I recently found about the ''PvP neutral combat'' option and I would like to see it implemented for singleplayer. As an example let's say a CPU Hero fights against a group of pikemen, in that case I would like to be able to take control of the pikemen in the combat against the Hero CPU's army.

is it possible to change path to saved games directory?
I would like to play on 2 different PC's with onedrive as directory for all my saves.
Is it doable? Can't find anything usefull in this topic on the internet.

German translation and migration to GitHub
Hi folks,
thank you very much for keeping Homm3 alive which I enjoyed very much through my childhood! Now I am introducing the game to my son and he asked me if the language can be changed to German. Unfortunately it is currently not supported.
But I found a project which claims to have the german translation ready für HotA. Maybe it is possible to include it by default:

Another question is why the source and all features request/discussion stuff is not used via the GitHub platform? This would open up more possibilities for others to contriubte and also to provide PRs.

Separate question, my HD Launcher stopped working with HotA for some reason. None of the UI improvements are showing, it's all back to the old style. When I launch it with basic Heroes3, the new UI shows OK. This is with both the new 5.5 R78 update and my previous update of 5.5 R72.
Has anyone else ran into this before?
ED: FIXED BY UPDATING THE HOTA GAME!

I think it would be extremely tedious to have to click on every power-up building for all the heroes that you want the power-up on which would still be the vast majority if not all (at least for HotA because of the rule that you cannot hire defeated heroes until the rest of the hero-pool has been depleted). And the general direction of the HD+-mod is to make the game less tedious, I would reckon.

I guess he/she moved the post, but yeah I agree with you FdgK, it sounds tedious and annoying to have to actively check and click for those bonusses with all heroes.
Why would you not want those bonusses, it's almost like you are expecting to lose that hero. Even if that's the case, just buy it back, I don't see the problem.

Thanks, Phoenix4ever! I thought I was losing my mind when I didn't see the post I responded to, but now that I read your post I found it moved to the ‘ideas & suggestions’-thread.
Anyway, yeah, that's exactly what I was thinking. There really is no fathomable reason for one not to want those power-ups or all available spells on every hero. The scenario where you wouldn't want that is so niche that it doesn't really exist at all. It is for sure not worth it losing the QoL of having them auto assigned to all your heroes.

yeah, same for me too, not just adventure map but everything whilst fullscreen. {win10,1440p} hota HD 5.6 R1, 32bit verok, 1180x664, filter none, +linear, vsync off.
short term solution, visually approximate for me: run the game with 32bit GDI, bilinear sharper.

save game and window position problem in new HD+ mod version
1. the save game problem:
1) for "Shadow of Death" (Heroes3_HD.exe): in old HD+ mod verion (before V5.4R29), when press "S" key to save game, it will select the last saved file.
2) but in new version, it always selects the last loaded file.
I hope that "save game" functon can restore the old version's logic or have setting for the "save game" function.
2. the window position:
I found that the new 5.6 versoin, it can't read and save the "Heroes3_HD.exe" window position setting, for example, I set the window positoin:
Main Game X=300
Main Game Y=100
but it's useless in V5.6 version. it always use the default window position.

I'm having a problem with the WoG/Era3 editor. When I edit some heroes on the map it gives an error and often deletes parts of the map.
I've tried several things, between them reinstall everything in clean folders. While trying it I once edit several times the same map then, to test, I added this mod. The moment I tried to edit an hero after that, it immediately crashed.
Do you know anything about what can be causing this?

After 5.6 update the mouse cursor is constantly resets to 0,0 position (top left corner) after minimizing the game window with Alt+Tab (Using OpenGL wrapper). After maximizing it back the cursor constantly moves to 0,0 position causing the map to scroll. Very annoying bug.
The last version which didn't have this bug is 5.5 R98. Anyone knows how to fix that? Cause the devs don't respond. Many updates been released since the introduction of this weird bug, and none of them fixed it.

Not reproducible for me -
Probably just uncheck "Minimize on ALT+TAB", as it still works when it's not checked.

It's not reproducable because you unckecked Minimize on ALT+TAB. I have it checked and I use it a lot cause I constantly switch between the game and other windows on my PC. And it was great to switch back to the game instantly and have the cursor in the same exact position as on my screen, not going to 0.0 position and scrolling my map somewhere....
I honestly don't understand why there was a certain need to break something that worked perfectly.
