It was surprisingly low key, but President Obama recently announced that he will be running for re-election in 2012.

Doesn't come as a surprise. There really aren't any viable candidates anywhere that would get nominated.

P.S.

I also find Barrack heavily resembles Heroes 1 Tsabu. (It's the face wrinkles in the right places, Heroes 2 Tsabu is too smooth skinned.)

My hubby first pointed it out on his Heroes 1 shrine page (which he just updated today after 2 years of neglect)

I think its a great idea to let the honorable and respectful non-imperialist Chinese take control over the US. I am convinced that your country would grow then and China is already controlling your "economy" anyway.

Anyway, I still think the US is boring because there are only 2 parties with power. It's 50% dictatorship!

Also I have noticed that the word Socialism seems to be a negative one in the US. Why? I don't see anything wrong with Socialism. Isn't it wonderful that a country has a good, stabile wellfare with free education and healthcare and some state companies so that the power producing companies don't aim for profit etc?
(and yes, I know China is a capitalist and not socialist country - YET)

From a young Swedes point of view, these are things that the US has to fix.

*Do their part with the enviroment
China is spending the most money in the world on the enviroment.

*Get a good socialist wellfare up
Raise taxes in order to get good free healthcare and other social services.
Stop be so cruel to your prisoners, there is a big potential labour force right there.

*Stop with your barbarism
Stop trying to appear as the "protectors of the Earth" and all warmongering. Stop with torture and all that.

*Focus on the people's health
Raise taxes on unhealthy stuff such as fast food and candy etc, but also cigarettes and alcohol. Inform people about what's bad for your health etc in schools etc.

*Change your attitude
Sorry, but you don't impress us at all. The US is not a country to look up to, atleast in Sweden there are lots of negative views on you. Lose the attitude.

*Put pressure on Israel
* Israel is the new Nazi Germany and has Apartheid 2.0
They have done lots of crimes and nobody cares. Yes, this contracts another point I made but thar country still annoys me and in Sweden, the majority of the people sympatize with the palestinians. Of course, the UN must be involved with this too.
Atleast 50% of the world's conflict today have roots in Israel and the surrounding area.

The birther issue will run its course and then pewter out. It'll terrorize his PR for awhile, but people are ultimately going to vote based on taxes and budgeting.

His straightforwardness in talking about the Chinese keeping their currency artificially low is... ballsy. It's been known for awhile that if the yuan were allowed to freefloat it would substantially raise. The question is if other major importers of Chinese goods would be willing to follow suit in imposing tariffs. I don't like the idea of the USA starting (or rather, reacting) to a trade war by itself.

His stance towards Iran/OPEC is suicidal imo. Someone like Paul Ryan that is a little more tame in that regard would be more appealing.

Trump to reveal "interesting" information about Obama. I guess we'll soon enough if he is blowing smoke or has a smoking gun.

Clicky

Quote:

Possibly-serious Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is giving few details about the investigation he claims to have launched in Hawaii to get to the bottom of where President Obama was born, but the business mogul told CNN Thursday Americans will be "very surprised" by what he has found.

"We're looking into it very, very strongly. At a certain point in time I'll be revealing some interesting things," Trump said on CNN's American Morning.

Trump first claimed earlier this month he had sent investigators to Obama's home state in an effort to find out if the president was indeed born there, as he says he was and several media organization's independent investigations have confirmed.

"I have people that have been studying it and they cannot believe what they're finding," Trump told NBC then.

But Trump has since offered few details about the on-the-ground investigation and, in the interview with CNN Thursday, wouldn't specifically say if it had uncovered new details.

Are you kidding me he is perfect for 2012! I for one can't wait to watch yet another joke of an election. I wonder if Palin will think that is road kill on his head and try to shoot it?

How very... nonspecific.

It's almost like he's defending his position with hot air and promises.

Mind you, that's a stance many politicians take (at least 90% of them, being generous to them as we all know there is probably far more than that).

More from Van Jones, a communist who Obama had appointed as a czar and who was forced to quit after Beck exposed him (Jones had been a founding member of several communist organizations, among other things.)

Clicky

Quote:

Van Jones, the Obama administration's controversial former "green jobs czar," has found a new calling: helping to push for a new, global architecture of environmental law that would give Mother Nature the same rights status as humans.

...

Jones is taking up the challenge as one of the newest board members of an obscure San Francisco New Age-style organization known as the Pachamama Alliance, which has been creating a global movement to make human rights for Mother Nature an international reality — complete with enforceable laws — by 2014. The Rio summit will create an important midpoint for that campaign.

Jones joined the alliance's board last December, shortly after the organization announced creation of the Global Alliance for the Rights of Nature to carry the concept around the world—and install it not only in international law but in the statutes of communities and municipalities across the U.S.

He resigned from the administration in September 2009 after making public apologies for some of his past actions, including the signing of a 2004 petition that questioned whether the Bush administration had deliberately allowed the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks to happen, and his previous affiliation with a self-described communist organization, the Standing Together to Organize a Revolutionary Movement (STORM).

So Obama just released his birth certificate.  I've no illusions this is going to shut all the crazies up, but even so I can't figure out why the White House released it now.  Seems to me it would have been better to let all the far right wing wackos and tea partiers to keep chasing their tails over a non-issue.  ??

I was under the impression that Hawaii law didn't allow people to send representatives to pick up the birth certificate, only the short form. So either Hawaii changed it's laws or made an exception?

I mean, the State's Republican government has been saying for years that the thing is real.

Edit: Oh, right.

Quote:
Obama had to make a formal request for certified copies of his birth certificate because, normally, the Hawaii health department only generates computer copies. Loretta J. Fuddy, the Hawaii health director, wrote Obama that her department would make an exception, given "your status as President of the United States."

Which is why the short form was given before, no law skipping Presidential exception. At least people won't accuse him of not realeasing it because he has something to hide on it. *cough*

Bingo, Shyranis.  Who's responsible for this?  Was it Colbert or Stewart?

PRICELESS.

<EDIT>

(From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

Quote:
Long form, 2011

On April 22, 2011, Obama asked Loretta Fuddy, director of the Hawaii Department of Health, for certified copies of his original Certificate of Live Birth ("long-form birth certificate").[45] Accompanying the letter was a written request from Judith Corley, Obama's personal counsel, requesting a waiver of the department's policy on computer-generated certificates. Corley stated that granting the waiver would relieve the department of the burden of repeated inquiries into the President's birth records.[46]

On April 25, 2011, Fuddy approved the request and witnessed the copying process as the health department's registrar issued the certified copies. The same day, Corley personally visited the department headquarters in Honolulu to pay the required fee on Obama's behalf, and received the two requested certified copies of the original birth certificate, an accompanying letter from Fuddy attesting to the authenticity of same, and a receipt for the processing fee. Fuddy said that she had granted the exception to its normal policy of issuing only computer-generated copies by virtue of Obama's status (as president), in an effort to avoid ongoing requests for the birth certificate.[47] [48]

OH GOOD HEAVENS -- Obama abused his presidential authority by forcing Hawaii officials to BREAK THEIR OWN LAWS prohibiting release of official birth certificates!!!  He should be IMPEACHED!!!
