It's not an issue, its intended this way so that battles can be played out faster.

I had to reinstall Heroes 3 and the HD mod two weeks ago but now after I tab down once the sound starts crackling.
It does not do that when I run at 1920x1080 resolution or when I just run the vanilla Heroes 3 without mods.
Any advice?
EDIT: The sound is fine when you run it in windowed mode, it does only affect fullscreen :/

just upgraded to latest version 3.716 of HD mod and noticed there is no longer a way to pick what random map template you want from a drop down list.
is there a way to do this via the .ini file or something?
also i'm having an issue where can't load heroes via the hd mod. it just exits immediately without visible interface or messages. anyone else having similar problem? i got the HD CRASH LOG and sent to baratorch

Try to eanble HD+. I dunno about the crash, but you can always try to install HD mod on a fresh HMM3 install or try to launch it with admin rights.

Hi guys. I play Homm3 with HD Mod and i also sometimes play the normal one from GOG...I think the HD Mod it starting to screw my 8XM8 Rmg, because i created 3 maps with the mod and 3 maps on the normal, and it is different meaning that in the HD it kinda piles everything. Sometimes it gives no exit meaning one way entrance sends me back in the same place everytime, or there is no connection between surface and underground. Is it possible that the mod does that to my RMG? 8xm8 is the only rmg that i have so that is why i am asking

Would it be possible to add language localization for only a few special characters such as 'æ', 'ø' and 'å' (Danish) as a HD mod feature? It'd be useful when chatting with other players in-game.

I have a question regarding playing campaigns in HD Mod. When I run HD mod via era.exe or h3wog.exe and try to run the campaigns, it seems they are automatically WoGified, which adds a lot of WoG feature in the game. But I want to play campaign in their original form just in HD. How do I do that?
P.S. I cannot run simple heroes3.exe in HD as I get the .dll error then. So how do I remove disable wog settings during campaing game in HD mod via era.exe?

Are there anyone else, who getting problem with HD mod to play online?
Unfortunately i forgot the exact error message. But on my Win. 7 system it is not working. However common H3 Complete works.
For now i have installed common H3 and everything's fine with it.
Just for much better resolution and picture would like still to play HD.
Perhaps it it the matter of version? I had 3.2.000 or something like this. Should it be 4.0.00 or something? Or are there other tricks to apply, for example put 16 bit for desktop, run in XP mode etc?
I have tried those things on my pc, but no help.
Win 7 is 64bit version. Perhaps there's the problem?

So I just instaled it the latest version from the OP
and it says :
HD compatible executables not found!
HoMM3 should be installed in the game folder. HoMM3 HD is not compatible with "Restoration of Erathia", "Armaggeddons Blade", "Heroes Chronicles".
Can't play now at all. I only see the HoMM3 HD icon not the regular one

The launcher needs admin rights. Right click on exe > run as administrator.

also when clicking launch in the box that apears with the funcitons this message apears :
The program can't start because smackw32.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problemm.

First of all, you will need to install the HD Mod in a directory with Heroes 3, which is either at the level of the Gold Edition (like from GoG), or Shadow of Death.
Smackw32.dll is a dll that is used to play the videos ingame. The fact that it's missing seems to imply you also don't see videos when you play the game without the mod?

I have been trying to figure out how to get HOMM3 to run in Windows 8.1. I have tried most configuration settings, but it just seems to change the size of the game screen leaving a grey border to the edge of the screen.
-edit, the game crashed, and when I started it again, I was able to run it in a window, re-size it and all. I hadn't changed any of the settings

Afaik, it should, and I think I recall some players on heroes3tv playing with such setup.
