By picking your class he meant might or magic (so knight or priest for instance) ...

I don't think you can pick your class.....this happens as the game progresses and you choose between blood or tears (affecting your class)...
I think that heroes with creature specializations will be similar to H5, even though you have might and magic heroes in the same faction now, there are melee fighters as well as casters as creatures so creature specializations can be for both types...
As Nelgrith said, I meant you get to pick between base classes, like Knight or Cleric for example.
Those are "base classes" if you will, the other classes are "advanced classes" you don't take the Blood/Tears classes until level 10.
I also said likely some magic heroes will get creature specializations, but probably LESS then Might heroes, so 2-4 for might heroes and 1-2 for magic heroes.
I'm assuming Might heroes are still more relient on creatures then magic ones are so it would make sense.
But I never ruled out the possiblity of magic heroes having those specializations either.

So what do you think of the heroes? From what I have seen I am quite satisfied when it comes to art and bios. Specials seem a bit toned down but I can live with that, it is probably for the best considering some earlier game imbalances.

Well they certainly ain't the worst I've seen.
I'm just hoping that this Lord Haart doesn't go the same way as his namesake. That'd way too easy.

I'm pleased so far, though I'm curious what Lord Haart's "Leadership +4" means exactly.
Is that morale?
And it looks like we at least know there will be creature specializations, +6 Priestesses seems like an interesting feature.
However, this does stand at odds with the idea of the creature pool for core/elite/champion units as it is a specific +6 to one core unit.
Is there still a creature pool but outside of that pool there are also 6 extra priestesses each week?
Edit: yeah just read the faq about 2 minutes after I posted this.
Thanks for all jumping in to tell me though.

I made an update in the FAQ MrDragon. Leadership is morale methinks, I guess hero has leadership stat and units have morale stat or something like that.

Elvin just said in the other topic that each creature will have its own growth like in previous HoMM games

YES!!! This just made my day I never liked the pool-thing, and I'm sure it would have rendered some creatures useless/unused.

If every creature has it's own creature pool do we have separate buildings as well? I mean on the adventure map.

The artwork thread already has a few pics of creature dwellings. Each faction has three: one for core, one for elite and one for champion.

Hmm, two non-growing specialities. Personally I've alwys liked the ones that scaled more, even if some static ones were better. It makes for a more developing feeling. But I like the plus in growth still, it makes for some variety. The static +4 to leadership may be pretty good (but I think morale in inflated compared to earlier games, looking from the old combat scenes) but kindof boring.
Edit: And seperate creature pools = AWESOMENESS!

I kinda liked the idea of creature pools, it support cross-faction play which is something I've always been a fan of.
You could still get the maximum amount of creatures out of a town of one faction and the maximum amount of creatures out of a town of another faction.
Still it's nothing I'll lament as more then a brief fanciful idea.

They're really gonna recycle hero names now?
They had better be a nod to bygone times and not the same heroes from Erathia/Axeoth.
Edit: Apparently they are. Silly me. But, still...

Quote: Can't wait to see the inferno warlock heroes
Your point ?
In our culture, the warlock is someone who broke an oath or the codes of his community. Last I know, in Ashan, all Inferno heroes are humanoids who have been corrupted and decided to side with the Demons. In the Christian "mythology", warlock was the name of the male witches and they were associated to the Devil.
In Dungeons & Dragons, the warlocks are spellcasters who traded their soul for more powers. They are specialized into manipulating the energies of the lower planes (hell) and controlling demons. In World of Warcraft, warlocks are spellcasters wielding the powers of corruption and destruction and who can control demons.
Conclusion : The Warlock name fits perfectly to the Inferno Magic Hero.
