Well shoot me dead and call me a goner! I sure liked The Revenant I did! (In my country it premiered just recently).

I wanted a brutal and realistic take on the American Frontier and that's exactly what I got. Plot? Who needs a plot in a survival, Man vs Nature (and humans) movie? This movie needed a simple plot and it did have a simple plot. It was more about the atmosphere, the scenery, the wilderness. I've watched the movie with my friends and they had the same impressions. Some of them only complained about the score, but imo it really fits in here nicely cause it was haunting.

And Leo? Hell, if they don't give him an Oscar for this then I don't know what else he would need to do... It's hard to judge his "acting" in this kind of movie, but he definately had his share of "hardships" in this role. "Beryl Grylls" style. And that's what Hollywood likes no? Hardships...

My only real complaint is about the movies ending. Not exactly satisfying imo...

Same. Ultron was kind of a disappointment, but Ant-Man was fun. And it had Michael Douglas and Tauriel too.

Did he just say " hi I'm Scott! " ?

Standford Prison Experiment/Experimenter:

Both movies are about real psychology experiments, the first one's about the Standford experiment in the 70's where they take a bunch of young guys and separate them into two as prisoners and guards. As one can expect, the ones acting out as guards are the ones that go through the more drastic change. Things get out of hand and they end the experiment much earlier than planned.

Experimenter is the biopic of the social scientist Milgram but again, most of the focus is on his famous experiments about authority and obedience. This one is quite experimental regarding the cinematic language also.

After seeing these two movies, I think it's safe to say that, in general, psych experiments make awesome book material but they are not so ideal for movie material. Both films are decent but not great. The first one feels more like a missed opportunity, with a little more depth, it could have been quite a drama/thriller.

If someone hasn't seen it yet, then I strongly reccomend watching Spotlight. A great cast and an engaging story will ensure that you stay invested throughout the whole film.

Yes, Spotlight was a real good movie, just saw it two days ago or something. I never truly realized the child molesting priests (a stereotype now) was a direct psychological result of the celibacy thing. With so many cases, it's no doubt there is a causality between the deviation and the suppressed sexuality.

Also watched Spotlight. A good movie, and gives you hope there are actually some real reporters still out there. As for the systematic abuse happening in Catholic Church, when I first thought about it sometime before highschool, the first thing that came to my mind was that involuntary celibacy  must **** them up. Because that is not natural for humans.

That's Rachel Weisz's husband's last Bond movie. Guess they need some fresh meat for the grinder. He had Skyfall and that's the most successful Bond movie to date AFAIK.

If only they hadn't butchered the whole plot with the second trailer, then I'd get hyped about this one. That Batman intro was bollocks

Nooo, don't spoil it for me!

I will do that on sunday

My prediction are, that it's deasent +7 movie, enjoyable whit not too many childish scenes. Now that I said it, it's probably bad as Spawn and childish as Spider Man.

The Ridiculous 6 was unexpectedly very funny. I usually dislike Adam Sandler but this is one of the movies where he got it right.

It's similar. Zohan is the other exception that I really enjoyed. This one also has great cameo appearances.

Bloody fantastic

Nah, it was really "mediocre" movie but weird humour made it very enjoyable experience. In a way it was like reading fred's post whit lot of randomness and nut humour.

Oh yea, I remember reading about the first one. Not surprising, really.

Yeah, there's minimal benefit to be gained by putting that from a book onto a movie format. Book format is better for that.
