It doesn't have to be a bug.
Same was said about the empty Pandora's Box. It is just the game. But else, that's the condition at the Pandora's Box, if you ask me, it could, or couldn't contain anything, so yep.

Yeah that orb is pretty strange indeed, sometimes works on you, sometimes not. I don't know if it's a bug or a very strange game design, but it would definitely be easier to understand how the orb works if it affected both players the same, no matter who wore it.

I don't see any bugs here. Orb is working as intended.
If You hold the orb then both your and your opponent's troops are vulnerable. If You don't hold the orb but your opponent will then only your opponent's troops are vulnerable (because it holds orb) but not yours! So you can resurrect your black dragons only if YOU hold the orb. Otherwise you can't harm or resurrect them.

That's not what the description says. The text literally says, "During combat, this orb negates the natural magic resistance of all creatures on the battlefield."

What you're saying is that it doesn't work if you don't hold it, which the description contradicts. Or aren't you in combat when it's your turn and the enemy holds the orb?

As it is, the tests show pretty conclusive that it only doesn't work if your enemy holds it and you want to cast something on your own creatures. It works if the enemy holds it and you want to cast on his creatures and vice-versa. It also works if you hold it and cast on your own creatures.

Based on the literal description: all creatures on the battlefield are affected and vulnerable to magic:

- corpses are not in the category creatures
- resistance skill rather blocks a spell, doesnt meet with resistance vulnerabilty

Concerning resurection not working, maybe AI had ring of oblivion as well?

In my case The AI didn't had The ring of oblivion  ... I was able to resurrect other creatures... The only creatures I wasn't able to resurrect were the Black Dragons...
So basically I could've been able to resurrect the dragons only if I had the orb and not the opponent

And I've made a small test and the problem represented it self a bit weirder this time because the AI had the orb of vulnerability , I was able to cast spells that I wouldn't normally be able to cast on his unit (like Blind on Titan), I also casted an Armaghedon but strangely it did not affect my dragons although the AI was wearing the Orb ... And still wasn't able to use resurrect...

That makes the orb a valuable artifact for Rampart, they still have to endure implosion on Gold Dragons, but at least they can resurrect them if they are wearing the orb.

I've also tried fighting against black dragons with the AI having the Orb of Vulnerability...
It was able to cast Armaghedon without damage to the Black Dragons but I was able to cast Impolsion on them and do damage...

Hi guys, a newcomer here!

I recently found this mod and would like to thank the team behind it. The cove castle and the mod overall have really classic touch, it feels like the mod would have been created by the original creators. So really good job!

Couple of questions: (I'm sorry if these have already been asked, but this thread is 130+ pages long)

I see you buffed scouting, do you have any plans to buff other (weak) secondary skills like eagle eye and learning?

What were the reasons to reskin orcs and pikemen? Not that I'm against the change, just wondering.

Hello and welcome.
I am a pretty new guy here myself, but I will try to answer your questions. But I do suggest maybe reading the last 20 pages of this thread to catch up on what's happening.
Other than the Necromancy-nerf and the Scouting-buff I believe the team plan to buff some other bad skills, like Eagle Eye, First Aid, Mysticism and so on.
About the creatures I think the team believed Pikemen/Halbardiers looked to similar to Archers and Swordsmen and the Orcs were maybe to small and puny? I am not really a fan of the new skins on creatures and heroes myself, but I guess I will learn to accept it...

The original Pikemen/Halberdiers models definitely were badly proportioned with their pea-sized heads.

Afaik the Orc redesign was made to get the looks in line with other games of the MM universe, including HoMM 1+2.

hello and congratulations on the expansion. i have come here to propose a suggestion. have seen there is a suggestion thread and will post there if it is appropriate and proper place. tell me what do you think

-Introduce ability to switch between melee and shoot for Titan to make better tactical choice in battle, maybe for other "no melee penalty" units as well

it makes sense to use melee more often in end fight and it also depend on heroe capability and obviously is better if you need to move creature but still want to deal damage on that turn

-Introduce ability for other units to choose between ability/spells, like:

Harpy Hag to strike and return or strike and remain in place

Master Genie choose the type of random buff needed by category:

1) defense (shield, stone skin, air shield, cure, prayer)
2) attack (haste, bloodlust, bless, precision, prayer)
3) support (fortune, mirth, counterstrike, fire shield, magic mirror

remove anti-magic and absolutely frenzy. you want buffs to help troops and not kill it. unexpected frenzy can be an absolute devastator

so yeah it would be more like in heroes 4 with harpy and mellee/ranged troops and with interface like with faery dragon pressing on key and choosing magic

if its possible it would be great to see this implementation. it would bring much more strategy and balance into the game

oh and there is a very hard to see font of chat when in battle on snow terrain. i use HotA 1.3.8 + HD 3.808. before HotA font was different. now the translucency makes it very hard to read on snow. how to change this?
