I sometimes think that the dictionary should add "Tyranids" to the list of definitions for "Swarm", they are definitely one of the most difficult armies to deal with when using less than 1000 points. I have only versed Tyranids once since their update with my Necrons, I definitely almost had em', my biggest mistake was not marching my Necron Warriors on from the side of the board, and rather ended getting them locked up in battle in the front... Caused me a phase out.

THQ sent a letter to several media outlets clarifying the situation:

It has come to THQ's attention that some media are reporting that we've announced game details and a release date for our upcoming massively multiplayer online project, Warhammer 40,000: Dark Millennium Online. At this time THQ has not officially announced a release date and any reported features are pure speculation. THQ will announce confirmed game features and an official release date at a later time.

Then again, it may not be all bad.  Guardsmen becoming assassins was a really stupid idea.

THQ have published all the recent Warhammer 40k games?

I think Relic has done a reasonable good job with them.. My favourite still remains Fire Warrior and the first Dawn of War.

ALL OF MY MONEYS, TAKE IT NAO!

Oh, named necron lords, and a necron "overlord"?

I think my biggest problem is this: why would the necrons need physical transports

Also hoping that the C'tan get some kind of a makeover.

EDIT: I looked on Dakka and it has been rumored the fluff with C'tan is that the necrons actually hunted and killed most of the C'tan in the galaxy. SOUNDS LIKE TOTAL INSANITY TO ME.

Eh? Sounds odd, I know that The Laughing God (being the snow he/she/it is) tricked the outsider (one of the C'tan gods) to go and kill other C'tan..

The storey always goes that the C'tan imploded (mainly due to the Outsider being tricked into killing them all) and there are only 4 remaining with the Nightbrigner and Deceiver being the usable ones, the Outsider kind of disappeared and the Void Dragon is worshiped by the
Machine cult on Mars (apparently they're trying to wake it out of slumber, lulz will be had by the Crons when they do).

God I love 40k lore.

Actually The Deceiver tricked the Nightbringer to eat other C'tan aswell.

Another interesting note is that the Outsider is inside a Dyson Sphere on the edge of the galaxy, what is interesting is that the 2 major Tyranid hivefleets have made massive course adjustments to avoid this sphere. I wonder did the Outsider go into the sphere by choice or did the other C'tan imprison it

Also the Void Dragon is most definitely on Mars as 5 Necron light cruisers managed to bypass all the defences of the Solar system and 1 even landed on the Labyrinth

Wasn't there something about The Outsider being a potential puppeteer of the Tyranid invasions?

I am really hoping that the new codex might shed some light on the Outsider and the C'Tan, because it could easily be brought back in as a unit, but I suppose that would be upto GW and whether they want to make the crons more about the Necrons and their Tomb worlds or about the C'Tan (hoping they do both).

Did not know the outsider was in a dyson sphere, chances are Tyranids would of perhaps not detect anything consumable in it?

I do remember hearing that the Necrons tried to get to the Void Dragon, the Void Dragon really just seems to be another one of those things in the 40k universe which could cause massive destruction and really screw over everything haha.

But how excitable is it that the Necrons are finally gonna get a well deserved update.. Thought it wouldn't happen for another year, but like the Dark Eldar, they were well in need of it.

Yeah, it has been speculated the Outsider is controlling the hivemind or that he is the hivemind.

Quote:
chances are Tyranids would roll on past it if it doesn't have anything consumable in it, suppose it raises the question on whether the C'tan could be considered biological or what..

The thing is that the hivefleets completely went around the sphere which kinda says they were afraid of it

But the tyranids generally stay away from Tombworlds.

Also the C'tan are "energy" that is in a metal shell.

Checked again and one thing that struck me is that one of the named lords is the storm lord, yet waaaaaayyyyyy back in the Medusa V campaign, because of his failure, the Deceiver left him in the middle of warp storms, promising to return after a 1000 years to administer proper "punishment".

I guess that erm, they completely ignore that or there is a new storm lord

Are there any 'friendly' factions ?

I don't mean the tea-party types, just a faction that isn't as likely to rip you in half as to talk to you

That would be the Tau.

They'll offer you to join them, let you live in what is basically concentration camps, neuter you, and live happily ever after under the Tau master race. If you don't take the offer you get to eat Railgun fire.

The Eldar might seem friendly as well but that's just cuz they saw some weird destiny path where they have to be friendly to you. Then they'll rip you apart.
