My guess is it'll be the Week of the Berserk Combat Hamster and they'll introduce a Cyborg Hamster from the future as a neutral. Oh how long I've waited for the Berserk Combat Hamster!! But the wait is finally over!! I can't be anything but that! It was the coolest week in H5!

Okay, I've just started to hate this "hey, we have uber news but we won't tell it til the next week" style.
This is the cheapest, most amateur way to maintain the interest and Ubihole did this too many times. Please, give us real news, videos, tutorials, qnas or don't tell anything. Do not try to stall for time like this. I am a negative man and it started to annoy me now but I am sure that after some more "we have news but you won't know them till next week" kind of "announcement" from the VIP fans and not I will be the only one who feels this way.

And why VIP fans know news before us? Alderbranchh said in his exclusive QnA that the reason of the existence of VIP fans is that they share their opinion about new game elements on a closed forum. But it looks that you give them every single news before us which is - again - annoying especially because they are amateurs (not in a pejorative meaning, I mean you didn't learn that so you are not professional comdevs) in communicating with big communities and they use this cheap "I know but I won't tell" trick too often.
I didn't saw any big info coming that wasn't spoiled before the official announcement by a VIP fan. Not the content itself, but the release of it, always followed by a "but I can't tell you any more *insert random smiley*" sentence.
I can understand the VIP fans because they actually bother with us and they see us agonizing here without any kind of official contact so they try to help us out or do something instead of those who SHOULD handle the situation. But as I said they are not professionals, they are not trained to do this, so they make mistakes.

Long story short: give us someone who is as much attractive, professional and kind as Xhane was, works as much on news, videos, etx as Xhane worked and is much more active on the most common fan forums than Xhane was.

Sorry about my opinion, no offense meant, moderate it if you think so.

Someone's jelly. NDA aside, news are ubi's business - not ours. All we can do is occasionally let people know whether or not to expect something so that they do not waste time on an update that may or not come. If you cannot appreciate that you are probably better off ignoring our posts.

when I said H4, I was specifically thinking about the resurrection skill, and not the magic skills. but in H4, there were too little differences between heroes, especially when you found a way to learn skills you didn't start with. for example, have a barbarian learn chaos magic and a warlock learn combat, and there is absolutely no difference between both.

Well I was referring to the same thing the resurrection as a skill you got if learning Life Magic.
In H6 from what I gather each hero has a tree and spells are unlocked by reaching a cert en level and maybe by choosing a type of path Blood or tears so basically a Inferno hero won't have access to resurrection unless he uses a scroll that gives the resurrection ability, given there are some magics that are usable by all magic heroes like magic arrow (don't know if this magic exists or something on those lines), so the chances of a reappearance of H4 situation are slim to non.
All this is speculation but seeing the Hero description and the info so far is the first thing that came in mind and made sens, for me at list.

Well, even if the Barbarian learned Chaos Magic, he still would have much higher Attack/Defence stats and much lower Knowledge/Spellpower than the Warlock (talking H4 here), so they wouldn't be identical.

100% speculation incoming:

I suspect it's still possible for any faction to reliably get Ressurection, not every faction will be as capable with it though.

I think a Warlock who picks his skills appropriately can (after achieving maybe his Tears upgrade) gain access to Ressurection under his Light Magic tree.
But a Warlock might not have the ideal stat alignment for using it, or can't get it untill later while a Cleric might be able to access it at a lower level, jump through less hoops to get it.

The reason I think so is that Ressurection is an incredibly powerful spell objectively speaking, the ability to conserve army forces not only directly effects the battles it's cast in, but the entire remainder of the game you benefit from extra troops you otherwise would have lost.

Haven just has the ability to acquire it regardless if they make a Magic Tears alligned hero, so either they could pick it up normally and get it through their class and then have both (one costing mana, one costing w/e the class ability thing uses) or they could ignore it normally and still get it as a perk anyway.
Just because Haven can get it through their class does not mean nobody else can.

100% speculation ends here.

On another topic.... the Beta, how will it work?
Think it will be multiplayer only? or only offline skirmish to test the AI? or both?
Maybe different beta phases focussing on different parts of the game?

I doubt we'll get an answer any time soon (well until we're playing it.) but anybody dare to speculate? (or know?! )

Even though the Sanctuary heroes appear to be humans, they look cool, I even see 2 Mortal Kombat characters among them.

The Inferno townscreen however, is probably the least impressive thing I've seen from H6 so far...

So what's this I hear about Crag Hack making a return?
It doesn't make any sense to shoehorn in heroes from past (slightly more cherished) games,
unless Crag Hack is the HoMM equivalent of Sid from Final Fantasy.

I remember reading on a wiki that there may be more than one Crag Hack:
One's a dwarf barbarian in H1-2, the other is a human barbarian in H3-4.

Without going into detail on that, Cid is a good analogy. Or you can think of the Heroes of Might and Magic as similar to the Avengers and the Ultimates in Marvel Comics. Similar characters on each world, but different specifics and origins.

Human Barbarian appears in Heroes series. 1-4.

Dwarf Barbarian is a character from several Might and Magic games.
Last one being a quest giver in M&M7 if memory serves (after he had a bit of space travel in a starship) .

Thanks you for your answers, I am happy, because you confirmed what I said.
I tried to write a constructive criticism about what shouldn't Ubi do and what should it do instead and you reacted with irony and started to criticize me myself and not my opinion.
That's exactly what a professional shouldn't do.
And again, I understand you because you can't do anything against this nonsense attitude of Ubihole and you try to mask it with awkward jokes and indulging in personalities of critics and it seems that it works pretty well on most of us but not on all of us. Sorry about that.

I think all heroes evolved the same way in H4. spellpower and knowledge were based on hero level, the only thing that made a difference for the strength of heroes was the combat skill, the only thing which made a difference for the strength of creatures was the tactics skills. heroes from different origins with the same level and same skills had the exact same strengths if I remember well...

@torin: Constructive criticism is welcome as far as I'm concerned (though, contrary to your expectations of me, I'll never pretend to be a professional anyway unless I receive a pension from Ubi ), I only asked you not to waste your breath because the new ComDev will be along next month - which was the whole point of your objection, I think. No irony or acrimony intended from my side.

His main objection is that you're teasing him with promise of news. He rather you stay quiet or give news right away without prior warning.

Edit: Weird, how come my post comes before Cepheus' which I quoted?

Elvin is not teasing, because he hasn't seen the content of the news either. All we know is when it's coming. We're all in the same boat.

This is a healthy fansite, and there are probably a lot of people refreshing these pages every five minutes, waiting for the next tidbit of news or even a hint as to when it'll come so that they can occupy themselves in the meantime.

Again, I'm no trained professional, and I don't want to sound defensive since we are the ones who should be answerable to you guys and not the other way around, but I think it would be highly irresponsible of us to stop telling you what we know just because one fellow thinks we're taking the piss out of him by doing so.

It is apparent that you do not understand how things work nor do you seem to know me or ceph. Let me sum things up, perhaps it will make more sense this way.

First off we have no influence on what will be publicly released and when, at best we can request some exclusive content and hope that ubi complies. Secondly we are not used as com devs nor is it our business to cover for ubi, I cannot begin to understand where you got this idea. If we try to smooth out the news process it is because we and most people wish so, not to rub our limited knowledge in your face. To say so would be ungrateful. There have been weeks with virtually no (actual)news and for all you know more will come, would you rather be disappointed at the end of the day or know whether it is worth waiting for something? Perhaps you do not but many regulars check everyday hoping for something.
