Am curious, what armies does everyone have (both 40k & Fantasy if you like)?

Despite having the 4th and 5th Edition Rule Books, Ork, Tyranid, Necron, Imperial Guard, 4th and 5th Space Marine, Chaos Daemons, 2nd and 4th Chaos Space Marines, Witch Hunters, Blood Angels, Space Wolves, Assassins, Grey Knights, and Tomb Kings (latest) codicies, I do not have any armies.

I should really look into getting the Tau, Eldar, Dark Eldar, Black Templars, and Dark Angels.  Maybe next time I am home.

12000 Necrons
7000 Slaanesh Chaos Space Marines
2500 Imperial Guard Traitors
2000 Grey Knights
1500 Chaos Daemons and Beastmen that I usually use with CSM or traitor Guard.

That's my W40k armies.

Also have fully assembled Necron, Chaos and Imperial Fleets in Battlefleet Gothic.

I have more codices than I have armies. Speaking of which, all my armies are not fully assembled and none of them are painted. Lacking anyone to play against, (I could if I wanted to, but that would require 30 minute commutes at the very least and I don't have that much time to spare) I've not been able to convince myself of the necessity. I realy like the assembly of the miniatures, but seeing how I'm often not able to read my own handwriting, I'm a bit frightened by the painting.

Having said that, I have a Space Marine, Imperial Guard, Ork and Tau Codex, plus several Imperial Guard novels.
I have a 7th fantasy rulebook, a 7th and 8th edition Orcs and Goblins codex and a 7th edition Lizardmen codex.

I have three armies in varying states of assembly:
Lizardmen: 1167
Orcs and Goblins: 1543
Imperial Guard: 801
I'll add their points value in an edit, as I never managed/bothered to total them.
Edit: I've added the points value for my armies.

Painting really does take a long time to perfect, stuff you do 7 or so years ago will be complete mince to what you are painting like today, and so you re-paint them.

One time, With some of my old metal models I put them in Turpentine to make the paint much easier to strip off, came back after a day and all the bases had melted.. Luckily the models were all fine. heh.

I have never met someone who owns codexes, yet doesn't collect the army, it also seems that the codexes are probably gonna head in the direction of hardback covers (am only going on the bases of the new Ogres codex being hardback, but am still slightly happy about this!), yet GW will most likely jack up the prices... I actually dread how much the new Necron models may cost. ugh.

Hey, you didn't say what armies YOU have

Also, Im not so much worried about the cost of the new models as I am worried about their quality

Well the 8th edition Orcs and Goblins is a hardback as well, the Tomb Kings looks to be of the same kind. It also seems to me that the new codices contain ever more lore, even though some things are retconned, which for lorehounds like myself is a good thing.

I actually do prefer hardback codexes, something to write on when standing around the battle table

I have a Legion of Necrons and Tomb Kings and.. well a pack of Space Marines (first army, go figure ).

I feel I have been quite fortunate this year with the update of Tomb Kings and Necrons.. hehe.

I had a small army of Dark Elves and a codex for 'em and that's about it.

Which is quite a lot, considering their prices are the same or higher (due to imports) than in the UK, and our wages are about 5 times lower.

And I didn't even like the game mechanics.

I had a chance to buy a copy of Blood Bowl today, realized I had nobody to play it with and no desire to purchase teams individually, and then opted to buy the Warhammer codex instead.

As to buying the codexes without playing it, oddly, I enjoy the lore.

Oh yes, before I forget.  Everything went with with my finacee.  She is recovering nicely.  They removed a 2 pound fibroid from her.  The pictures are quite disgusting.

Thats good news Omega, a hastey recovery I imagine?

Just saw this on the front page of beasts of war, I think it was an aprils fool that they've just revived due to the new models,
but is still quite possibley the best model ever.

Behold, the MEGALITH:

Sorry if the image is a bit weird, the only one I could find, beasts of war has a video for it as well.

I seriously recommend the video, they talk about the rules and show of the mechanical feature of it, was very cleverly made and quite funny how they play down the rules as being weak..

If that is the complete model IMO it does not fit the necron style .

Also it looks so big you could simply run over puny space marines with it

Yeah, you're right, It doesn't fit the necron style, those weird things on the corner and those greek columns on the sides just gave it away for me. A nice contraption though, I like that it would split off into 7 other monoliths once destroyed haha. My god how OP would that be if it were real?

I also nopticed that they have had to take down all the new necron model pics, due to GW doing what GW does best, enforcing copyright laws.

Luckily, i saved them all on my PC and can upload them to photo bucket if anyone likes?..

Then the necron lord could yell "SURPRISE MONOLITH PHALANX!"

Also it still makes no sense for them to keep everything quiet until the very last minute

I wonder how it would feel having that happen to you if you were imperials.. I don't even think commandants could keep a straight face.

Yeah, they are Nazi's like that, I am curious about the models which haven't been leaked.. Interesting article on Beasts of War about concept images done around the 3rd edition of potential Necron unit, one caught my eye, of a giant 'war barge', sort of like the megalith. Probably where they got the idea for it from.

I have, it's great. Not a big shooter fan normally, but this may change my opinion about that. Then again, not everything is shooting Orks. It's also Chainswording Orks and Power-axeing Chaos-marines and daemons.
If you're a 40k fan, you's gonna like this.
