the new wildflowers? not yet. i could put them in a folder and upload them for you, if you want, since you've been helping me out.

i also redid the spiderweb defs, the rest of them, anyway. now both holes are isolated, and the web defs have edges tailored to the webs themselves:

Much better, they now look as real-life objects and not some abstraction.

Flowers are amazing, I'd like to see both in game someday

well, i'm on my next task, number 52 on my "to-do" list. icebergs. i had a great idea, but not sure if it'll work. of all the pics i got off the net for inspiration, i found one in particular that would be cool in-game: an iceberg that is big enough to travel under(by means of a kind of tunnel). i don't really want to piece 2(or more) 256x192 images together, but i might end up having to. i'll just make it so in zeobjts, that the def will be travel-able thru it.

just some things i wanted to add, for those map makers out there who want a huge ocean map to play with. high seas action. i still plan on making the reefs whose shadows descend into the water, as well as sharks, maybe a whale, jellyfish(glad to see that someone else put one in-game already), and some more sea monsters of both the big-as-an-island type as well as the ship-eating tentacle type. i think a def of a ship being attacked by a huge-tentacled sea monster is a good idea to make, to.

anyone seen "the adventures of baron munchausen"? i want a sea monster that looks like an island, but has a blow hole that gives it away...

can't see the pic. something about no permission on this server.

here is the first draft version of my 1st iceberg. i still have to add some white to the top, i don't like how blue it is. i was wondering what you guys thought of the base. i was originally going to add animated water to the base of it, when i saw that all the pics off the net don't have that, and i'm guessing because it goes with the current.

anything besides what i mentioned already that could improve it?

i can see that i need to do something with the base, maybe a layer here and there of blue to blend, so the waves don't make the iceberg look like a cardboard cutout.

that's what i was thinking, too. the one underneath is supposed to be descending into the depths. so i'll get rid of the actual "shadow". and touch up the base somehow. thanks for the quick response!

last pic i'll post of the icebergs made so far:

i've got a lot of these to make so that they won't be so obvious a repeating sight...

well, i can't take full credit for it, it was a mountain put in the game by somebody else, i just got rid of excess, recolored, and added 3 colors to make it an iceberg, like all the rest. i now have 15 made. i have to make others like the one you prefer, storm-giant, because it's an odd one out. and i have to make more of the blue ice ones, and still fix the first one(pictured). after making the other ones and seeing that they're better than that one, i have to fix it, or i won't be satisfied.

The bluish one is interesting. For an iceberg it is too bluish and too "rounded". But the dragon head on the left side looks good

yeah, i need to do something with that blue one. it was my first, so i'll allow myself a mulligan on it, lol. you saw the face, too, huh? i saw it, wasn't intentional tho.

i have more to do of both big ones and little pieces, and i have to fix the ones that don't please me. i would get rid of the blue iceberg entirely, but my niece likes it(i kept the blue version, just renamed it).

i also plan on making floating ice, and replacing the frozen lucid pool defs i did with better ones made from pics of real ice. we'll see how that goes, tho.

ok, because i did not want to have to make more blue ones for companions to the other one(they take a lot longer to make), i made the blue one match the others. now i just have to fix the ones made from the rough mountains, and then i can continue making more.
screen to show improvement:

It looks frozen and copy-pasted. You should replace the shadow by reflection IMO. Have you tried clone stamp at 7-10% hardness between 2 layers then reflection? Just a quick made example, I don't have your objects:

I mean, that's how we see them, don't forget that water is not solid terrain, it reflects things:

that looks neat. and i think it would be easy to add a water line to define the object from the reflection. but, you notice how calm the waters are in the picture? every picture i have of icebergs that are reflected have calm waters. they also sit in lighter-colored water. the water in-game is darker, and while not exactly rough, is not exactly calm, either. i'm not too sure if the graphical detail fits well in-game either. it raises a standard that everything else in the game would have to match.

can you upload a pic of what it looks like in H3Deftool?

EDIT: btw, you do have the mountains i've got. i used the type you have pictured to make 3 of the icebergs. lol, it's the top right one, that warmonger likes.

Mountain reflection def

Without clone stamp so angles are still brutal, did not save the work, but you get the idea. Transparency does not work with 8 bits so you will have to use base ground (water in this case) as background layer, as with Armageddon blade def etc, select mountain, expand by 1 pixel the selection and you are done.

Whow!

Still they look more like mountains than like icebergs. The bluish one with the dragon head is like a partially melted iceberg, and as such quite o.k., but the other ones are too mountain-like. Just have a look at the real iceberg.

How about taking pictures of real icebergs, resize them, remove background, add reflection and make defs of them?

Or maybe the original swamp mountains could make a good base for icebergs.

@salamandre- see, now that would look ugly, unmoving water in the reflection of the iceberg. i was wondering how you got the reflection to sit on the animated water... thanks, anyway.

@siegfried- that is what i was initially going to do, but i was concerned that the end result wouldn't blend well with the game. i will try one and see. i still kinda like the other ones i made, maybe they just need a flatter top?

lol, salamandre, you beat me to it. nice iceberg, by the way.

here's my version:

i'll always prefer animated water over un-animated water.

the problem with a lot of the pics on the net, is that douchebags like to put watermarks on their pics, so that i can't use them for the game.
