after another bug that kicked me out from the battle
I decided to stop playing Heroes 6 untill the expansion,
otherwise i just want to break my laptop, puke on the screen and assassinate the developers!
so will leave H6 alone for now..
P.S>(may have a look on new town screens though if they are released before expansion)

I understand how you feel….
I am going to keep playing Heroes 6, but I expect the old town screen to be back in the next patch. If it is not…. I will be stark raving mad….

well, we know they are working on them as there is a Necropolis WIP town screen in the game files
it would be smart of them to release a screenshot on one of those

You mean that I have a picture of a necro town screen in my heroes folder on my computer?

As Xerox said, they are working on it. Knowing how high expectations are, they'll be working on it for quite a bit yet to come.

That picture that Xerox posted, I think that's an awful town screen! I hate it! It doesn't look like a town at all. I wish they'd take the immersion aspect of it more seriously, and I wish they'd make the town feel more alive by doing what only H1 has done so far, by including the creatures in the town screens, just hanging out by their dwellings, or at least something along those lines.

Yeah I don't like that picture either. It looks like a comic book picture of a depressing industrial area.
I prefer real looking pictures that have a fantasy base. My favorite is probably the Rampart Homm3 one.

well, it's the necropolis, it's not supposed to look alive. 
but it looks quite cubical.
I wonder what's supposed to be that building (???) at the bottom, on the right? they just built a massive wall for the sake of it? it has no door, no windows ???

Ahhh... Rampart... It is one of the best town screens, combined with one of the best music, making Rampart my favorite town until today.

Mostly like academy, the rest not so much. They fail to give that great overview of H3. Speaking of which, academy seems a cross between H3 and H5 while stronghold a mix between H3 and H4.

I agree. It is as if the perspective in the fortress picture needs to walk forward about 50 feet so that the giant tree is isn't in the way anymore, and that the town below is in full view.
Academy one is really good.

Academy + Fortress = <3
Stronghold is still good (way better than the H6 Necropolis above imo.), but a bit more generic, a lot like the H3 one.
Screw overview if you ask me. Nobody uses the Town Screen for hiring anymore anyway, those pictures have loads of atmosphere, and that's what matters to me.

The Stronghold scenery reminds me of Fallout. I bet there are some centaurs among these cliffs in the background.

I like the beta townscreen thingie Xerox posted. Sure it's fairly colorless and monotone now, but let's not forget they are 1) still being developed and 2) likely to be 3D flythroughs, like H5's. Obviously not finished yet, but it's a good start
