Is Tactics 2 somehow influenced by terrain (or other factor), or did I just encounter a glitch? It's the only time I got 4 rows, but then again I couldn't play the beta much so I'm still kinda clueless about some things.

[EDIT] Vangelis: are you sure he didn't use his special breath attack?

Sorry, I don't come here a ton, but I do love HOMM.

I heard a rumor that townscreens were going to be back in the game and that the (horrid) town windows were going to be removed. Can anyone confirm if this rumor is true or not? Townsecreens are a big deal for me and I would love confirmation that they are back in the game.

This is what Irina the community developer said not so long ago.

So it looks like towscreens are on the list of "problems to fix," but nonetheless will not be included or "fixed" prior to release?

That is unfortunate. I would rather have them delay the project again and fixed the recognized problem with the town windows than release the project in its clearly unfinished state.

Frankly, we were lucky to get those two last delays. I wholeheartedly believe that a late June release would have been catastrophic but for various reasons one more release is not possible. And trust me, we had done all we could to stress that the game had to be delayed as long as possible, even when most fans complained The state of the game will turn out pretty decent after all even though a town screen/interface rework will not be present from the start.

Uh ... Why did they increase the Haven gauge filling ? Do they want Haven players to have 3 units protected each turn ?

I agree.  It's rare for developers to delay games twice.  Let's just hope the extra time was put to good use.  Heroes 6, more-so than a lot of games, is a game that will live or die by its fans.  I don't think it will bring a ton of new players to the series, making it that more important to appease the fans.

Hello guys, I return after a long pause, and luckily I had a chance to play the demo.

As the Inferno is my favourite faction I focused my gameplay on them. I noticed two things that really bothered me:

1, The gating ability charges really slow. When I fight random creatures on the map I barely use it even once. To tell you the truth I havent looked for any guides that would tell me what actions charge it, but I guess they are really specific

2, Other Inferno players probably noticed, that sieging is really a pain in the ass (sry for that word, but it's just perfect here ). What I mean is in the lategame we have only 1 flyer/teleporter who can go in the castle to do some job, he is the Pitlord. Thought they are pretti tough, they fall really fast if the whole enemy army focuses them. Another thing that happened to is that my Pitlord skipped every turn in the castle, because of the Vestal skill. I think he should be kinda immun to it

Even the ingame description says that he is immun to all negative mind influence. It's true that you can hit the gate with the Ravager ability, but even when he breaches the gate a large creature can block the entrance, and sadly the ravager is not the one who can kill anyone in a sec (he is rather the defensive part of the army). By the time the walkers can go in they are decimated by the enemy shooters. I'm vondering if the catapult upgrading skill (a don't remember it's name atm :S ) is a must have with Inferno.

After all the cry, what was really fun:
The Blood Magic skill Inferno is surefun. In the faction overview an other spell is described. I don't know if that is a new one in the beta, but in the demo it's adebuff that does damage when the stack acts, then jumps on another enemy within range. If u play it well it's a combat long damage, with minimal mana cost.
The Might Blood reputation is really a gamble for me. Tried it, and yes, the crits were really big, but as long as you wont stack as many destiny items on your hero that it's relatively reliable, I think it doesn't worth much.

In the end. I don't know if Elvin, and the other pros are about to do so, but I think I'm not the only one who's really curious about a pro level MMH6 duel I can't remember atm, but on youtube theres a chanel which had a lot of HoMM5 commentated duels, including some Elvin ownage So the question is, can I/we expect such videos during the beta?

Long time no see MarceS I love inferno myself, especially in the duels. Can really mess things up

Gating fills with luck - yours or your opponent's - so it is easier to fill in big battles but not so much early.

Right now I hate sieges, mostly because the siege master skill has not been fixed. If it could target specific walls and siege master II added an extra shot it would have been alright. Sanctuary is in even worse position than inferno as it is

There were a few duel matches on youtube but not exactly pro territory Doesn't help that the game does not save replays right now.

I think most of the changes in the 1.4 patch seem reasonable. I'm a little confused that all the racials and healing of heroes have been increased. But we'll see how it plays out.

The powersupply of my computer broke two weeks ago, so I haven't tried the 1.3 patch. Hopefully the new will come in time to play the beta a little more in depth than I have so far.

Edit: Wonder what the "Few interface tweaks" will turn out to be...

I Understand why thay incresed Damage spells, but why the healing one. Also the increase fo Sanctuary and heaven racial is somwhow not understandable for me.

I'M a bit confused as well. When I played Magic inferno hero, specced on blood repu, and mostly on fire spells, I felt like my damaging spells doesn't count at all. Had some items formagic power, and learned the "suport" skills as well (+ magic power both in fire, and prime). What I mean, is that some spells barely hit half the dmg of some creature's dmg.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I think when u spec that hard into destructive magic u should really bring the pain. Especially now, that ur hero acts only once per turn.
