EDIT:

Problem with 3 guild level method and adventure spells!

adventure spells comes about level guild, ex: Town Portal = guild level 5

and only HERO_CLASS_BARBARIAN can enter to talisman building

suggestion to resolve it:

Lizard faction heroes start already with some adventure spells.

gnolls females,male lizards? why not male and female varitions of both? 4 lizards,2 male 2 female,and 4 gnolls,2 male 2 female?
also,names,Witch or beastmaster.
a marksman i dont know..something not right with lizard holding a crossbow...
maybe just give this lizard more armor and so.

ok but that is not corresponding with the normal factions of the game.
moreover, the game accepts better the « one town/one class » functionality.

you're talking about lizard and gnoll in same time but apart the heroes's pictures
that make the difference between both, where will the difference be?

looks like you already chose an idea.
here is an idea I had, but couldn't be bothered to finish it :

the base castle would be academy or dungeon (a castle specialized in magic)

Level 1 :
familiar model, weak but numerous lv 1 creatures
Familiar
The familiar is the most trusty friend of the wizard. They help them in casting spells. Each wizard receives a familiar at his birth and will keep it until his death.
Mana feed (5 mana).
Mystic
The mystics are a race of familiars able to store more mana than the familiars and to drain it from their enemis.
Mana siphon. Mana feed (10 mana).
Mana crafter
The Mana  are another race of familiars who have the unique ability to concentrate their magical energy to give life to inanimated creatures. Wizards use them to create bombs and arcane blades for example.
Mana feed (5 mana). repair.

level 2 :
war dancer's swords/rakshasa's swords/golem's swords
offensive creatures with poor defense to compensate for the defensive abilities. moderately fast.
Arcane blades
Those flying blades have been created to protect the sanctuary. They don't need to receive orders, since engraved magical runes tell them what they have to do.
Elemental or Mechanical. Great shield. Magic resistance 50%.
Spinning swords offensive upgrade
Those blades are more sharp, and the magical runes tell them to be more offensive. A very powerful magic is needed to create them.
Elemental or Mechanical. Blade barrier.
Enchanted sabres defensive upgrade
Those blades have been greatly enchanted against magic. The enchantment is so strong that nearby creatures get protected too.
Elemental or Mechanical. Great shield. Magic resistance 50%. Invisibility. Aura of magic resistance. Eldritch aura.
(maybe reduce the magic resistance to +25% if ever the aura already gives a +30)


level 3 :
hunter model. rather offensive, but more defensive and faster than hunters
Arcane archer
Besides the wizard, the archer are the only humans serving in the army, and the only ones who received a military formation. Swordmen and squires weren't need since the arcanes blades fulfil their roles, but the wizard still haven't found the good rune combination to make arcane bows act as they should.
Shooter.
Dream archer
Those archers use enchanted arrows. Despite the pain caused, their shots are very likely to put their opponents to sleep.
Shooter. Sleeping strike.
Sharpshooter offensive upgrade
Sharpshooters use enchanted bows instead. They can fire arrows with a dreadful accuracy, and the further the enemy is, the greatest the damage will be.
Shooter. Line attack. No distance penalty.

level 4 :
like the bombo from FF. very offensive, very poor defense. quite fast, but low movement (because of leap)
Bomb
Another magical weapon created by the wizard to protect the sanctuary. The Bombs are to charge their opponents at great speed, but unfortunately, are easily destroyed.
Mechanical. Leap.
Pyro-bomb offensive upgrade
Enhanced with a fire enchantment, the Pyro-bombs are still very weak, but their merciless charge are very frightening to the wizards enemies.
Mechanical. Leap. Immune to fire. Fire shield.
Meta-bomb defensive upgrade
The Meta-bomb is the cream of the bombs. It has been created by the wizards in prevision to the war, to be able to take down enemies town. Their powerful charges are able to destroy castle walls.
Mechanical. Leap. Magic res 25%. Crushing blow.

Crushing blow : strikes all the adjacent enemies, but only deals damage to the main target. secondary targets may only get stunned.

level 5 :
the arcane crystal I made for NCF. Tough and deal massive damage, either by attacking or casting spells, to compensate for their numerous handicaps.
Arcane crystal
Some crystal have a strange property which make them absorb magic. Wizards accidently discovered that by casting spells in crystal mines, and now, some of them spend days casting spells in those mines to find these crystals. Arcane crystals are unable to act on their own, but the right energetic stimulation will make them unleash their magic.
Elemental. Immune to magic. Spellcaster (Lightning bolt). Inanimated (0 movement points). Deal no damage.
Fire crystal
Those crystals have been enhanced by casting a lots of fire spell in them.
Elemental. Enchanted obsidian. Spellcaster (Fire Chain). Inanimated. Invisibility. Aura of fire vulnerability. Deal no damage
Air crystal
Well, obviously, air and fire are the 2 favorite elements of the wizards.
Elemental. Immune to magic. Immobile(0 movements points, 1 initiative). Stormstrike. Lizard bite. Aura of Lightning vulnerability.

level 6 :
griffin model, and the garuda I made. very tough level 6 (growth of 1 per week). fast.
Rock
Some people in the sanctuary are in charge of capturing baby eagle to educate and take care of them. Those eagles undergo a special diet, consisting of potions making them grow unnaturaly big, in order for them to carry hard task or serve in the army when they become strong enough.
Flyer. Bravery.
Garuda better attack and defense
The garuda is a genetic evolution over the eagles. They are extremly fierce, so they can only be tamed while they are still very young. For some reasons, they totally hate dragons, some people say they are the reason why no dragons have ever been seen near the sanctuary.
Flyer. Bravery. Immune to fire. Giant slayer.
Nebula better speed
Unlike the garuda, the nebula are very docile, and are easy to educate. The reason may be that they fly high above the clouds, and they have no natural predators up there. In another hand, it makes them very hard to find and catch.
Flyer. Bravery. Immune to air. Dive. Presence of the storm.

level 7 :
the wizard king I made. Support unit. is actually less suited for hand to hand fights than rocks. average stats everywhere.
Wizard king
Mind immune. Bravery. Spellcaster (Teleport no mastery).
Lore keeper
Mind immune. Bravery. Spellcaster (Teleport expert, Deflect arrows advanced, Summon lightning).
no name
Mind immune. Bravery. Spellcaster (Teleport no mastery, Regeneration). Incinerate.

you may notice if you look closely than some of them work better in combination. you can put enchanted sabres close to sharpshooter. put enemies to sleep with the dream archer and then perform a dive attack with the nebula, cast regeneration on the garudas, teleport the cristals, repair the bombs after they leaped, use incinerate on an enemy near a fire cristal, or storm on one near an air cristal...

thanks for the effort but for my share I continue to prefer the lizard town.
having animal-style creatures and heroes.

you're talking about castle specialized in magic but I think that 3 guilds and Spell and Shatter Spell
skills for Heroes, all of that allows to have a castle just a little bit specialized in magic but especially
personalized in magic, its own magic. Heroes can use small spells and use shatter for ennemies.
Kind of mix between shaman and sorcerer.

but I would like to have your « Bomb » NCF in the town.

btw, this town was supposed to be a bit special when it comes to magic. specialized in destruction and light magic. but they can't learn dark magic, instead they learn shatter dark.

if ever you manage to make the lizard town, you could try mine. there are already 3 models done

So for the gnolls and lizard heroes with models for each, yes it is planned and yes it is a good idea to not separate male and female : let's distribute equally the gnolls and the lizards among both sexes

I'm really interested in having a skillwheel like SimonaK described it :  Lizards faction have underground creatures who (according to me) love dark places, poison, furtive attacks and so on (see my idea about the two possible way for the creatures upgrades) so Dark Magic. They don't like the light of the sun and prefer poisoning their enemies than improving their abilities. So Shattered Light Magic.
These creatures live in a jungle-town, with buildings incorporated to the jungle trees. So we could give them the Summoning Magic. And Shattered Destruction Magic.

Why these choices ? With only two possible magic to learn, we can avoid the adventure spells problem and leave a level 5 magic guild in their town. Plus, they don't very like magic, and its two greater forms are according to me Light Magic and first of all Destruction Magic. They don't like fire and prefer summoning wasps.

What do you think of that ?

@Lord_Immortal : At the moment I have no time to explain how to add ModelInstances. Sorry but you will have to try yourself with the editor for now :s You can also watch into my NCF creatures and watch how I did
You add effects in the .(BasicSkelAnim).xdb files, in the <Effect href="???.(Effect).xdb#xpointer(/Effect)"/> tag. The file you point here contains all model instances, particle instances and light instances of this animation. Add model instances and point in these file the model to show as an effect.

Just to give you people a start, here is an exe that
allows for 999 creatures, 64 hero classes and heroes leveling up
to level 40:

NCF+64CLASSES+LEVELS

@Simonak, could you verify the exe has the proper amount of creatures, because I believe there was some misunderstanding a few months ago?

Another question: is it possible to add extra artifacts to the game with hex-editing? I think it would be great to have some extra artifacts too, especially shields.

not only for this town,but also for rest,and add all in patch kind of...
i mean get authoristion from pshtaka,and also we can have 2 female lizard models,2 male,(all unique) and same for gnolls.

This is separated MOD... of course the heroes of the Ziggurat will be each different and personalized according to their portraits. But for other factions, it is another MOD... Don't you think ?

but if you add that mod together,and increase it power,it could go Allmost must have. like some good mods for oblivion that the compony sells,only without the sell couse its illigal,but you can make that mod soo big and soo good,and you might get noticed by ubidiots!

I'm for wait and see when the NTF project have well advanced if we add or not this component. A great part of it was already done by this community in a thread.

I like the idea about dark-summoning and shatter destructive-light oriented faction (I didn't know this could be possible - how about low level spells from destructive and light?), as they dwell in the shades of the swamp jungle (lizards of water - not underground). And BTW, nice ears and earring! Keep the good work!

yes it's possible, I know now offsets for nbr creatures, nbr class and nbr artifact.
adding new artifacts is a great idea and perhaps the Ziggurat town MOD will offer new artifact coming
with the new faction!


About Heroes model

I suggest do not use other mod actually in progress.

yes and like others heroes from others faction, same model will be used for heroes of the Ziggurat!



Faction Name = Ziggurat

Class ID = HERO_CLASS_BEASTMASTER

Town ID = TOWN_LIZARD


of course a lot of town names and specializations should be created......

about skillwheel ...and for now just magic skill.

town oriented to dark magic and summon magic is nice,
so spells of these schools will be majority accessible in guilds magic.

probality to learn destructive and light will be weaker in their skillwheel.
