@watcher83
my advise is pretty simple: stick to one deck - a good one (out of the ones you mentioned only Sandal and Ishuma are good, Kelthor is playable), learn how to play it in various matchups and go for JP. On ladder if you're ~1,4k ELO u will get 2-5 points when winning and -20 when losing. On JP when you're facing 1,5k+ players it's almost the other way round (although you gonna lose more).
I do believe that Ishuma (no magic, Storm + Taxes/Mercs) and Sandal (i prefer 2 monsoons and no Angels of Mercy but i guess both are viable) are the best heroes in the current meta.
I also suggest copying top decks if the deck is new to you. Only when you feel comfortable with the deck you can alter it to suit your playstyle more.

Like me when I was on my way to 1500 They became an easy matchup after I included 2 griffin knights plus 4 angels of mercy and I started playing more aggressively. After I realized what I should do, I no longer needed monsoon.
Yeah, but currently the most popular deck is Ishuma with 0 flyers. I'm not saying that Griffin Knight is bad but 2 of them can really hinder you against other opponents.

It's always hard and frustrating when your trying to make your way to the top, same like a while back in hon I was trying to get to 1900 mmr but I was eternally stuck at 1800mmr. ( then dota 2 came out and I stopped playing hon )

Seriously? I mean, I am the guy that is always pissed in games like DotA 2, Starcraft 2 etc. but I am usually quite calm in DoC. It is a card game, there is luck involved and even when I think that there is no chance I would lose, enemy gets something super good and I get something terrible, and he win. Luck is a big factor, so I really think that you shouldn't be pissed because of losing.
I am constantly bouncing between 1250 and 1400 ELO, I don't really care if I drop even to 1000 because I know that I will manage to bounce back.

@Dave_Jame
LOL at the "G*y threesome"
About JP
There is a very good reason why there is a very limited selection of heroes in JP. Only the best heroes get played. I don't know which hero did you chooses but it should be one from the around 10 that are widely acknowledge to be the best.
You see in JP a hero should be able to withstand not only rushes but also control decks. This is the reason why Alia is not that popular. She's great at dealing with rushes but falters to almost any OTK/control. Sandal on the other hand is a versatile hero, that can fight off rushes and thanks to SotS can withstand OTK/Controls which makes him more suitable for JP. From sanctuary you see mostly Ishumas because she's basically the best hero from Sanctuary. Same goes to Dhamiria.
JP is not easy but for me getting ELO from ladder would be more time-consuming. And for me, JP is the best part of the game because games are really challenging and gives you an opportunity to test your skills and your deck (btw. I'm 2cd with 307 TELO)
just in case: don't worry i don't take things like that personally.
@RMZ1989
I used to rage so hard when I was playing SC2. The game (is great!!) is so frustrating because your misplay are so visible. I actually almost destroyed my keyboard and broke all 4 pillars from beneath that let me adjust the keyboard. I'm quite docile in DoC compared to other games (QL, SC2). I guess card games and TBS don't get you so irritated.

Hi Dave, i can empathize with your frustration - climbing the elo ladder is at best a frustrating battle - but nameless was correct in saying jp has highest gain, flip side though is it comes with highest loss as well.
i completely agree with you though that the same heros are just frustrating to see!!!
rmz is right though you will bounce back quickly!!! i think all of us have been there man.

Just to sume up:
Deck used Yukiko allaround (latest version of my fun Yukiko). I use it normally and it works on 1300-1350 elo. Which is not bad.
Faced ONLY Ishuma and Dhamirias. Some of it was bad luck on draws and generally I do not have problems with Ishuma, some with Dhamiria wich is situational. But this was insane, didnt even get over 90 TELO for the reason of them, it was boaring and nut fun at all.
Sad part is, When I played ladder after the JP to calm my self, All i encountered were again Dhami and Ishuma. The rage in my head was not calmed even by the fact that they all lost.
The problem with JP is what Namless likes about them, only 10 heroes are usefull, boaring, you face the same thing again, and again, and again..... No thank you. There is no chalange in this. A chalange is to make a deck that works under any situation, not a deck that work just in JP because its build to conter specific builds.
Hell I played several training games with Red today, he was trying out a new asalah deck, and I was able to win with most of my decks.
Nad Btw I'm back and my 13something, but I'm out of JP for a long time. Can't wait to get Swiss tickets on sunday.

Indeed. Well, it goes with the nature of the game. In TBS and card games, you are usually relaxed, thinking out through the game, reacting to what enemy is doing, but you have all time you need to do some well-thought-out plan.
In MOBAs, MMOs and RTS, everything is happening quickly, you need to think really fast, have good mechanics and great reaction and just one misclick can make your life miserable, or just straight up lose you the game while you were playing perfectly for 15+ minutes. It is quite frustrating.

Jackpot is by far the best way to get elo. The reason is at the top levels you only face other 1500 players so you get elo with every win and lose far less than in ladder.
Personally I haven't been playing for a couple weeks simply because Cass is the best deck and I cannot stand playing as or against it. It just makes the game not fun. Prison should never have been created, I cannot fathom how it used to not be unique, good lord!
