My favorite personality of the four Avenger's is The Hulk, which is a shame because they're not making any friggin' Hulk movies anymore. Dr. Jekyll & Mr Hyde is like my favorite story in antiquated British literature. The primal conflict between the intellectual man and the animal within. Same reason I love the Beast in X-Men.

All of the Avengers are well-made comic book characters though. Captain America is about coming from humble roots and into a state of great power, and how to maintain the ideals that were held prior to that. Thor is the exact opposite of Rogers: he's about being daddy's little prince who was born with everything handed to him in his lap, and yet trying to use that power properly. Ironman is about containing the temptation to sacrifice everything in order to maintain security (note the storyline that results in war between Ironman and Captain American). The characters are all the creative products of mid-20th century America, so it's no surprise that all of them are based around the question of "how do I manage power?" It's a commonly reoccurring theme, same as how you'll notice a very high degree of post-Apocalyptic storylines in Japanese anime. Plus tentacles. Beats me on that one.

Of course, they all suck compared to Ant-Man.

I saw Age of Ultron last night.  It was good but the magic is waning.  The action sequences were top-notch.  At times, with so many characters, the movie felt bloated.  Lastly, as to my biggest disappointment, Ultron wasn't nearly as menacing as the trailers led me to believe.  He was a good villain but I expected a lot more.

Also thought that Ultron was a bit soft on the world. I was expecting a omni-mess all around.

Anyway, it was a fun moment at the movies. The last time I went there was to see Interestellar and the Hobbit.

I'm curious about Chappie.

The next time I might watch Mad Max 4, for the sake of honor. Not hyped for the next Terminator whatsoever. And somehow fond of seeing dinosaurs eating people, again, in June.

Same here. The movie was entertaining, no doubt, but it could have been better. Ultron was bland, he spent most of the movie making jokes and being the punching bag of the avengers instead of a deadly villain.

Add to that the movie felt like a big trailer for Avengers 3...The credits scene was dissapointing too.

You can't have a good action movie when using mediocre actors. That was the case too with Avatar, so much of special effects and gorgeous landscapes, but without acting it looks like a showcase.

On the other side, Terminator movies are supported by Arnold.  You can criticize him on many aspects, but must agree he has tons of charisma.

The last Avengers is mediocre, exactly like the people playing in. No special effects will ever change that.

What do you guys think of the third hobbit? I thought it was terrible for how hyped I was. Crappy action scenes and I hated it when they all took off their helmets at the end when they finally join the freakin fight.... The whole thorin going crazy over the gold just dragged that whole movie down.

Saw ex machine, wasn't as good as the trailer made it seem

I still think it's worth watching though. Enjoy the show, just don't set up your expectations high on Ultron...

It's not good, that much is certain. The whole movie around something that wasn't described in the book, or almost all of it. The strongest thing in the movie seemed to be the dragon sickness taking control of Thorin. The thing was as much annoying as it was convincing.

Alfrid ... oh, boy. There's this AWFUL night show in my country with very stupid and silly characters, that kind of humor that I cannot really fathom why it still exist. Alfrid looked exactly like one who could be in that show, and for that, I hated seeing him, his eyebrows, his stupid face.

Dain could have been less electronic-looking as well.

Best scene was the mount of the elf king impaling all those orcs, just to be killed seconds later. And someday, eagles shall be the first ones to arrive.

Also, action scenes, when shown at close range, weren't that good. All in all, I didn't really got immersed in the movie, only got emotional when Bilbo was leaving the dwarves and when listening to the Ending Song.

But I was already braced that the movie wasn't going to be very good. I was there for the sake of honor.

I really enjoyed the first one and I thought it was a good representation of what was covered in the book for the most part.

But my least favorite part of the third is when Thorin and Dwalin get to the top of some mountain and Dawlins like "goblin mercenaries, about a hundred of them (how the heck could he even know that?), you guys go ahead, we'll take them!" Finally I thought it was time they were going to actually see some combat. Thorin swings his sword once, Dwalin jabs with his axe and they change scenes....

I would not bother, I tried watching it but I was not strong enough, like even if it is crap I can still give it a chance right? No. The third part was so godawful that it made me physically sick, so many better movies that are far more worth my time.

Well I watched it.

On the positive side, it wasn't so dreadfully exhausting as the first two. On the other hand, it didn't really seem to have much of a plot or point. The dwarves get the gold, a bunch of people want it, a battle ensues, the end. Lot of pretty images - although the CGI doesn't always come off as convincing - a boat load of tame and, frankly, repetitive, action sequences, and some jarring "portents of doom" scenes that are meant to hint at greater things to come but end up making very little sense within the narrative of the Hobbit itself. It's an uneven film that's nevertheless more watchable than the first two.

As to the trilogy as a whole, well - it was far too long for one thing. It really should have been two films at most. I also continue to maintain that they completely missed the point. The Hobbit is not and never will be The Lord of the Rings, and that's exactly what Peter Jackson tried to turn it into. From a structural standpoint, the two fictional works are very similar. They differ predominantly in tone and, if you will, maturity of theme. By making the Hobbit film trilogy equal to the Lord of the Rings in tone, it all just came off feeling exactly like a very inferior, tiresome, pointless version of Lord of the Rings.

To sum up, while I was watching this final film, and the two before it, I couldn't help but keep thinking, "Did they read the same book that I did?"
