I just watched Hellraiser for the first time the other day.  Despite being 26-years-old, I found the story almost refreshing (if not horribly paced) compared to some modern horror films.  It certainly did not try to be anything other than a horror film and I respect that.

I never read Clive Baker's The Hellbound Heart, so I did not really know what to expect of the antagonists.  I found their quiet, almost sophisticated, menace to be an interesting change of pace from other 80's horror film monsters.  Strangely, I found myself wanting to learn more about them after the movie was over.

In the end, the 80s special effects really do not hold up much and due to decades of desensitization, there was nothing remotely horrifying about the film (except the god-awful late-80s fashion).  That said, if you are looking for some schlocky horror, Hellraiser is worth a watch.

The first Exorcist (1973) is still real horror and most disturbing...Max von Sydow as the priest, brilliant actor.

Oh good.  I was really hoping we'd get an X-Men movie that focused on Wolverine.  He is such an under-exposed character in the franchise.

Which such an AMAZING cast I have just incredibly high hopes. That series as a comic is just great, and iirc it wasn't about Wolverine, was it? Not saying that they can't change it though and f it up...

That trailer for Hobbit 2 looks good!

I remember from the book, that part in the forest with all the giant spiders (like a 100 ungoliants chasing bilbo!)

With their utterly huge budget it better be good!

The World's End is Shaun of The Dead meets Invasion of The Body Snatchers, the problem is, it tries too hard to be that. Still, it's funny enough most of the time. The two  main characters are again immature guy who doesnt act his age and responsible friend from early years who is fed up but cant terminate friendship because of sentimental reasons. It is also the same actors playing them except this time they swap roles. The whole Green Mile thing (drinking in 11 pubs in a row in one night) also has its moments of fun.

I haven't watched a single trailer for it for that very reason, that's how hyped I am.

Angel Heart (1987)

One of my favourite movies, where Robert de Niro plays the devil (prefer him to Al Pacino in Devil's Advocate).
Here, de Niro offers Mickey Rourke an egg, which symbolises the soul, Mickey doesn't accept the egg, so de Niro bites hard into it and stares at Mickey...great scene!

2010 was okay.
I much prefered it's predecessor "2001: A Space Odyssey" (1968). It's a slow movie, but brilliant sci-fi. Stanley Kubrick take a bow.

A bit late, I know, but still, I watch this one almost every year. Not because it has those specific actors in it, but because I think it makes a Hollywood point.
To put it as simply as I can, I love this one
