HD mod has a close relationship to HotA, so it's 100% compatible, yes.

Doesn't work for me at the moment.
First just after launching from HD launcher gives me an error that it is missing text resource "genrltxt.rus" but the game starts anyway. But soon after I get critical errors and logs from both HD mod and HOTA.

HOTA does work when using exe from Heroes folder, but not with HD Mod.
Would appreciate some help.

Yes, try as admin. If that doesn't work then download and run the HotA standalone installer.

You mean HD Mod, right. Yeah, tried it, but no change whatsoever. Downloading now that huge installer, hope that works. Thank you.
EDIT: I made just a bigger mess. Uninstalled that first HOTA installation, and then HD mod stopped working, uninstalled HD Mod, and reinstalled it again, and it wont now start 'regular' Heroes, as it's missing smackw32.dll.
HOTA from that bigger file installed fine in its own separate folder, and works, but how to make it work with HD Mod, as it worked before as well, using its exe from the folder?
EDIT2: Re-installing of Heroes Complete and HD Mod helped for regular Heroes. That now works.
Installed HOTA in it's own folder, and another instance of HD Mod there, and that now works too, as long as I don't check HD+ option.

Strange, but try running the HD launcher as admin if you didn't. Else do that but also set admin compatibility on the HotA.exe. You should still start the game through the HD launcher, of course.

Tried everything, still crashes. Maybe some other settings aren't compatible with my computer? Here's HD Mod's interface...

If I recall right, when installing Hota you just have to select Heroes III folder, not else. Same for HD mod. All go same place, then you get several executables. I see in your HD setup window a single executable, it should display Heroes3.exe also, no?

I had that before, with that 130 Mb installer. But HOTA wouldn't work via HD Mod, 'regular' Heroes did work with HD+. So, re-installed everything, and now have Heroes Complete (GOG) in one folder with HD Mod, and HOTA folder (installed with "full" HOTA installer - 400+ Mb in size) with another HD Mod (one from start menu starts HC HM Mod - other one have to run from folder). But again, HD+ checked, I get crashes with HOTA. No HD+, and it works, at least can have larger resolution.

I am now the third or so that really need help with hd connecting with gameranger.
If I don't replace the original heroes3.exe with the hd one it only lets me play the non-hd version of the game. If I replace it with heroes3hd.exe and rename it to heroes3.exe as the instructions tells me, I don't connect to the others playing on gameranger at all most of the time.
Then I have to uninstall hd to be able to play from the same directory again...
Someone told me hd was working for them, and thought that was because he had bought the original game complete cd?
Help!

Hello, just a small Bug report for the latest 3.804f release:
h3era.exe with 3.804f: the "Grid" function from middlemousemenue is not working. Other stuff there seems to work.

That's not true, Sal. You just dont use the HD mod. I always used Era and Hd mod together and rarely had any issues. But I stopped updating somewhere along 3.7.x because they removed the improved town portal interface from Wog among other things. Dont know if there's a problem in 3.8. Btw, I urge the developer to reconsider his decision about removing features from Wog. We were able to turn them off, anyway. Everybody prefers to update if the updates dont take away features from the game.

Baratorch himself announced that any era compatibility is going to be discarded. When I made HMS (heroes meeting screen), HD caused crash so I asked him for a fix. He didn't even bother to answer, so is clear that all HD upcoming versions will progressively end any compatibility with wog.

Thanks for the new 3.8xx patches, Bara. The addition (optional) of spell scrolls being identifiable without right-clicking is really nice, and I like it a lot. The original icons could maybe use a little 'clean up' around the edges (the black border pixels around the scroll), but it's very superficial, and it's mostly only noticeable when you drag the icon onto a lighter background.
I noticed a very small bug in new launcher. When you click on one of hyper-links under 'Information' then the 'Horn of the Abyss banner' disappears.Also, when I updated HD mod to the new 3.8xx patches then the HD mod changelog file wasn't updated. I found the updated changelog on your HD mod homepage, of course. *Edit: I actually missed seeing the changelog bottom when asking for updating. Maybe it was always there, or maybe it's a new addition, but before I just read the 'HD changelog.txt'.
Anyhow, good job.

Problem above fixed, I guess either new patch or by properly deleting heroes3.exe before replacing it with the new one instead of cutting it and pasting it for backup. I guess new version is more likely.

Some known HD+ERA bugs was already fixed in HD 3.800
But future 3.805 release will be truly ERA-oriented.
I hope it will be the best version of HD mod for ERA.

Nebuka, your problem is very strange. I'ts looks like HD not detect hota as hota and applies not compatible changes. It will be very helpfull if you will send me HD_CRASH_LOG.TXT
Try HD 3.80x. This version use different detection method.
