I got 609 legacy points from season 2.
The month before I got 570 points from my season 1 server, but I can`t add them up as I didn`t use legacy to start this season 2.  

that sounds more like a bug to me, you should be able to apply your s1 and s2 legacies for s3.  I would contact mmhk support

I agree with Korone, that we should crate another threat for discusion, what to do in S3.

Also I hope that we will start in DL S3 server and we will fight against the best alliances in the US. But nobody knows if they plan to start on DL 3 too...

It messed up my legacy a bit so there's 32 points lost there for me and Orry (

No, it is not a bug, there are threads in the HMMK forum saying that it is really that way, you have to use legacy in season 2 to accumulate for both seasons.

I think people are underestimating the benefit of daily recruitment in holding the entrances to fortresses.

Because the entrance is magic free, there is no need to fear meteor showers,plagues so massive monostacks of t2 are incrediably useful.

I'm thinking slyvan with daily recruitment if i have my 'good' legacy by then.

Players with both DR 10/TC 10 will definitely be quite valuable in season 3.  I don't think they would make good gatekeepers, but they do have a source of production that is hard to match for fortress sacrifice.  Having several Sylvan players with TC 10/DR 10 would give any alliance a definite edge over their competitors.

For gate fighting, a player using a non-magic legacy hero with CL8/BF10 and a full suite of defensive artifacts would be the most annoying thing to fight.  I am not sure if it is worth using a full legacy to do this, though.  Half of the role of gate fighter can be filled by players with offensive BF heroes, and there may be players out there that use protectors with BF that can fill the role of gate defence.  The only niche a non-magic legacy hero would truly fill is to both take and block the gate at the same time during a major fort attack, and this will be for less than 1% of the server's duration.

The change to the runic fortresses isn't that clear...

All that can be gleaned from his statements are that Fortress Gates will be harder to overcome, and the bug (probably the antimagic one) will be fixed.

He goes on to say that there will be no more 'suicide attacks', but isn't clear as to whether he means fortress bombing as a whole, or being able to suicide bomb the 100% Antimagic levels.

The...universal forum (for lack of a better word) has a section showcasing the changes that will occur in season 3.  There are a few things to note in particular...

Well I guess we will wait and see, and modify our favorite legacies for s2 to something else.  More artifacts, personally I hope there are more powerful ones than these micro 9% 6% whatevers.  And better names perhaps, instead of howling & corrupted whatevers.  I still can't get over the term seals, I keep thinking of...

I'm hoping they throw in this stuff with the PvE season that starts on the 16th.  Otherwise, there will be a lot of stumbling around in the dark finding things out in unpleasant ways.

They've also added a post on the 'summer PvE season'.  Judging by the description, it seems like one big seal farm...so bored ToH players can get together on it, I guess.  It also states that the goal is to hold runic fortresses uninterrupted against the Dark Elves for 40 days, so perhaps the reason season 3 starts in late September (or later, even).

1157 legacy, thanks Requiem/Korone for making sure I still ended Ravaged Lands 2 top 10 at something.  Can't promise much for S3, but I might be able to serve as an after-hours co-manager for a crazy player who wants two accounts--the upcoming rules changes will probably be enough to draw some interest from me.

What exactly do seals do?  How much am I missing out on by not farming them?

"Change mines in region", wtf?  All hardcore players replace first rare mine with gold?

Yes, using seals you can change your mine combos.  It changes strategy somewhat, and removes luck on where you end up.  Of course, everyone is going to choose double gold mine combos.  
Makes me wonder if you can do that if your town is getting sieged, so you change it up for the enemy, and reset mines to level1...

At any rate, I guess I could start out with a personal conundrum...

With the ability to take two level 10 legacy abilities at once(and being a Domination major), I toyed around with taking the two most disgusting abilities at once: Population Contribution and Mysticism.  Population Contribution is already well-known as an extremely powerful legacy ability, but Mysticism is not - due to the fact that no one really had the points to explore it as a possibility when Population Contribution offered an easy-to-calculate benefit.

After playing around with the ridiculousness of Mysticism 10+ on the Dwarf King servers, something became apparent.  Population Contribution is disgusting.  Mysticism is disgusting.  But having Population Contribution and Mysticism does not make one doubly-disgusting.  I guess I could split up the performance of both skills into three phases:

1. Early game where legacy hero spends the majority of its time clearing tiles.

2. Early-Mid game where legacy hero is out harassing the neighbors.

3. Mid game+ where the legacy hero is out attacking Fortresses.

In the early game, you gain the benefits of both legacy skills as long as you keep your army with your legacy hero, which you usually do.  In the Early-Mid game, your legacy hero is out somewhat, but spells are saved for tile clearing still so the hero is still mostly at home save for the routine pillage/attack.

The problem occurs when you hit the mid-game+ and your legacy hero is out attacking fortresses or closing rifts.  Mysticism 10+ reduces your spell refresh from the default 12 hours to 5 hours, 20 minutes.  A single fortress attack consumes 90 minutes, and you can perform roughly 3 fortress sorties with that hero before all your spells start popping up again.  With rifts, sorties can be much longer than 90 minutes depending on how far away the thing spawns.

The result is that your legacy hero is only around at night, and you receive perhaps half of the benefit of Population Contribution because of this.  So is it still worth taking?


If you're getting the "full benefit of Population Contribution" in the mid-late game, you're probably misplaying.

That said, there's the Daily Recruitment opportunity cost.  Having an extra high-level attacker is a decent substitute for Mysticism, while there is no substitute at all for Daily Recruitment.  So the question is whether DR is a must-have for everyone, or if it's better to have some DR10/PC10 specialists and others who focus entirely on high-level troops.
