That's true, but none of them is confirmed for MMH:VI so far. I am talking about the names of the officially announced creatures.
Lammasu has just been announced, and it's a deity (singular). So there's the precedent right there.

Well, I am not really sure if the Lamassu is an unique character or family of creatures, it's not impossible to be the latter.

Actually it's a lesser god, not unlike some divine majordomo or generally servitor. Bit like I said, I am not really sure about this one. Lamassu and Adad could be related like Cerberus and Orthrus - unique brother and sister (and brother and brother) or could be just designations for particular sub-races. In the Assyrian records they are mentioned in plural I believe, but I have to check a few things before being able to claim something for certain.
Enough off-topic for now anyway.

Yeah do that I didnt know you had to vote on both the normal creatrue and the upgraded creature. ^^^
I think we can all agree that Cerberus should be changed to Orthrus, it just makes so much more sense.
Oh, and about the Abyss Dynast, I thought Pit Fiend was fine for the unupgraded creature so that's why I did not change it.

I wish. So far only you and I have voted for Orthrus.
+1 for Griffin/Royal Griffin. It makes sense (difference between a Guard and a Royal Guard, one generally has more responsibility and is better equipped and trained).
-1 for Unworthy Lich/Graveborn Lich. I don't really want to call any of my units unworthy. It doesn't make them sound badass, and they're already not one of the coolest looking creatures.
-1 for Abyssal Persecutor/Hellcarver Demon. The two names have no common ground, no strong foundation that they work off of. In my opinion they don't complement each other well at all. Also, "(anything)carver" doesn't sound like it belongs in the name of the Juggernaut.
-1 for Narasimha/Criosphinxes. A criosphinx has the head of a ram instead of a human.

I agree, but Imperial makes it redundant with the Imperial Griffin, the name which just expect to remain unchanged (why - well, let's say that I just have this feeling ). Initially I was about to name them Imperial Crossbowmen too. So if Imperial Griffin is changed to War Griffin or generally Something-Else Griffin, I'll vote for Imperial Crossbowman too.

I actually applaude that they seem to strive towards NOT having too many creatures named by the scheme:

There are a few exceptions (the recent Putrid Lamasu -> Festering Lamasu is one example, the Griffin is another) and I accept that sometimes avoiding it can be tough, but I think making names like Marksman > Imperial Marksman would be both dull and unnecesary.

Hi, sorry I missed this, I'm not at my home computer.
I know that a few creature designs were indeed altered earlier in the project, but there are different priorities now. It probably depends on whether there is time to spare. With the current release date schedule, I'm just not sure personally. I don't know all the facts.
However I hold out hope that a few creatures may get some sort of revamp (especially the Celestial). All I can point out is a public statement from Black Hole on their page:

I'd like thre oldschool pikeman instead of sentinel.
Crossbowman->Marksman, Griffin->Imperial Griffin is good.
Sun Rider->Sun Crusader is ok, but when I first heard them I though something's just wrong with it. Sun Knight->Blazing Templar? Kinda long, maybe a more simple Knight->Sun Crusader, but then the base version shouldn't have a blazing steed. Which is good, because ten the flight would be a great reason to upgrade.
Seraph->Celestial is somehow stupid. I enjoy the basic Angel->ArcAngel names, but basicly any combo could work for me.
Skeleton->Bone Guard is fine by me. Maybe Bone Soldier for the upgrade.
Ghoul->Grave Ghoul is also ok, but maybe Ghoul->Ravager, Ghoul->Ghoul Scavanger, or Ghoul->Black Ghoul. All of them are fine.
Ghost->Spectre also a good one. We could also change Ghost to Wraith, and Spectre to Banshee
Vampire->Vampire Lord is fine to me. Nosferatu is a terrible name for the upgrade though cause the original Nosferatu is way closer to a H6 ghoul than to a vampire. I propose Vampire Knight->Vampire Lord
Lich->ArchLich is boring. I really like how Graveborn sounds, so either Lich->Graveborn Lich, or Lich Mummy to further support the egyptian theme.(btw I hope they're core units, cause the discription states vampires are made from them, and they look very infant compared to H5, and without Death Cloud)
Putrid/Festering Lamasu is ok, but sounds meh. Try a simple Lamasu->Sphinx
I really love the Tormentor->Excrutiator!
Succubus->Temptress is great aswell.
Pit Fiend->Pit Lord is classic.
Juggernaut->Dreadnough is a must.
My problem is with the Hell Hound->Cerberus. Why change the number of heads to not match neither the base or the upgrae's name? I suggest Orthus->Cerberus, and add a third head for the upgrade if it's possible.

Thank you for your post. I tried my best to incorporate everything you said but not all of it was completely clear. For example, I had no idea what your opinion on any of the Hellhound/Cerberus names were. I really liked some of your suggestions though.

I still really hate Excruciator. Agonizer sounds so much better. Given the description of the unit, though, I like Tormented/Excruciated. I don't know why Excruciator bothers me so much but Excruciated doesn't. It's just how it feels saying it, how it sounds. Regardless I think Tormentor/Agonizer is my favorite.

Suggestions:
Succubus Concubine -> Succubus Mistress (+3, +0)
Succubus/Temptress isn't that bad, but Succubus Concubine/Succubus Mistress is just such a good suggestion. ^_^
