing that you can't stop from those. Misery and suffering is all about yourself.
