and even that is not enough.
I only think for example at puzzle concept for obelisks. big job.
and no doubt there is other things not seen yet.

We Germans try to find a way to decompile the .exe, but the guy who would do this is actually in New Zealand, I think in summer he's back ^^

Hi all
Is there any progress in hacking the exe to add the new town ? By pure chance I saw the models I've made for the Ziggurat, and it remembered me we should still work on this project :\

Is there anybody still interessed in it ?
I also remember you that now we can "easily" (easier than before I mean) add new meshes (and less easy, new animations) into Heroes V thanks to Pesmontis. So isn't it the right moment to bring this project alive again ??
(Else we could still "erase" an old town and replace it by this entirely new one, so no more problems with hacking the exe and this MOD would still be of all new generation because nobody ever created an entire town beggining from zero)

depends what you call an entire town. A couple of towns have already been made and where almost finished when their authors decided to suddenly vanish

With enterly, I meant entirely but this fact : it will replaces another already existing (inferno, or dungeon, or sylve, or...). New models, new textures, new creatures (NCF I mean, not entirely new models and animations, too difficult at this stage).

And I remember you that creatures aren't the most important here. Buildings and town interior/exterior models are as much important. I don't wanna create NCF like everyone does : I want to create an entire faction, with its town, buildings, creatures, sounds, musics, story.

I see. personnally, I mostly consider the gameplay. appearance is secondary I think.

Funny. Yes I too can make a super-gameplay, it is so important ! But without the interface, which players will this MOD touch ? Fauch only ? Not what I had in head. Everything is done step by step, and the gameplay is the LAST thing to think of ! Read the Art Book of the Heroes V Complete Edition, you'll see that I'm right. They first made the visual of each town before arguing on their specific gameplay !

You know what ? Never mind. You can try to break my project if you want to, but I'll stop considerating your void messages.

for my share, I don't care of visual especially if the the town replaces an already existing.

I prefer to concentrate on the gameplay.

about me, the visual becomes important if the town is entirely new
(9th town)

a lot of NCF are ready to make factions, really good factions!

I've 4 new factions at my home now.

ALSO: I think it's possible to make artwork in same time to ensure a good gameplay.
I don't see why the gameplay must depend of artwork.

It's not a valid argument. it's a point of view like another. where do you prove that it's the best (or even the only valid) way to do?

if you think only of graphics first, and make a preliminary choice of creatures, based only on how good they look, you may end up with something unbalanced, because you have to give abilities which fit each creature.
actually, despite it's not the only way to do it, it is probably efficient to have a global view of the project before rushing into doing anything.

I have a conflux faction (with 4 elementals+upgrades+phénis+others NCF)

2 - a faction based on Morock's creatures.

3 - a "pirate" faction based on your pirates and others NCF (I created a lot of new NCFs for upgrades..ex:bears+bears'supgrades)

4 - a alliance knight faction based on all NCF look alike knights...

each of these 4 factions can take one of 8 towns you want....RTMG helps for that because it uses "swapping" methods

Ex: I can swap haven to dungeon, inferno to stronghold etc etc etc etc etc.....

Hello everyone!

I wonder how this project is progressing?
Somebody found a way to insert an all new faction yet?

While I must admit, that I haven't read the whole 12 pages,
I like the idea of bringing the lizards back.

I directly had that vision in my mind of some sort of Maya/Inka/Azteks and a large Step Pyramid.

I would call the Faction: "Ziggurat"

I ask the same question as DracoDruid,(I did read all 12 pages), and it would be sad if you wouldn't go on with the work.

btw, I just want to say that the most important thing for me is the visual experience of a town, and I really loved what I've seen so far from your town, TSoD.

I've seen the screenshots of SimonaK, and some of the creatures are really interesting designed (for example the Nunkuga by Psatkha, it gives this creature a total new appearance), but most of them look like what they really are: Boring reskins, all the time with the same model. Personally, I think that TSoD and Pesmontis are making a step in the right direction. We need new Models !
