Quote: The plot was terribly predictable. Like, COMPLETELY predictable.
I watched trailers and didn't quite know how the all the pieces will come together. It also completely suprised me (didn't really happen in any Marvel movie before) with major plot twist in a middle of nowhere. I think they played it very nicely to overturn the expectations.
The action scenes were mixed, but not dissapointing. Missed some drama, though, the girl is just overpowered and mostly struggles with herself.
What I didn't like in the movie was the cat and references to other Marvel movies, which didn't quite make sense. Still don't quite understand what the hell happened to Fury's eye. Also Ronan wasn't quite similiar to his GoTG version, which makes the idea of placing him in this movie questionable to begin with.

The Flerken scratched the eye in the end. That is was it. A bit lame, but kinda funny tbh. No epic story of how he lost it in battle hehe He trusted the "cat" and lost an eye.
And Ronan is supposed to be a bit different after 25 or so years. I don't think that is too problematic. He was a bit of a space nazi before and he is arguable doing the same thing (without Kree authorities backing him anymore, hence he went rogue) in GotG.

@Warmonger:
I guess the eye got infected really bad and that was that.
I agree that the plot twist with the Skrulls was kind of cool. Now I wonder if the skrulls will play any part in Endbattle.

The thing with the eye was lame. Cat probably destroyed his conjunctiva. But I like how the movie tied many story elements together.
Th Skrull part is interesting, especially when you consider the whole "Invisible War" story arc. They can still come back to it
And Endconflict will be epic!
PS: After watching Antman 2 I think we might have a hint regarding how to counter Thanos "decimation".

I think the half of the universe that got dusted is contained in the soul stone and the team is somehow going to be able to access the soul stone by entering the quantum realm and then destroying/disabling it from the inside.

We were introduced to the soul world in Infinity War, so IMO I think we'll get to explore it more in Endquest.

Well, for a "Western movie" the only one that got away with it was LotR: RotK. We're talking cinematic, not extended versions ofc.

The recent captain Marvel controversy reminded me of this video. It is not meant to prove anything, there are no statistics or concrete facts but like the author, I do not understand why recent filmmakers feel like shouting out how awesome their introduced strong women characters are or if they even understand what a strong character is. Certainly there have always been less strong women than men in movies but it's not like strong women is a new trend nor do I recall older controversies about them. Star wars in particular is not in pioneer ground, it's not even catching up.
Somewhat related, a video regarding defenders of the last jedi. That is in regards to toxicity, filmmakers and general stupidity.

That's easy!
Because it S.E.L.L.S. (the guy from the videos you linked even mentions this, for instance telling us how Hollywood works).
Unfortunately the movies will earn them a lot of money either way, so there is no way they will ultimately be cut down to size, I mean all those "cus they are toxic fans" and "drinking fanboy tears" kind of people...
Btw, why we almost entirely use only the "fanboy" word, what happened to "fangirl"?

Lol, I love have people have the memory of a goldfish when it comes to cinema, a lot of classics (which were also box office hits) were 180 minutes or even longer, The Godfather(s), Gone with the Wind, Lawrence of Arabia, The Green Mile, Doctor Zhivago... Nowadays, it is not seen so often because everything is much more formulaic and thanks to internet, most people’s attention span is significantly shorter. This is the actual problem, that’s why you have more movies that suck, not because of PC, Elvin’s video gives a very good example of that, I had no problem with Rey being a woman, the actress was not incompetent either, but where as we watched Luke SLOWLY turning into a jedi with patient references to Far-Eastern spiritualism, Rey “magically” turned into one in an instant. Nowadays, if you wanna see some character development, you have to dig quality TV series, cinema has turned very dull in this regard.

So, watched The Highwaymen on Netflix, it was quite a good movie. This is once again, the story of Bonnie and Clyde but from the opposite perspective, the perspective of the two Texas Rangers who tracked them down and killed them in the famous road ambush. This version is naturally much more realistic than the classic Warren Beatty film where the couple is romanticized to a great degree. It also has a more socologial perspective on why they were idolized the way they were during the bank robberies. People hated banks during the Great Depression and them robbing the banks helped a lot, the poverty of the Era is the background of the film and it is a spot on choice.

Lol, you basically self-explained what I had in mind. We're talking modern movies that are usually criticized for their length.
In times past going to cinema was more of a celebration (still is for many people, but less so). Nowadays it's so easy to watch a movie (and read/watch all about it beforehand), especially from your couch so people tend to be really picky and getting bored easily, not to mention preferring to not to go to cinema whatsoever (ex. "I have a shiny new 6.1 surround system, why should I go listen to people eating popcorn in the dark?"). 3h is more then many people, with their short attention span, can manage. I remember reading some articles that it's really a problem for many cinemagoers if the movie is longer then 2,5h. That's why many movies are trimmed down (look Warcraft the Movie for instance, and how Duncan Jones was unhappy with the way the movie turned out after the cuts). It's not only justified because of the economic (for instance Director cut editions on blu-ray), but also from the audience standpoint.

Yeah me too. In Disney's place I wouldn't want him near starwars, it sold but alienated plenty of fans. Unless they really are certain that controversy brings money.

Is this an April fools joke? Brie Larson name would kinda give this even more "credit". Well, the date does not comply (31st), but maybe it was a pre-day joke afterall...
If truth then sigh. Another franchise destroyed entirely...
EDIT: Oh yeah, it was a joke. I would say sth about hating April Fools, but I don't even care about Star Wars...
