Rank 3 unlocks at level 20, so at level 20 you could buy 1 rank 3 ability and at level 25, 6 rank 3 abilities.

You're mixing up things there.
Rank 1 skills = level 1
Rank 2 skills = level 10
Rank 3 skills = level 20
The rank doesn't mean a skill has several ranks, it's just the row on which it appears.
Advanced and Ultimate skills are reputation-related, not level-based. Can't say more since it's under the NDA ^^

Upper skills obviously have stronger effects than lower ranks.

I just realized, at level 20 you could just pick all the level 3 skills. Wouldn't that be what everyone did every time?
Edit: Keep in mind you can respec every ten levels!

sorry to jump in like that but i will give my 2 cents for the skills. first of all I heard that it might stop being that you use them whenever you want and it might become like H5 that you MUST use it as soon as you take it. Also, I do not think that many players would risk waiting to get to lvl 20 to start activating them

As I said, you have to keep in mind the respec oftion. When at level 20 you can "free up" your 19 used skill points and redistribute them with all the level 3 skills available*.
* Those that are available that is.

From what I saw, it's not working exactly like this. In any case, the whole re-specing thing still seems very lame to me.

I think they will have taken that into account and will stop you from having more rank 3 skills then you have levels past level 19.
(So a level 23 hero can only have 4 rank 3 skills)
That's I think the only sensible solution to prevent respec cheese.
If they haven't... that would be kind of a silly oversight.

Once a creature in the hero's army has been attacked three times, its Might Defense and Health are turned to 0 until end of combat because the stack is dead...
For a rank three ability,that means late game,beign attack three times means that stack is either dead or heavily crippiled.Honeslty,three times?How many defense and health points are increased?

That's if you play previous HoMM games. Unless your stacks are A LOT bigger than your opponent's, you won't explode stuff.

Okay, so it's a fact that we can actually choose our abilities every level we gain without randomly gaining those abilities.
Lets say your playing an 8 player map with 7 of them being AI, will the AI's Heroes always choose their abilities the same way or will it be random?

Don't be too excited people - when I played the pre-beta it was boring after an hour. A lot of things need to be improved. So don't be too excited because i was so excited to play the beta but when I started playing i expected it to be 100% better! I am really ashamed! THIS IS JUST MY OPINION!
