Just because they wanted them to show on the adventure map's town model, they had to come up with something that would not make the town blow out of proportion. And the result is lacklusting to say in the least.
Who cares about how the town looks like on the map? If we wanna see how beautiful they are, that's what the Town Screens are for. On the map, you can have just the castle (or the hall if there are no walls) and it'll be all the same for us.
Not sure I agree. I think they look pretty good, actually, and I think the towns in general look good on the adventure map. If they can actually translate these looks into some proper town screens, I think it's not that bad.

Yeah, they look good on the MAP. Better than ever. But honestly now, do you like these grail buildings? Cause I think they're the most unimpressive, disappointing grail buildings we had. And that's because they wanted to make them fit in the adventure map town model. So I ask was that really necessairy?

I disagree whit you at this point. The towns on map are boaring, lack anything that makes it look alive, no common hauses, to uniform and pale. And the eightsided foritication at necro look like made in 1990's
One exception is Sanctuarry, I like that one.
But the gam is about tokens. I see a hero, not every unit in his army, why should I see all the structures, and if Id do I should be able to se all.. or do those 4k gold come from nothing, no hauses aso.

I'm with you too on that. I'd rather just have a castle or a hall if there were no walls for the map model of the town. For any additional info to outsiders, a piece of text would do fine. Everything else should be visible in town screens only.

Apparently there's going to be another edition of the game, the limited edition: http://gameshop.ro/game.php?id=6674#
The game comes in a steelbook, along with H3 and some in-game bonuses.

EDIT: Wouldn't it be great if, when they included things like that, the developers updated the graphics engine? Not to make things 3D, but just to make them cleaner and display properly on a current monitor.

And aren't they worried that people are gonna say that the bonus game (H3) is better than the main game (H6)? LOL

You have a high opinion about todaysyoung gamers. Thay do not have any interests in a game that is not "Up to day" in graphycs.

Sadly I will have to agree. Of course not having played a series from the start you can adjust to newer titles easier and possibly find them more enjoyable for what they have to offer.

Yeah, I suppose they would not appreciate it. Can't say I blame them. Those who know and love H3 already got it. Those who don't know it, have no chance to love it.

I wouldn't go that far. But starting with some specific features as default, make the game more.. familiar to you. Take Milla in celestial heavens, she started with H4 and didn't so much like the rest.
Burn the witch? 
And if you started with H5 you would no doubt miss the skill and combat complexity of the game in H3. Or alternative upgrades for that matter.

Now that I think about it, I don't know anyone who showed any love for Heroes 3 if he was introduced to the series with Heroes 5. All of them compared it to Heroes 5 and found it lacking.

I owned Heroes 3 about ten years ago, but I've gone through several computers since then and not all of them were PCs; unfortunately H3 was among the casualties.
That said, I can get Heroes 3 and 4 for ten dollars. If the price difference between Heroes 6 and Heroes 6 Limited Edition is less than ten dollars, I might be persuaded.
(Somehow, I doubt it.)

You can't blame them. If I saw two games, one being a sequel, and if I see the graphical differente between the two games, I would automatically assume that the latest game is better, since it's more modern, and wouldn't even care for the other game.

It's an even bigger problem with games that are story sequels; when the graphics are two years ahead in the second game from where they were in the first, players feel cheated when they get interested in the series and have to go back to three-year-old graphics in order to get the full story.
It's the sort of thing that makes you wish they would just release both games at the same time.
For Heroes 3, I really just wish they would improve the supported resolutions so as to be playable on a 1600x900 monitor (which is what I have).
