Just recently Blizzard released 275 000 beta access keys to peoples battle.net accounts. Go check and see if you won the lottery. There'll propably be more keys released as we get closer to release, as it usually goes that way.
Demos are kind of abolished in the modern game market, since almost every statistical investigation shows that it will earn you less money.

I think it's the starter edition, bur it's worth a shot nevertheless  You don't need beta access, just log in to your battlenet account and start the dl...

I don't understand why people are so obsessively obsessed(Ha-Ha!) with playing the D3 Beta. Why would anyone want to play an unfinished game? Okay, okay I understand, it's just that I personally see it as spoiling the fun before the true game is released. Because unlike games like H6 and SC2, in Diablo the multiplayer and the singleplayer is actually the same... (you know what I mean.) thereof spoiling the gaming experience that is supposed to wait until the 15th of May.

Pfft I just want to see whether it'll run smootly (one of the reasons why i didn;t buy H6 at realease, because it lagged like hell in the demo, probably a bugh though  )
Besides I doubt anything will be 'spoiled' (apart from gameplay mechanics). In the end depends entirely on your personal tolerance.

It's not like Dota2 where playing beta is pointless yet kids beg for beta keys in opulence - it's actually a new game, and may or may not be fun to me. If it isn't fun, it's better to get sure about that at free beta rather than after blowing up 50$ on this game.

Then there's the level race. First one to max wins, and if you can get an extra thirteen levels here, as well as try out all of the characters and several basic builds and even gather up some basic gear and money, then you've got a head start.

Yeah I get it, if I wasn't so lazy or overly fearful of spoilers(I'm strange, I consider the most tiniest of things to be spoilers) I'd probably give the beta a go as well.
