There is no rush, videos can wait. The ultimates situation is partly my fault because ideally you should not be able to use them. However I find that a game without maxed reputation isn't as much fun so I had to introduce a rule to avoid balance issues. In any case do check the masterpost, it contains useful things and not just rules

Yeah but getting the proper recording setup and having the time and also wanting to get the video out on friday means it's wednesday afternoon for me or one of the previous conditions is not going to be met - either there'll be background noise and no facecam, either it won't be out on friday.

But that's just me having a few quality standards for my videos. Also me wanting to fit things into a schedule.

We'll still need to have determined a victor by next Monday is all I'm saying. I have already extended the round by 3 days, can't keep pushing back.

Nice video gameslayer. First mistake I did with magic stronghold was overestimate my casting ability These guys don't have enough mana so I try to use magic as support than the focus of my strategy. The trap gives -4 speed so I think you could have avoided the kirin charge if placed right in front of them - though not really sure if their movement would be affected. Would have been fun if you'd pulled a puppet on the kirins near the end of the round. And you might be better off keeping the cyclopes in corner to protect the goblins. I respect those little buggers a lot, they've saved me often. Btw the kirins did not escape puppet due to the lightning, it was waves of renewal. I was less than happy when I first learnt that it dispels puppet on the beginning of the turn..

I should put on a combat playlist myself, hearing those tracks made me nostalgic.

yeah I know what i did wrong, i just didn't have nearly enough mana for anything.
Damn, waves of renewal stops puppet? sigh
Yeah, the problem is i'm used to magic inferno, who have meditation, shoudl have gone with my best faction instead of stronghold really

For stronghold magic I'd suggest something along the lines of what I did to Polyglot, except better executed. Alternating between fire bolt (low mana cost, HIGH damage) and some other spell, I was going with single target inner fire for again the low cost and high boost, but I ended up using fireball more than inner fire.

Basically in a word low cost high effect (usually single target) spells to complement the units on the field.

Mind you, I haven't had the time to watch those videos yet. Maybe I'm just being redundant.

First off, thanks for the replay. Do You mind a few suggestions?
(Disregard them if You do, here goes anyway )

Artifact set bonuses are to be considered when choosing, and amazingly, in most cases You are better off boosting your might attack first, and magic power second, as the passive bonus thus provided to 6 of your creatures can offset a few extra points of magic stats. (Ini arties are always good, so keep an eye out for them.)

Tactics 3 is really good for Stronghold, anything goes that makes the initial charge more successful, and starting from the third row, most of your army can cross the battlefield right away (Boromirs, Reavers, Jaguars, Harpies, and even Crushers!). Don't let this fact go to waste! A blocked Sanctuary is a good Sanctuary

Do not underestimate the first might skill tab; especially with Stronghold, You have a few points to sink in the might stat of your reputation,(2 points for 7 might attack in your case) and Luck, which helps a lot.

As others said before me, Stronghold magic has more of a supportive role. Spells You should consider next time are mass inner fire, and maybe single Vampirism(ideal subjects are the Boromirs Cyclopes) and storm arrows, coupled with daze and chain lightning when going blood. (Though Simpelicity's brute force approach can work too, check out our duel )

You should have capitalized on his mistake in letting Kirins wait first turn, by blocking Kirins' movement(no mist=no damage boost, no extra turns!Though he kinda wasted it anyway) with a well-placed Feral Charge, following up with a Cyclops smash. Boromirs are amazingly durable, they can handle fighting on the front lines.

Against a Might Sanctuary, screwing with Kirins, both movement-wise and hp-wise is paramount, they do tons of damage, get them down as quickly as possible! Their other focus point are the Naga Queens, You were right to harass them with Harpies.

Sanctuary can't really afford to guard both shooters, so getting one of them bogged down via Crushers would have been a fine move on your part

Sky and Earth are fine and dandy, but  it's more useful in the long run to get Reavers in a tactically more important position first,(blocking his other shooter eventually), and then make use of it (Rush now, think later!) Keep in mind, that it's your only unit dealing Magic damage, boosted this time by your hero: their usual meat shield role is thus secondary, they deal nice damage.

Mass inner fire on first turn, then rage (any level) asap makes for a fearsome charge indeed, and the might damage boost really complements Stronghold, even if Sanctuary is the one faction with ini comparable to them, so the turn order is harder to manipulate. (which is why daze, chain lightning and Storm Arrows come in handy)

Due his pasive Earth and Sky(In the first turn of combats, all friendly stacks benefit from +5 Initiative and +1 Movement, and all enemy non-flyer stacks suffer from -5 Initiative and -1 Movement.), i could not reach any trops in first turn.

I wanted implosion and thunderblade helmet, as they give 2 incredible skills for free, so i kinda didn't think abotu set bonuses at all
Surely though sanctuary, being one of the best defensive factions, should be countered with mor of a turtle strategy thasn a rush strat, because surely sanctuary are great at stopping rushes but their weak shooters prevent them making too much of a dent in a turtle strategy, especially as i had 3 shooters and a magic hero to his 2. At least, that was going through my mind when playing.

And yes, i should not have ignored some of the might skills, since i ran out of mana very fast. I mean, i never even used Blindness, which could have easily won me the game on it's own!

And yes, i should have blocked his shooters with earth elementals way earlier than i ended up doing. I forget osmetimes that summon Earth elemental is not charge based, and so i should use it ASAP in order to summon 2 stacks.

You can never summon two stacks of the same elemental: If You try, the one already in play disappears.

@Arvisme: I meant Reavers' Earth and Sky, not the passive one of the hero. You could have  reached him in first turn by using Rush or Heroic Charge - despite going Shogun - on Kirins, and then taking advantage of the mist. In fact, that would have been a textbook Sanctuary might opening, with Intimidation or Mass Heroism coming next turn as opposed to right away.

What Sanctuary does best is army synergy: Lead with Kirins, jump with Kappas(via mist, if necessary) follow up with mist-aided Naga Queens - remember, it adds damage as well as an extra turn -, Spirit Link your champion to Mizu-Kami, then share Waves of Renewal cast early on, to give it as much juice as possible... so many options, and that's only your very first turn. Without some ini arties, it would be difficult to stop even with Stronghold! Also, next time do grab Counterstrike 3 when going tears might, it'll make the opponent hesitant to attack, (Okay, Bloodrage 4 negates it, but if Stronghold goes for it, that means it won't hit before turn 2 at the earliest)

Thursday: Have to go 16.45
Friday: A bit problematic but we should be able to find time between 9.00-17.00
